To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 196: A happily ever after
The procession music was smooth and beautiful, accompanied by the first two to walk down the aisle, the little flower girls who threw pink petals on the floor and led the way for the little ring bearer who followed closely from behind with a white pillow in hand.
He was just as cute as the two in front.
But the way he used great care to make sure the rings did not fall off the pillow as he walked made him seem even more adorable.
"They’re so adorable."
"I want to have such adorable flower girls at my wedding as well. And that ring bearer too."
Everyone was filled with cheers and laughter.
Then, after the little ones walked in, Yun-tae, who was beyond nervous.
He was supposed to walk in on his own but he just couldn’t. There were so many eyes watching and... And...
In any case, Myung-woo decided to walk with him. It made him feel so much relieved and allowed him to walk down the aisle with much confidence.
"Hey, doesn’t this seem like we’re already getting married?" Myung-woo teased as he whispered to Yun-tae on their way to the isle and Yun-tae gasped.
"Hey, please don’t start." He said and Myung-woo laughed at his flushing face. It was always a great thing to get a reaction out of Yun-tae.
But this entire stuff would be theirs one day. That is, they would be the ones walking down the aisle while reciting their vows in their heads so they wouldn’t end up forgetting it, and so many people would come to wish them a happy marriage. All that would happen when Yun-tae was finally ready to exchange rings with him.
They got to the alter and went to wait at the side while the bride made his way in while holding his father’s arms.
Daddy Baek felt so proud being the one to walk Chin-hwa on this happy day. Woo-bin didn’t even have time to gnash his teeth as he watched the happiness on his precious baby’s face.
He would rather carve this moment into his mind with a happy ray of light rather than act on his envy.
"It happened so soon." Hae-won muttered and Woo-bin looked down at him. "I mean, I just didn’t expect he would be first."
"Neither did I." Woo-bin said. "It’s not too late to..."
"Don’t say it." Hae-won said and Woo-bin laughed.
"Yeah, I guess it is too late."
Besides, it’s not like stopping the wedding was an option anyway.
He just had to be satisfied with this outcome.
Kang-woo watched Chin-hwa approaching and his nervousness died down. He had been so nervous that he held his breath, expecting him to walk through the flower entrance any moment.
It made him worried.
What if he didn’t do well? What if he ended up making a mistake while saying the vows? He had so much to worry about, but as soon as he set his eyes on Chin-Hwa, all that worry seemed to fade away, and all he could think of was how lucky he was.
His dream was coming true.
"I’m entrusting Hwa to you," Baek-Hyun said as he dropped Chin-hwa’s hand in Kang-woo’s. "But it doesn’t mean he’s completely yours. He belongs to us just as much as he belongs ’with’ you. But the only difference is that the picture of his future has more of you in it than us. But even so," he kissed the top of Chin-hwa’s head. "...we will always be at the side watching. So, do your best to make him happy."
Chin-hwa was brought to tears but he tried not to cry. He couldn’t cry. If he did, he would ruin the eyeliner that the artist spent so much time trying to perfect.
He couldn’t waste her effort.
He couldn’t, but... His lip quivered. He just couldn’t hold it in after he looked into his father’s caring and loving eyes.
"Dad," he called with a wobbly voice and Baek-Hyun laughed.
"It’s alright. You’re just getting married, not leaving us for good. Just as I said, you still have us so never hesitate to run to us if you have a problem."
"Yes, Dad." Chin-hwa said, sniffing, and Kang-woo helped him clean the tears in his eyes.
"And that goes for you too." Baek-Hyun added. "You’re a man now and soon to be father but that doesn’t mean you should try to do everything on your own. You can always ask for help. No, not can. You should always ask for help. Never keep anything to yourself lest you end up regretting it."
"Yes, father-in-law." Kang-woo answered.
"Now, carry on with the wedding." Baek-Hyun said and walked down, heading towards where Hae-won and Woo-bin were standing.
Once both of them had backed the audience, they all sat down to listen to the priest.
"Pat, hey," Chin-hwa called Kang-woo in whispers and Kang-woo glanced at him through the corner of his eyes. "How do I look?"
Kang-woo did not expect that but he ended up smiling and said,
"Astonishing."
"Idiot, I’m talking about my eyes." Chin-hwa said, his face flushing at his compliment. "Did the eyeliner get smeared or are my eyes red? Anything."
Kang-woo took a moment, silently watching him and then he smiled.
"No, it’s just fine." He said and leaned closer to kiss his cheek, causing the priest to clear his throat.
"We haven’t gotten to that part yet." He said and Kang-woo flinched.
"Ah, right. Sorry." He said and Chin-hwa laughed.
The congregation laughed as well.
"Now, both of you, repeat after me," it was time for the vows.
"I swear..."
"I swear..."
"That I will love my partner..."
"That I will love my partner in riches and in poor, in sickness and in health, through trials and temptation, and for the rest of my life, I will be by his side and never leave him."
It was a vow specifically written by Chin-hwa and Kang-woo. They felt they could at least say the vows they wanted to say.
"And even beyond death," they continued. "I shall have only my partner in my heart."
It was rather peculiar to anyone listening.
Then, they exchanged rings, both sliding in a ring into the other’s ring finger. It caused sparks to fly between them, and they met each other’s gaze subtly and softly, their eyes sending messages about how badly they wanted this moment to last forever. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
This beautiful and magical moment.
"Now, do you, Lee Kang-woo, Park Chin-hwa as your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do," Kang-woo proudly said. This was the moment he was waiting for.
"And do you, Park Chin-hwa, take Lee Kang-woo as your husband?"
"I definitely do." Chin-hwa said and smiled, his lips widely spread as he said the words he had only ever fantasized about.
It was a moment that brought tears to his eyes. Tears he felt he could no longer hold in.
"Now, you can finally get to the kissing part, you impatient young ones." The priest said, looking at them knowingly since young ones were always so eager to get to this part.
Kang-woo pulled him in and kissed him. The tears finally flowed down.
This has been nothing but a dream for so many years and not it had come true. He was so happy.
"I’m happy, Hwa." Kang-woo said, pressing their foreheads together.
"Me too, Byul. Me too." He said and cried.
Kang-woo hugged him and confetti went up into the air.
They began to walk back down the aisle with everyone applauding and flowers falling on their heads.
"Throw the flower already." Someone yelled and Chin-hwa looked at the flower in his hand.
That’s right, he needed to throw the flower.
"Then, here I go."
Different people gathered behind him, but the one who ended up catching the flower was He-Nari, who had been paying no attention to the flower-catching event at all.
And he was sitting the other way, too, so he was surprised when the flower landed in his arms.
He had Chin-hwa’s random throw to blame but it wasn’t so bad.
He glanced at Deok-ryu and grinned, waving the flower at him and Deok-ryu gulped.
He didn’t know what that meant.
This was the happily ever after that so many people dreamed of and Chin-hwa got his with Kang-woo.
The End
Only... This wasn’t the ending of the end.
*****
Author here: I’m so glad we could reach the end of this novel together. And yes, this is definitely the end but not actually the end, if you get what I mean. There’s going to be a side story.
It felt like a happily ever after during the wedding, but we all know that there’s more to come. Sadly, I can’t write it as normal Chapters because I would only be dragging the end of the novel too long with my irregular updates. So, I’ll get the Chapters ready and post em all together as a side story, so you should still look forward to the baby moment and everything else.
It might take a while but I’ll definitely write it down. Our cute Chin-hwa with a baby bump and becoming a mother for the first time in his life. But I’d say it was more like a child having a child, based on his character, lol.
Once again, I’m thankful that you got to the end of this novel and experienced Chin-hwa’s happy moments with him.
As at now, ’To Byul’ has officially ended. Thank you and please check out my other works. With love, Byul_Byre
