The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 97: Sin
Priest Erasmus walked towards the temple followed by the chief healer and the Priestesses. As soon as they walked inside, Priest Erasmus looked back at the chief healer as he stood before God’s statue.
"Please, Priest Erasmus." The chief healer trembled under the Priest’s gaze, "I tried my best. I tried to do everything. I had given her the medicine that was recently developed. There should have been no mistake. I just don’t understand why the Princess’s body reacts this way."
Priest Erasmus’s lips curled up into a smirk. He looked at the man as he blinked his eyes. "So tell me, have you tried to use all the developments? Did you try to give her each and every medicine that we ever have?"
The chief healer nodded his head. He looked up at Priest Erasmus with hope. "Yes, I have tried everything. It just looks like the Princess’s body is not reacting to any medicines. It feels like it is rejecting everything including food."
Priest Erasmus’s eyes turned sharp. "Do you think Doctor Raul will be able to help the Princess?"
The chief healer looked up at Priest Erasmus. He knew that the relationship between the two was not good. A few years back, the temple and Doctor Raul worked together to develop new medicines but they had a severe disagreement over things and could not continue their research.
The problems escalated to such an extent that Doctor Raul refused to work with the temple but the royal family interjected in between. As he was a person who comes under the Grand Duke’s house, Duke Beaumont decided to step in.
The Royal family agreed that they need Doctor Raul. He was a prodigy in medicine. He was also someone who was able to find cures for rare diseases. So they came to a conclusion. Because the royal family had decided to support the temple in their fight, Doctor Raul will never treat anyone in the royal palace or the temple. The patients no matter who they were would have to come to him or at house Beaumont to get treated.
It was blackmail. Everyone knew that Doctor Raul was saying, ’If you want me to continue then you do things my way.’ It was a big scandal and everyone was waiting to know how the Royal Family would react.
The Grand Duke was called if find a midway in the situation. Everyone knew that no matter what grounds Doctor Raul held, if the Grand Duke requested him, he would eventually agree but the stand of the Grand Duke was already fixed. He supported his subordinate and thus the distance between the temple and House Beaumont increased.
The chief healer swallowed hard. He knew the answer to the question that Priest Erasmus had asked, but he was afraid to say so.
The chief healer sighed as he finally nodded his head. "Yes, Doctor Raul might be able to cure the Princess."
Priest Erasmus laughed as he looked at the chief healer. He moved his hand as he indicated to him to go. "Make sure to stabilize the Princess’s health till she reaches Beaumont mansion."
The chief healer nodded his head hurriedly. He understood the meaning of the words. He was spared for now. He hurriedly left the temple as he walked into his room to find a solution to solve her problem.

Maybe Priest Erasmus did not want citizens to think that the princess’s health was affected after she entered the temple. The citizens should think that even if the Princess did not get cured, her health did not deteriorate. The chief healer believed that it was his duty to make it happen.
Priest Erasmus’s eyes sharpened as he looked at the chief healer’s back. His mind was thinking about a lot of things.
"High Priest," A white-robed man stood behind Priest Erasmus as he asked, "Should we.."
Priest Erasmus held his hand up. "Not yet. I want to see if Doctor Raul could cure the Princess. If even he is not able to then it will be a waste to lose one of our best healers but the Princess is healed we should kill the sinner"
The man in the white robe nodded his head as he disappeared. Priest Erasmus stood there silently. He did not know what was in his mind but he did not like the situation they were in.
The number of people consulting Doctor Raul has increased over the years and the importance of temples has decreased in the process.
’If only Duke Christopher Beaumont had taken our side the situation would have been much different.’ Priest Erasmus sighed. He knew that because of that the problem between the temple and house Beaumont had increased. It was also one of the reasons why the temple had decided to choose Prince Richard as the Crown Prince.
’I need to get the Princess of Angevin Kingdom healed soon.’ Priest Erasmus looked at the statue of God as he smiled, ’Maybe then I will get an indication from God. Maybe then I will know who will be the Crown Princess.’
Priest Erasmus took a step forward as he touched the statue with his fingers, ’Are you angry that we were not able to protect one of the Princesses? Is this the reason why you are not showing me any more prophecies?’
Priest Erasmus closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. ’If getting a prophecy requires me to keep my ego down and let the Princess be treated at Beaumont’s mansion I will do it. Nothing is more important to me than fulfilling my role. I need to give the Roulux Empire his next Emperor.’ 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Priest Erasmus opened his eyes. He looked away from the statue towards a distance. "And if for that I need to kill the sinners then so be it. I will not hesitate to sacrifice people who have sinned."
"So let’s just hope that the chief healer would prove his worth and wash out his sin of lying before justice is served." Priest Erasmus’s eyes narrowed as his lips curled. "Because in the court of God, every sinner should be punished. Even for the smallest sin."
