The Second Son of the Marquis Wants to Laze Around-Chapter 63: Eren Wants All the Knights
Chapter 63: Eren Wants All the Knights
"And what if there was a level five monster, but its intellect and resistance were very low—like that of a level one monster? Could you do it then?"
Eren asked, making Raven’s eyes widened, as it was the first time she had ever considered something like that.
But it seemed impossible. There was no known level five monster that was as dumb as a regular one.
Raven hesitated for a moment before answering, "I... well, maybe it’s possible, but... I don’t really know."
Seeing her struggling to answer, Eren narrowed his eyes slightly, causing her body to shiver. Then he stood up from his chair.
"Okay then." He touched the Monobloc chair and stored it back into his system storage.
Turning to the tent’s entrance, he walked forward before glancing back at Raven with a lazy, half-dull gaze.
"Follow me," he said in an orderly tone as he exited the tent.
Raven, sitting there with a confused and dumbfounded expression for a few seconds, finally snapped out of it and quickly running out to follow her boss.
...
As they both arrived at the commander’s tent, they found Gareth sitting behind a desk cluttered with paperwork, a deep frown on his face. Standing beside him was his right-hand knight, Kristoff, who was just about to speak with the commander about something important. However, when the two heard Eren’s request, both men paused, eyes widening in disbelief at what they just heard from the young master’s mouth.
"I’m sorry, Master Eren... but could you repeat that?" Gareth asked, his voice a mix of confusion and disbelief, clearly wanting to confirm he hadn’t misheard.
Eren’s eyes turned into cold, lazy slits, laced with mild annoyance as he repeated himself. "I said, I’m planning to take all the new elite knights with me tomorrow to hunt down a level five monster."
"..."
Silence fell like a heavy blanket across the tent.
Gareth, Kristoff, and even Raven stared at the boy in complete shock, their expressions frozen in disbelief as if trying to decide whether Eren had gone completely insane.
"Of course, I don’t plan to personally fight it with the others," Eren added lazily, as if that somehow made it better. "I just want them to subdue it and pin it down... so that this MILK," he said while casually pointing at Raven, "can tame it."
Both Gareth and Kristoff slowly turned to look at Raven, their expressions questioning, skeptical... maybe even a little disappointed.
"I-It wasn’t my idea!" Raven waved her hands frantically and shook her head in denial like a kid caught up in someone else’s prank.
Gareth let out a long, tired sigh, rubbing the bridge of his nose. A headache was already forming. Every time he had to deal with the young master, things always became complicated. No—scratch that—they would either became worrisome, weird, dangerous, or downright insane.
"May I ask... what is the reason for this? Does it have to be a level Five monster?" he asked cautiously, trying to stay calm.
Eren raised an eyebrow ever so slightly before replying.
"Yes. It has to be a level five monster. As for the reason..." he paused, and for a split second, the words ’It’s none of your business, old man’ danced on the tip of his tongue—but out of pity for the guy, he swallowed them. "...It’s for research," he finally answered flatly.
The commander’s eyes dimmed with suspicion, clearly not convinced.
"You want to take down a level five monster using only the new recruits? That’s... not realistic. Let alone trying to subdue it. Level five monsters are significantly stronger than lower ones, and their resistance to binding is no joke. Even if I send high-ranking elites, it would still be extremely difficult to take one down without killing it," he explained, arms crossed.
"That’s why I suggested using the junior knights—all of them," Eren said, shrugging with feigned innocence. "They’re mostly level three, right? If they all work together, they should be able to take down one level five monster. Simple."
The sarcasm in his voice was thick enough to slice with a knife.
"You should already know what the new knights are capable of by now. I’ve been watching them during training in the forest and their mock battles these past few weeks. Their coordination, skills, and growth are promising. This mission will be a perfect experience to push them further."
Both Gareth and Kristoff blinked at him in stunned silence. For a moment, Eren actually sounded... like a proper noble leader.
But then they remembered the countless reports from knights saying the young master spent most of his time reading book during their team training —completely ignoring their battles—and only observing them one time after the monsters were dead.
So... they weren’t exactly sure how reliable his observations were.
"As for the monster-binding issue..." Eren added.
He reached into his system storage and placed something on the desk in front of Gareth.
The commander’s eyes widened in surprise. It was a gold-colored magic scroll.
Among mages and scholars, it was common knowledge that magic scrolls were ranked by color: starting from grey, then green, blue, purple, and finally gold—the highest tier.
A single gold scroll could easily cast a spell worth more than a hundred thousand KE.
Picking it up with cautious hands, Gareth opened the scroll and read the inscription.
"A binding magic circle..." he murmured under his breath.
He raised his eyes, narrowing them slightly in curiosity. "Where did you even get something like this?"
Eren’s answer was short, flat, and completely unbelievable.
"From my mother."
Gareth stared blankly at him, his expression dull. That’s a lie, he thought instantly. But he didn’t ask any further.
"So... what do you think?" Eren asked, placing a hand on his hip with a half-lazy, half-proud expression.
Gareth went quiet, lost in thought for a few seconds before finally responding, "I’ll bring this up with the rest of the knight captains—"
But before he could finish, Eren cut him off coldly.
"No. I want everyone ready by tomorrow morning."
Gareth frowned. Even Kristoff seemed slightly bothered by how abruptly he was shut down.
"Just tell them to prepare. If anyone’s scared to join me, then leave them behind—or better yet, kick them out. I don’t need cowards or anyone who can’t give a straight answer."
His words made Gareth’s brow furrow further, and Kristoff looked tense too, as if the jab was indirectly aimed at the commander himself.
Eren turned to leave, throwing one final line over his shoulder. "You can discuss the plan with her," he said, gesturing to Raven without looking back. "But if I see tomorrow that the knights aren’t ready, then I’ll go alone."
And with that, he walked off into the evening shadows.
A heavy silence followed.
Gareth sighed again and finally turned his gaze to Raven, who was still standing in the same spot, smiling innocently like none of this was her fault.
"Explain. Now," he said sharply, frowning hard. freёwebnoѵel.com

The next day in the morning, the entire group of elite knight recruits—who had been training in the forest for the past 23 days—were gathered near the dry forest, along with the commander and several senior knights.
---
Last night, the commander and his high-ranking knights, including Kristoff and the team leaders of Teams A to F, which also included Leon, had discussed the young master’s request to take down a level 5 monster.
This news shocked everyone. Some argued that it was a terrible idea, while others agreed—mostly the team leaders—who believed that uniting all the teams to face a strong monster would be a valuable experience. After all, the teams had significantly improved their strength and combat skills thanks to the intense training in the forest. Facing a powerful monster could help them gain even more EXP—to level up their stats.
Leon also believed the idea had merit, especially since he personally needed a stronger challenge to push his limits.
Seeing that the majority were in agreement, Commander Gareth nodded and instructed the team leaders to inform their squads and prepare for the next day.
---
Now, the six teams had become one large unit of fifty-six members, led by Leon, whom Commander Gareth had appointed as the leader. As they were discussing their strategy with Leon, they all noticed the young master approaching.
"That’s surprising," Eren murmured, not expecting everyone to show up.
He could quickly tell that all six teams were present. Truthfully, he’d planned to sneak out of camp alone using illusion magic, without anyone noticing. But seeing the number of knights waiting for him made him change his mind.
’Must be because of the Lazy King’, he thought as he walked toward Commander Gareth, who greeted him.
"Young Master, the knights are ready to depart with you," Gareth said.
"Good. And where is that Digger MILK?" Eren asked, looking around for Raven—only to hear her voice approaching.
"I’m here!"
She was dressed differently today, wearing a new cloak that Commander Gareth had given her for extra protection. Unlike her usual one, this cloak was dark blue and imbued with enhanced protection magic.
Since they were planning to venture deeper into the forest, there was a high chance they would encounter stronger monsters.
Once everyone was assembled, Commander Gareth raised his voice so the knights could hear clearly.
"As all of you have been informed, today is not your usual training session. This is a joint team mission. Your task is to venture deep into the Dry Forest, locate a level 5 monster, and capture it. You’ve spent the past weeks practicing team combat. Today is your first real test to function as a full squad."
"And I hope none of you disappoint—"
Meanwhile, Eren had already stopped listening, feeling bored by the long speech as he closed his eyes to Skip it.
