Spirit's Ascension-Chapter 68—New Rule
Cole wasn’t quite interested in the topic like the others were. had read all about this before.
This gave Cole a level of self-accomplishment again. He was always lagging behind on knowledge.
Now there was finally something he knew before it was actually taught in class.
Out of boredom, Cole’s mind wandered off to other things while class continued on.
The teacher noticed Cole’s distracted gaze, but he chose to ignore him and just continue his class.
About two hours later, the class finally ended, and it was time for combat class.
Eleanor walked in while still fully displaying her air of confidence.
Unlike the previous teacher, no students could just ignore her presence.
Her aura alone was enough to prompt reverie in the students. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
She stood in front of the class while scanning across the students with a condescending look.
"Pathetic," she said out loud.
The students were quite shocked by the words, as they hadn’t expected anything like that.
Some even displayed a look of defiance as if they weren’t too happy with her words.
"You all are just pathetic, acting like Lions here but becoming cats when it gets hot."
"Ohhhh, how deep have Spiriters fallen?"
Few in the class actually understood words, words, and Cole was included.
"She is talking about the attack during the placement test," Cole thought.
"But how is that fault?" Cole frowned.
Eleanor’s eyes still scanned the students as she spoke, resting on Bryan for a while longer and even sending a nod to Cole.
"If it weren’t for a few of you, you all would have been in big trouble."
"Few of us, but the academy took care of the threat," the students thought in utter confusion.
But Eleanor didn’t give explanations; she just turned around to begin her class.
She knew he wouldn’t understand, but she just wanted to vent frustration, and she had done just that.
"The topic for today will be Rules of Combat." She said loudly.
And just like that, Classes began in full swing. With Eleanor displaying each rule.
Cole observed wide-eyed eyes; he had never thought there would be so many rules attached to official combat.
"I never follow this, any of this, and neither do people in the "al world," He thought.
After a bit of continuous teaching, Eleanor finally stopped, despite her class not ending here.
"There have been some new developments and updates to the student curriculum," she said.
"New rule, what could it be?" Some students thought.
"The Academy had noticed a major deficiency in information; students don’t have enough experience in the first year."
"The Spiriters world isn’t as smooth as it is portrayed to be; there is chaos everywhere "
"For that reason, the Academy had decided to move an import forward."
"It was only accessible to the Second years and above, but now you first years shall participate."
"It is called the Academic Missions," she dropped confidently.
"Academic missions? I have heard that quite a lot," Someone said.
While some were quite familiar with what the new rule entails, Cole was oblivious.
From its name, Cole knew they would ba missionon a misAcademy, the Academy, but he didn’t really know that would be done.
"Academic missions are the Academy’s way of lifting real-life experiences to the students while they train." Eleanor Explained
"It usually began in the second year because almost everyone would have advanced to the Awakethen by then."
"But now the Academy will be accepting low -rank missions for you kids to practice with,"
While she spoke, Eleanor’s eyes were completely focused on Cole, resulting in him feeling quite scared.
Even the other members of the class noticed the anomaly, but no one dared say anything or even react at all.
"Due to certain conditions and concerns, the first Academic mission will be now, a week from now."
Different thoughts crossed people’s minds; upon hearing that, some felt scared.
While some who were unaware of the incident, were still excited; confidence in their ability was obvious on their faces.
Bryan, while guys like Moses, Cole, Bryan, and even Mosedanger had experienced true danger, felt slightly.
They knew it wouldn’t be as easy as some thought, but it wouldn’t be too much for them to handle.
"Since you guys are so young, you will be allowed to form a three man team to participate in a mission."
The moment they heard that, Cole and Bryan immediately looked at each other before sharing a nod.
"That leaves only the last person," Cole thought.
rule;that would be all about the new rule; further inquiries will be responded to later," Eleanor said before preparing to walk out of the class.
The student’s time slowed her movement, a step at a time, class, she reached the entrance to the class when she suddenly stopped.
The class began to rustle quickly and quieted again as the student wondered what was going on again.
"All members of this class in the top ten of the placement test should get on their feet," she said.
Without much hesitation or wasting time, about four students stood up.
They were Cole, Byan, and Moses, who were already expected, and then one last student came as a shock to Cole.
Standing not far away from Cole was the student that had accused Cole of cheating earlier in the day.
Cole now had a clearer understanding of why the student was lower acting like that; he probably ranks lower, resulting in his jealousy.
While Cole was observing the kid, the kid was also doing the exact same to Cole but with extreme irritation in his eyes.
Eleanor noticed the spark between the two of them, but she just completely ignored it.
"You all should follow me; there’s something for you," Eleanor said before walking away.
The four of them stood in place, confused for a while, watching Eleanor recede back.
Moses was the first to snap out of it and rush behind her, prompting the same in the others.
"I wonder what it is," Cole thought while he followed along.
