Chapter 62: Monobloc chair

In the game Valoria Legends, the location of the Aberration Dungeon was never clearly mentioned. After the protagonist cleared it, the dungeon vanished, and can’t be found again. The protagonist didn’t even realize he was inside a dungeon until he reached the middle floors. It was only after escaping that he learned it had been hidden in the Dry Forest.

Normally, when Eren completes conquering a dungeon in the game, that dungeon can be accessed again, but will gives no rewards. But it only happens for pacific dungeons.

So now, Eren had no clue where the dungeon was—only that it had to be somewhere in this forest.

At first, he tried searching the System’s Shop for items that could help him detect it—things like a magical mapping device, a scroll that could locate nearby dungeons, or even a magic map that auto-drew the terrain like in Minecraft.

But there was nothing useful. The shop only offered low-range scanners for enemies, monsters, and minerals.

Eren guessed it must be due to the world’s magic technology level. Since the people of this world hadn’t discovered how to detect hidden dungeons, the system’s shop was also limited by that logic.

But even so—it didn’t make sense.

Why could the system sell modern tech like game consoles, TVs, drones, digital watches, phones, GPS, and more... but not a basic dungeon scanner?

"What a useless system," Eren muttered, sinking deeper into the hot water until it covered half his face. He looked even more disappointed by the fact that the system didn’t have a game-style mapping interface. He had no choice but to use the drone to manually scan each section of the forest and mark it down until he found something.

As for how to find the dungeon, he had at least figured out a method—thanks to the system.

’What a waste of time,’ Eren thought, closing his eyes and submerging himself into the water.

A voice echoed in the distance, almost like a comment.

’Why not use SP then?’

Days continued in the camp as usual. Every morning, the juniors of the elite knights would venture into the forest for training, accompanied by the young master.

Sometimes, the young master would go with a different team each day. This was because each team followed the same general route when heading into the forest. As usual, Eren would stay behind the knights, shadowed by his ever-present babysitter Kristoff, silently observing their battles with monsters while reading his black book. Meanwhile, the Real Eren was busy flying a drone above the forest, capturing images and scanning the area from above.

In the mornings, Eren would join the knight teams. In the afternoons and evenings, he would retreat to his tent, where he’d spend his time playing video games on his console or watching shows and movies. This was his daily routine.

.....

But on the 22nd day, things took an unexpected turn.

Inside Eren’s tent, the young boy sat on a Monobloc chair, one foot resting on his opposite knee, leaning back with a relaxed air. He glanced down at the figure kneeling before him, her head bowed low as if too afraid to meet his gaze. It was none other than Raven, trembling silently in her sweat-soaked clothes.

’Why am I here?’

Raven asked herself, her mind racing with confusion and dread.

---

Not long ago, Eren’s maid, Marie, had visited the commander’s tent in the morning to inform him that the young master wanted the Digger MILK–Raven, as she was known—to come to his tent.

Upon hearing this, Commander Gareth was momentarily confused. He turned his gaze to Raven, who was lounging lazily in a chair, casually munching on an apple. Her face mirrored his confusion, blinking in disbelief.

Seeing her so carefree, Gareth paused for a moment before giving her the order to go. Raven, startled by the sudden command, jumped up from her chair, protesting. She begged Gareth not to send her there, and then asking him to accompany her and even cried, unwilling to face the young master alone.

But Gareth was unmoved. He was tired of her antics. Although she was technically his slave—Ahem, his personal subordinate. Raven had done little more than laze around while he was busy handling reports and managing the knights’ training.

Slightly annoyed, Gareth felt no reluctance in sending her to the young master. He reassured her that nothing would happen, especially after the events of the past. Raven reluctantly obeyed, knowing she had no choice due to the blood contract between them.

In the end, Raven had no choice but to follow Marie to Eren’s tent.

---

Now, she knelt before the very person who had caused her new trauma, staring at him as he lounged in a bizarre-looking white chair.

Eren looked at the shaking woman before him, his expression somewhat puzzled.

He felt the position they are both in would have been weird if he didn’t rested his foot on his other kneel, otherwise, it would look like... Anyway.

With a calm and lazy tone, he spoke.

"Tell me, MILK. How strong are your skills, and what can they do?"

"Huh?"

Raven’s confusion was evident as she stammered out a response, her voice trembling. "I... I’m sorry. I don’t understand what you mean, boss."

Eren narrowed his eyes, annoyance creeping into his voice. "I’m asking about your skills and their abilities. How strong are they, and what can they do? I need details."

Raven, a little flustered, quickly began explaining her abilities and the skill blessings she had received.

While Eren already knew most of this through his System’s Appraisal, it wasn’t enough. The System’s appraisal gave basic information but lacked specific details.

After two minutes of hearing Raven explain her skills and her experiences in using them, Eren finally concluded.

Raven possessed two skills: Monster Taming and Link Connection. Both had more unique features than he had initially realized.

Monster Taming, as mentioned before, allowed her to bind low to mid-tier dungeon monsters through a bond of mana. However, it was clear that the skill worked on any monster weaker than her or close to her level.

The stronger the bond Raven formed, the more obedient the monster would become. The mana consumption depended on the difference in their levels, with stronger monsters requiring more mana and time. For instance, if Raven tried to tame a level 1 monster, it would only take a minute—or even just a few seconds. But if the monster was a level 2, it would take two to seven minutes, and a level 3 monster would require anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes.

If Raven attempted to tame a level 4 monster, which was close to her own level, it could take an hour or more, depending on their resistance and their will (intellect) of the monster. As for monsters above level 4, she couldn’t bind them at all.

Additionally, there was a chance she could fail in binding, though this would only occur with stronger monsters.

Her second skill, Link Connection, allowed her to create a sensory link between herself and her tamed monsters. This connection gave her real-time vision, allowed her to issue commands, and even track their positions. With this link, she could communicate and command her monsters up to a 4 km radius.

"And how many monsters can you have?" Eren asked with interest as he leaned his fist against his chin, his elbow resting on the armchair.

"A-Around four hundred to four hundred forty monsters," Raven answered, making Eren raise an eyebrow with interest.

Although Raven’s in-game character was just a five-star character, her abilities and skills in real life were terrifying to others. Thanks to those skills, she was able to control an army of monsters, making her a very dangerous woman.

Eren’s eyes then turned dull as he recalled Kristoff’s past conversation with him—how he and Leon were able to capture her.

During the convoy attack, while the knights were busy fighting her monsters, the two knights had found her hiding alone with only two level four monsters. After they managed to cut them down, it became easy for Leon to subdue her quickly and defeat her.

She might be a strong opponent, but when fighting alone, she was very weak without her monsters.

"So you’re useless without your babies. No wonder you broke down so easily from just some slaps," Eren murmured with lazy, dull eyes. Raven’s head lowered in pain from the insult, as if stabbed by the words, a red vein twitching on her temple.

She was still pissed by the humiliation he gave her, but at the same time feeling scared from it being mentioned.

"Tell me, is it possible for you to tame a monster above your level—like a level five?"

Hearing Eren’s question, Raven’s eyes widened in surprise and confusion as she shook her head.

"N-No, it’s not possible. A monster even one level above me is too hard to bind or control because of how strong their mental resistance is—not to mention, they’re level five," she explained.

And she was right. Eren had learned that level five monsters were more intelligent and fought differently than normal ones. While level four monsters had some intellect, it was still low—comparable to that of a human child.

"And what if there was a level five monster, but its intellect and resistance were very low—like that of a level one monster? Could you do it then?"

Raven’s eyes widened again. It was the first time she had ever considered something like that, but it seemed impossible. There was no known level five monster that was as dumb as a regular one.

"I... well, maybe it’s possible, but..."
