The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid-Chapter 183 - : Luck
Chapter 183 -183: Luck
Well, he really is rolling in money, not caring at all about a single car.
The game continued, and Ah Da’s second card was a 4. Her heart tightened at the sight of the number—her luck was just too bad, wasn’t it? The second card was smaller than the first one, and she had a bad feeling about this.
Tang Bufan continued to gloat while Huang Leyang looked troubled after seeing his cards, seeming as if the situation was not looking good.
The dealer continued to deal the third card.
Jin Hao was the first to pick it up, then immediately spread out all three of his cards, they were 10, 3, and 5, summing up to eighteen.
He said with a sigh as he hugged his female companion, “It seems the first card used up all my luck. Well, I can only make do; it shouldn’t be too bad, I can’t possibly be the last one, right?”
Tang Bufan sneered and flipped up a corner of his last card with one hand. His eyebrows shot up, and then, he tossed the card onto the table and held his forehead speechlessly.
Ah Da took a good look and couldn’t help but laugh. Two fours and a six—so he had been bluffing all this time, making her think he had good cards?
Huang Leyang sat back with his legs crossed, looking calm and unhurried. Unable to resist, Ah Da raised her hand to reveal her own cards and—to her surprise—it was a 10. Her eyes instantly lit up.
“Added up… 20!”
Ah Da turned and happily reported to Qin Yu, who patted her head and leisurely commented on her good luck.
Tang Bufan couldn’t accept it, “This works too! That’s over the top, a turnaround with the last card!”
Ah Da immediately retorted, “What turnaround? My first card was clearly higher than yours. It’s just that I’m not as good at pretending; you really had me scared for a moment, thinking you had powerful cards.”
“That’s called psychological tactics. When you play games, you should thoroughly crush your opponent’s confidence before you make a move,” Tang Bufan said.
“No matter how good your tactics are, they’re useless.” Ah Da, clinging to Qin Yu’s arm, was as happy as a victorious little fox, her eyes sparkling and her cute face unbelievably pretty.
“After all, my total is higher than yours.”
This was a critical hit for Tang Bufan, who in the end could only console himself by saying, “It’s fine, it’s just one round. There are two more to go; I don’t believe I can be this unlucky every time.”
When Huang Leyang saw Ah Da’s cards, he sensed trouble. He flipped his last card and was utterly shocked.
“Damn, why is it a circle?”
Tang Bufan gloated, “Hahaha, let me reiterate our game’s rules—circles, hooks, and such without any numbers don’t count. Well, not that they don’t count at all; let’s just say they count as 0.”
Tang Bufan, who was originally distressed to death, suddenly felt a lot more balanced upon seeing that Huang Leyang’s cards were even worse than his.
The winner and loser were already clear; Ah Da was the winner of the first round, and Huang Leyang was the loser. As the staff tallied the scores, Ah Da looked at the golden token and felt an inexplicable sense of achievement.
The game was so fun!
As it turned out, her luck was through the roof that night. She dominated the second round just as she did the first; winning two out of three rounds, she had already won.
Everyone clapped politely.
Ah Da turned back excitedly to Qin Yu, her face full of smiles, “I won.”
He placed his hand on top of her head and his handsome face lit up with a soft smile as he hummed in agreement, his voice lazy.
His gaze was gentle, his voice slowly intoxicating, seducing Ah Da, who found herself inadvertently bewitched.
She quickly averted her gaze in a flutter.
With the winner already determined, the third round still had to be played to decide the loser. Tang Bufan and Huang Leyang each had lost a round; it all came down to seeing who would lose the last one.
The atmosphere in the main hall was tense; Tang Bufan had begun to believe in metaphysics, thinking he would win easily, only to find he was the one being taken down—a huge letdown.
Seeing his exaggerated actions, Ah Da pursed her lips and said with a laugh, “I think you might do better praying to the heavens on the deck a few times.”
Tang Bufan almost choked, this little lady was truly infuriating and knew no bounds, but he dare not do much about it, especially with the formidable god of death sitting beside little miss.
Humbled again, he finally stood up and said.
“… All right, that’s not a bad suggestion. I really should go out and pray a bit; I feel like I’m jinxed tonight.”
After saying that, he really did run out.
When he returned, he didn’t even sit down, but stood next to the table, resting his hands on the surface and said to the dealer, “Start. I don’t believe I’ll draw a card lower than five on the last hand!”
The dealer began shuffling the cards, dealing from right to left. Ah Da, though she had already won, still had to act as the dummy dealer for the last round. She had no psychological burden and flipped her cards over directly.
Upon seeing his first card, Tang Bufan’s composure began to crumble. By the second card, he had plopped down onto the sofa, leaning his head against the table, his face the picture of defeat, obviously ready to throw in the towel.
“I lost.”
Jin Hao beat Tang Bufan with a six, narrowly winning.
“Mr. Tang, it seems you’re just a tad unlucky tonight.”
Tang Bufan wasn’t a sore loser. He leaned back on the sofa, sighing as he looked towards Ah Da, “Fair is fair. I thought I would take Third Master’s Knight Armor tonight, but I never expected my luck to be this rotten. Go on, make your demand.”
Ah Da, leaning on Qin Yu’s shoulder, holding the playing cards, was at a loss for what to ask for.
Then she suddenly thought of the man beside her and turned to ask him.
“Qin Yu, do you have any suggestions?”
No sooner had she spoken than Qin Yu remained silent. Tang Bufan, on the other hand, jumped to his feet, laughing more hideously than he would have cried, “Oh my ancestors, my little madam, you’re the winner, you should decide for yourself, I… our game rules state that the winner makes the request. Outsiders can’t intervene.”
Seeing him in such a panic, Ah Da knew right away that Qin Yu must know his weak point. Her large, sprightly eyes twinkled as they turned towards the man at her side.
Qin Yu didn’t give Tang Bufan a glance, his arm wrapped around the girl’s waist, the corners of his mouth slightly lifted as he serenely dropped a sentence.
“He’s not bad at singing.”

“Ah?” Ah Da thought he’d reveal some valuable possession of Tang Bufan’s, especially since Tang Bufan had been eyeing his car from the beginning. Although she didn’t comprehend cars or how rare the Knight Armor was, the covetous look in Tang Bufan’s eyes told her it must be something precious.
She thought Qin Yu would at least seek some kind of revenge.
But he didn’t.
Just when Ah Da was somewhat lamenting over Qin Yu’s friendship with Tang Bufan, Tang Bufan collapsed onto the sofa, covering his throbbing head.
“Qin Yu says you sing well, so sing us a song. That’s not asking too much, is it?” Ah Da said.
Tang Bufan opened his eyes. No one could understand that at that moment, all he wanted was to leap from the window and flee.
“Heh, you ask for my life, and that’s not too much?”
As Tang Bufan spoke, he looked towards Qin Yu with a trace of exasperation, “Third Master, you’re really ruthless.”
Ah Da faintly sensed something was amiss, not quite understanding why Tang Bufan looked so forlorn. Wasn’t it just a song? Surely Qin Yu wasn’t being sarcastic.
“Singing is nothing. Stop being shy; it’s not like you haven’t sung before.” Qin Yu raised his hand and the staff began to prepare.
The others, following Qin Yu’s lead, started to jeer and clap.
“Mr. Tang, give us a song!”
“How about ‘First Love’!”
“‘Love and Hate’ isn’t bad either!”
The stage was set, and seeing no escape, Tang Bufan decided to face the music.
“If I have to sing, I’ll sing. Just don’t regret it later, you think I’m scared?”
Tang Bufan snatched the microphone in one swift movement. The music had already begun to play when Qin Yu suddenly pulled Ah Da to her feet.
Confused, Ah Da was dragged by Qin Yu towards the exit.
No sooner had they stepped out of the room than a cacophony of singing burst forth from the main hall. To call it a wail would not be an overstatement.
Once they moved a bit further away, Ah Da looked at Qin Yu in disbelief, “Didn’t you say he could sing?”
