The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 70
"Father said he would be attending himself and told us not to come. What were we supposed to do?"
Seo Eun-hee’s flustered voice came through the phone loud and clear.
Having stepped outside to take the call, Se-heon held the phone to his ear while glancing through the gap in the door.
Inside, the sudden appearance of Chairman Kang Hak-jung had clearly unsettled Tae-seo’s parents. They forced awkward smiles in an attempt to mask their surprise. Meanwhile, Tae-seo had recovered from his initial shock in an instant and was now chatting away with Chairman Kang like nothing had happened.
"No wonder he was so insistent on setting the meeting quickly. Who would’ve thought he planned to attend in person?"
Seeing Chairman Kang actively engaging in conversation with Tae-seo, Se-heon shook his head.
"I just hope he doesn’t end up disliking Tae-seo. You know how high his expectations are for you."
Se-heon knew exactly how Chairman Kang viewed him—and that was precisely why he knew the chairman would take a great interest in his choice of partner.
"If that’s what you’re worried about, there’s no need."
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
"I’ll call you later."
Ending the call, Se-heon tucked his phone into his pocket and stepped back into the room.
For a moment, all eyes turned to him, but conversation resumed almost immediately. Se-heon sat down, lifting his gaze as he felt Tae-seo’s stare.
Catching his eye, Tae-seo parted his lips, clearly mouthing silent words at him.
It was cute enough to make Se-heon chuckle.
"Hey, I’m talking to you, and all you do is laugh?"
Tae-seo muttered in annoyance, thinking Se-heon was mocking him.
"Hm? Tae-seo, what did you just say?"
"Nothing."
Kim Mi-kyung turned to look at him, making Tae-seo hurriedly wave his hands. There was no need to explain that he had been asking where Se-heon had gone.
Just as he was about to dismiss it entirely, Se-heon spoke up.
"I was on the phone with my mother."
"Ah..."
That explained it.
Tae-seo nodded as Se-heon poured water into his empty glass.
While Tae-seo sipped his drink, the conversation between their parents resumed.
"We only exchanged greetings briefly at the company’s founding party. Who would have [N O V E L I G H T] thought we’d be meeting again like this?"
"Fate is a funny thing."
"It’s reassuring to hear you say that. I was so surprised when I found out Se-heon was looking after Tae-seo. Did you already know he was seeing someone?"
Most of the conversation was between Chairman Kang and Kim Mi-kyung, with Yoon Seok-hoon occasionally nodding in agreement.
At Kim Mi-kyung’s question, Chairman Kang’s gaze landed on Tae-seo.
Tae-seo instinctively smiled in response.
He was curious about the answer himself.
But the one who answered wasn’t Chairman Kang—it was Se-heon.
"The chairman knew before anyone else."
Se-heon turned to Chairman Kang as if waiting for confirmation.
"We met at the hospital. Isn’t that right?"
"You weren’t well, so I visited out of concern."
"That’s not the day I’m referring to."
Se-heon shook his head.
Chairman Kang feigned ignorance, acting as if he had no idea what Se-heon meant.
Se-heon narrowed his eyes slightly.
No matter how stern he usually was, at moments like these, he was just a grandfather teasing his grandson.
"You met Tae-seo on the day he went for his check-up."
"Huh? How do you know that?"
It wasn’t Chairman Kang who reacted—it was Tae-seo. His eyes widened in shock.
"Your pheromones lingered around him. There was no way I wouldn’t notice."

On the day Tae-seo had gone for his first check-up, another person’s pheromones had faintly surrounded him as he waited in the café.
"I even confirmed it with Gyu-min. It was you, wasn’t it?"
"Yes, but I didn’t approach him because he was your lover."
"I can explain that, Se-heon."
Before Se-heon could press the matter further, Tae-seo quickly interjected.
Clearly not satisfied with Chairman Kang’s vague response, Se-heon had been about to get a clear answer—but once again, Tae-seo cut him off.
"He said he just couldn’t ignore me. He spoke to me because I caught his attention. That means he liked me from the start, right?"
Tae-seo turned to his parents and excitedly recounted his first meeting with Chairman Kang.
He practically radiated enthusiasm, looking like an eager child showing off.
"Not just then—he even came to see me while I was hospitalized. That means he likes me, right? He wouldn’t have gone out of his way if he didn’t. If he was just curious, he could’ve had someone investigate me instead."
"At this rate, someone might think he’s your grandfather instead of Se-heon’s."
Kim Mi-kyung responded with amusement, watching her son’s excitement.
Tae-seo, however, took it even further.
"He likes me more than Se-heon. That’s enough for me."
Kim Mi-kyung smiled at her son’s playful antics, while Se-heon barely managed to suppress his laughter.
He had no doubt—Tae-seo was doing this on purpose.
"Oh? Is that so?"
Se-heon played along, curious to see how far Tae-seo would take it.
His skepticism must have shown, because Tae-seo turned to Chairman Kang, looking expectant.
"Grandfather, tell them."
Tae-seo gave Chairman Kang an imploring look, silently asking for his support.
If Chairman Kang denied it now, it would look like Tae-seo had been fooling himself this entire time.
With everyone’s eyes now on him, Chairman Kang met Tae-seo’s gaze.
He knew exactly what Tae-seo was doing.
The boy was remarkably sharp—he knew Chairman Kang already liked him, but he still wanted an official confirmation.
After a brief pause, Chairman Kang gave his answer.
"Since we want Tae-seo to join the family as soon as possible, let’s set a date. Tae-seo, when would you prefer?"
"Any date you choose is fine with me, Grandfather."
The moment Chairman Kang openly expressed his approval, the tension in the room melted away.
Tae-seo, who had worried about the family meeting being stiff and uncomfortable, was now carrying the entire conversation as if he were the host.
And yet, no one seemed to mind.
Instead of feeling overbearing, his bright energy had transformed the atmosphere into something warm and inviting.
Unable to hold back any longer, Se-heon turned to Tae-seo and asked,
"Yoon Tae-seo, are you made of sugar or something?"
"Why? Do I seem that sweet to you?"
Se-heon immediately corrected the misunderstanding.
"You already melted from Grandfather’s words."
"...You shouldn’t be jealous of your own grandfather, Se-heon."
Tae-seo had been doing his best to make the atmosphere warm and pleasant, but now Se-heon was poking holes in his efforts. He tried to calm him down, but Se-heon ignored him completely and spoke at his own pace.
"By the way, since we’re on the topic, you were asking what made me fall for Tae-seo and why I wanted to marry him..."
No one had actually asked that.
Every pair of eyes in the room turned toward Se-heon, filled with a mixture of disbelief and curiosity, but he remained completely unfazed.
"Hyung? Why are you bringing that up now...?"
Tae-seo had originally suggested this as a way to smooth over any tense moments that might arise. He had told Se-heon to step in with compliments at the right time—but instead, Se-heon was forcing the moment into existence, stitching together a conversation that didn’t even exist.
And then, with a completely straight face, Se-heon repeated Tae-seo’s own words back at him.
"I was drawn to him because he’s handsome. He was so charming I couldn’t stop talking to him. He’s cute and sharp, so I couldn’t look away, and before I knew it, I fell for him. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into the world, Mother."
Kim Mi-kyung almost gasped but quickly covered her mouth with her hand.
And Se-heon wasn’t done.
Adding his own touch, he continued,
"I used to think falling for someone was complicated, but Tae-seo made me realize something. The desire to have someone is the same as loving them."
As he finished, Se-heon turned to look at Tae-seo.
Tae-seo, who had expected nothing more than a joke, was completely caught off guard.
His expression was one of pure shock.
"I don’t have a bouquet hidden under the table, but I’ll get you something better later."
"Wait, I only brought up the bouquet as a joke, in case things got awkward—"
Before Tae-seo could even finish, Chairman Kang chimed in.
"Flowers don’t last long anyway. I’ll get you something better. Just tell me what you want."
"Really?"
Tae-seo’s face instantly lit up, making Se-heon scowl.
All he had wanted was for Chairman Kang to say he liked Tae-seo—that would have been enough.
But now, it looked like the old man was about to steal his role entirely.
Se-heon raised his voice slightly, making sure to pull Tae-seo’s attention back to him.
"That’s not what I meant. I wasn’t just talking about flowers. Whatever you need, I’ll take care of it."
Tae-seo, looking genuinely touched, gazed at Se-heon with admiration.
Se-heon smiled ever so slightly and turned to look at Chairman Kang—as if to say, See? That’s how it’s done.
Chairman Kang let out a short scoff.
"I have more money than you."
"That’s true, Grandfather has more."
Tae-seo nodded easily, making Se-heon’s scowl deepen.
This time, he spoke even more firmly.
"I may not be able to compete with Grandfather, but I can more than provide for Tae-seo."
"Oh? So you do know you can’t compete with me."
Chairman Kang smirked.
"...Give it time. I’ll surpass you soon enough."
"And in the meantime, do you really think you can buy him everything he wants?"
"Tae-seo won’t lack anything with me."
"That’s not the point. I can get him whatever he wants, right now. Tae-seo, just tell me what you need."
With that, Chairman Kang called for his secretary, instructing them to ensure that Tae-seo could contact them whenever he wanted.
It was clear where the power had shifted.
And then, Tae-seo delivered the final blow.
"Alright! I’ll just ask Grandfather for it, then."
It was practically a declaration of Chairman Kang’s victory.
Se-heon, visibly irritated, took a long sip of water to mask his frustration.
Tae-seo, watching this, burst out laughing.
And as his laughter filled the room, even Kim Mi-kyung and Yoon Seok-hoon, who had been quietly observing, couldn’t hold back their own amusement.
Wiping the corners of his eyes, Tae-seo giggled.
"Hyung, aren’t you just the cutest thing ever?"
Se-heon’s jaw tensed.
"You get all worked up over nothing—what do I do with my adorable Se-heon hyung?"
