The Reborn Aristocrat's Daughter-Chapter 842 - 802: Hard Work (1)
Chapter 842: Chapter 802: Hard Work (1)
The family members surrounding the three babies all gathered around when they saw Situ Xin coming out of the delivery room. Loo Yaxin gently touched Situ Xin’s forehead and said, "Our baby has worked hard. But, it’s worth it, bringing us three such adorable babies."
With Loo Yaxin’s lead, everyone started with concern for Situ Xin’s health and gradually turned to discussing about the three newborns. The discussion was fiery and animated.
The nurses tried to remind the family several times. But each time they opened their mouths, the next second, they swallowed their words back down. They didn’t dare, did not dare to joke about their own careers.
If they annoyed these families, they could very well lose their jobs.
So, it wasn’t until Dr. Hu, the head doctor, finished tidying up and came out to see the chaotic scene, that she hesitated a moment. Then, in the gentlest manner she ever used, she said to the families, "Excuse me, this is a hospital. No loud noises are allowed. Also, the new mother has just given birth and is very weak; she needs to rest quietly. Understand?"
Well now, since Dr. Hu has brought up Situ Xin’s health, what could the families say? One by one, they kept their mouths shut understandingly.
Old Master Loo, representing everyone, said, "Okay, let’s allow our baby to rest well. We’ll go back now and prepare, and come visit the baby and the three little ones tomorrow during the day."
Old Master Loo’s words were met with everyone’s agreement. After sending Situ Xin and the three babies back to the ward and leaving Xiao Muli behind, the rest looked back three steps at a time, clearly reluctant to leave.
Once everyone had left, only their family of five remained in the ward; the number had grown rapidly.
Having a child was truly exhausting work, especially having triplets. Though Situ Xin practiced cultivation and had a strong foundation, and the three little babies were well-behaved and didn’t trouble their mother, one can’t ignore that this was threefold the usual amount.
So, Situ Xin was genuinely tired now. "Muli, I’m tired. I’m going to sleep for a bit." freewebnøvel.com
"Alright, you sleep. I’ll keep an eye on the kids." Xiao Muli sat by the hospital bed, gently touching Situ Xin’s forehead with his hand. With a look full of love, he said.
"Okay." Saying this, Situ Xin closed her eyes. She was indeed tired, and within moments, she fell into a deep sleep.
Xiao Muli saw Situ Xin had fallen asleep and finally turned his attention to the three new baby cots in the ward. Although they were triplets, they did not look alike at all. At least, Xiao Muli, as a father, could tell at a glance that the three babies looked completely different.
And just now, his attention had been all on his wife Situ Xin, so he didn’t hear which one the nurse said was the eldest, which was the second child, and which was the youngest. As a result, even now, besides knowing he had two sons and a daughter, he had no clue, for example, which number his daughter was.
Xiao Muli wasn’t someone who had never seen a newborn. Nor was he unaccustomed to seeing just-born infants. However, he had never before seen newborns as beautiful as their children, right from birth. All he had ever heard was from his grandfather, who said that when his wife Situ Xin entered the world, she was utterly unlike any other newborn—born strikingly beautiful.
Back then, he had felt a tinge of regret, regretting that he hadn’t witnessed his wife just after she was born. But now, as he gazed upon the love embodied between him and his wife Situ Xin, all of his previous regrets dissipated like smoke in the air.
Xiao Muli quietly stood up and walked over to the crib, closely observing the three little ones lying inside, sound asleep. These three youngsters all had their eyes tightly shut, but their little mouths were puckered, occasionally quivering. The most restless of them all were their little hands, balled up into fists and placed at either side of their tiny heads, occasionally twitching. What made Xiao Muli curious, however, was that even though these three little ones looked quite different, their sleeping postures were surprisingly similar.
Looking at these three, with the blood of him and his wife Situ Xin flowing in their bodies, his heart melted into a puddle of softness. If it weren’t for the kids being too small, Xiao Muli would unceremoniously plant kisses on all three little beings.
Xiao Muli whispered to the three little ones, "Babies, Daddy and Mommy’s treasures, you all have to grow up healthy. Daddy and Mommy will always dote on you, love you."
Xiao Muli had been worried that the infants would suddenly wake up in the middle of the night and cry, so he insisted on staying awake, not letting sleep take over. But, having been busy all day yesterday, plus as soon as he got home, Situ Xin was about to give birth, which led to the hospital rush and all the tumult that lasted until late at night. Once Situ Xin was in the delivery room, the pressure on Xiao Muli was extraordinary, making his day far more exhausting than when he’d follow mercenaries on missions, staying awake for days and nights on end.
And now, his eyes alternating between his wife Situ Xin and the three infants in the crib, Xiao Muli eventually couldn’t resist and drifted off to sleep with his eyes closed. However, Xiao Muli was a light sleeper; any slight noise would awaken him.
Indeed, at 6 a.m., Xiao Muli’s eyes snapped open as the three little treasures in the crib began to cry. Hearing their cries, he sprang from the bed, "swoosh," rushing to the crib and picking up the one closest to him, cooing, "Oh, Baby, don’t cry, don’t cry." Xiao Muli rocked the one in his arms while his eyes turned to the other two babies in the cribs. It was the first time he earnestly wished he had two more arms.
The commotion woke Situ Xin, who had been sleeping soundly. She sat up groggily and asked Xiao Muli, "Are the babies crying?"
"Yeah, I don’t know why the little ones suddenly started crying." Xiao Muli knew nothing about child care, and despite having read many books on raising children beforehand, he still did not understand how to take care of babies.
"Oh, the little ones might be hungry." As Situ Xin became more alert, she sensed the meaning conveyed by the three treasures. "Hand me the one in your arms first, I’ll breastfeed him."
"Okay." Upon hearing Situ Xin’s words, Xiao Muli carefully handed over the little treasure in his arms to Situ Xin.
And a miracle happened at that moment—as soon as Xiao Muli passed the baby into Situ Xin’s arms, the little one he was holding immediately stopped crying. And, astonishingly, the other two in their cribs also ceased their crying.
