Chapter 62 - I'm going to go meet up with my girlfriend

The day went on like every other day. Aside from the addition of Kang-woo, who was very chill and normal to hang out with, there was nothing different from their group.

Kang-woo talked to Yun-tae and the rest mostly because Chin-hwa insisted on keeping to himself and facing his jotter after every class.

There was one reason why Chin-hwa was working so hard, even though he wasn't striving for the first place. It was so that he could confidently answer half of the questions wrongly and half right.

If he knew the answer to every question, he would be able to keep his position where he was. And honestly, he didn't need to put too much effort while studying.

If he simply jotted down what he knew after class, the information would stick to his head and all he needed to do was review it one more time before the exams.

He was that good.

Thus, he had time to help his friends study when the exams were near.

"Have you submitted your project?" Seoung-bo asked Dong-cha who scratched her hair in frustration.

"Aish, I hate this. I left mine at my house." She said. "I was sure I put the file in my bag but it's not here."

"Then, hurry back and get it, dammit. Do you want to fail this course?" Seoung-bo queried her and she yawned.

"Don't nag me. I'll go get it. I will." She said, tucking her hands in her pocket. "But it's boring. Will you go with me?"

Seoung-bo shook her head with a sigh.

"I guess I have no choice. We don't have any classes after this. Just club activities. So, I guess I can go with you."

"Thanks, Seoung-bo, you're the best." Dong-cha said as she flung her arms around Seoung-bo's neck and even went as far as kissing her cheek.

"What are you...?"

"Haha, consider that a life reward." Dong-cha confidently said and Seoung-bo elbowed her in the guts.

"Who wants your silly reward?" She asked and walked ahead. "Save your reward kisses for your future lover, seriously."

"Hey, hey, don't be so harsh. Wait up." Dong-cha said as he held her stomach and went after her.

"You're the one who's going to get an F if you don't pick up the pace." Seoung-bo yelled at her

Though she said that, her face was lightly flushed. She hated it when Dong-cha did that because it only ended up making her heart race.

Which was so wrong because how could she have feelings for her friend, right? It would ruin their friendship.

"I'm going to go meet up with my girlfriend." Beom-Chim said to Chin-hwa and Yun-tae who nodded and waved at him.

"Alright. See you tomorrow." Yun-tae said and lowered his head.

It was just the three of them left.

"So, it's us three again." He said, smiling at them. "Wanna visit the pastry shop right outside school?"

This was the part where Chin-hwa would decline but the moment Yun-tae said the pastry shop, his craving for sweets kicked in.

He cleared his throat to hide his excitement and said,

"Well, I suppose we can make a quick stop." He said and Yun-tae laughed.

This was one thing he knew well about Chin-hwa and he was proud of it.

"Kang-woo," Yun-tae called, going to lock his fingers together. "You'll go with us, right?"

"Yeah, I would love to." He said, smiling at Yun-tae and Chin-hwa nodded, turning away before his eyes stubbornly tried to look at their interlocked fingers.

If he didn't see it, it wouldn't hurt him. He told himself.

But how well did that work out when he knew just what was going on behind him.

They headed for the pastry shop with Chin-hwa walking ahead of them. He didn't want it to look like they were walking together, and while they both acted lovey-dovey behind him, he clutched his bag right and made his way straight to the pastry shop with quick steps.

But the quicker his steps, the shorter the distance between them became. He could hear their voices very clearly the more they tried to get away.

How was that?

And then he stopped, turned his head around to find them just behind him. His efforts to create a distance between them had actually brought them closer. How ironic.

"Shall we head in?" Yun-tae asked, his hands still in Kang-woo's, and Chin-hwa nodded, opening the door.

He glanced around and picked a table that could contain all three of them.

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.

Even if he wanted to act like he didn't know them, he couldn't exactly suggest that they take different tables. He would only be making it obvious that he didn't want to be around them.

"You guys stay here. I... I'll go make the orders."

"It's okay, I'll..." Yun-tae wanted to stand but Chin-hwa shook his head and smiled.

"No, you two talk. I'm sure Kang-woo would want to know more about what this shop has. So, fill him in on it, okay?"

Yun-tae sat back and answered,

"Al-alright."

He watched Chin-hwa walk away and then he bit his lip. No matter how much he tried to hide it, Yun-tae wasn't so dumb that he wouldn't notice that he was trying to avoid them.

He wanted to be the one to make the orders to Chin-hwa, and Kang-woo could sit down and maybe exchange a few words, but he failed. He was a second too late and Chin-hwa left him there.

"Hah!" He sighed. Well, there was still time. Getting into a relationship with Kang-woo meant Kang-woo would be around them at all times.

And it was even better that they offered the same courses. Surely, Yun-tae would be able to get them to make up somehow. He was sure he could.

And while he was busy with that, he would enjoy his time as Kang-woo's boyfriend. It was a win-win.

Yun-tae watched Chin-hwa, only to notice Ji-hoo entering the shop as well with a few of his friends and they were headed for the counter to order.

"Hey, isn't that...?" He immediately shot his mouth and turned to look at Kang-woo, hoping he hadn't noticed anything.

Given what had happened earlier on, he wasn't sure if it was a good thing to let Kang-woo and Ji-hoo meet again. Not to talk of alerting him that Ji-hoo was talking to Chin-hwa.

But Kang-woo had already noticed it. He kept his gaze on the Shining mirror container that held the silverware cutlery.

And while he had been staring at Chin-hwa through it, he found Ji-hoo walking up to Chin-hwa at the counter, and they were... Smiling.

'Uh-oh. What's going to happen now?' Yun-tae thought, but to his surprise, Kang-woo squinted his eyes, sighed, and then looked away.

He didn't do anything about it and Yun-tae wondered why he let it go so easily.

But it wasn't that Kang-woo let it go easily. He just... He didn't want to hurt Chin-Hwa with his reckless jealousy again. Exchanging words with an Alpha whom he came to know while he was absent did not mean it was the end of the world.

For all he knew, he did not have a single place in Chin-hwa's heart. So, it was okay.
