The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 69
"I'll visit the hotel from time to time."
With his phone pressed to his ear, Tae-seo kept his eyes on Kang Se-heon. After finishing their meal, Se-heon had cooled the rooibos tea and placed a cup in front of each of them before taking out his phone. Right on cue, his phone vibrated, and after checking the caller ID, Se-heon stood up.
Tae-seo watched as he signaled that he would be stepping out to take the call. His movements were relaxed yet purposeful—always composed, always unhurried. That ease could make it seem like he was indifferent, but in reality, Se-heon was incredibly observant.
'There’s nothing about me that he doesn’t know.'
Tae-seo absentmindedly grasped his glass with his free hand. Condensation had formed on the outside, making it look refreshingly cold. Earlier, the same tea had been steaming hot, but now it was cool. He didn’t even have to ask—Se-heon had deliberately done that, knowing it was good for pregnant Omegas.
His gaze shifted toward Se-heon’s cup.
‘He’s not even drinking coffee anymore.’
Tae-seo had stopped drinking coffee because of his pregnancy, but Se-heon had no such restrictions. And yet, at some point, he had started drinking the same things as Tae-seo or choosing different types of tea instead.
'Observant, considerate...'
Sometimes, Se-heon even noticed things Tae-seo himself hadn’t thought of. He was reliable. So much so that it was hard to find any faults in him.
Leaning against the sofa, Tae-seo rested on his left side and openly watched Se-heon. As he listened to him speak in a low voice, he briefly considered trying to guess who he was talking to—but then he abruptly remembered that he was on a call himself.
"Ah—no, no, she’s treating me well."
Right. He was in the middle of a call, too.
When he hadn’t responded, Kim Mi-kyung had immediately started worrying, sounding like she was about to summon a secretary. Hastily reassuring her, Tae-seo realized he had completely forgotten about his conversation while staring at Se-heon. He chuckled at his own ridiculousness.
Noticing his laughter, Se-heon silently mouthed, "What’s so funny?"
Tae-seo didn’t bother answering and instead patted the seat next to him.
"I’ll call you again later."
[Alright, rest well. Let’s meet ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) soon.]

Ending the call, Tae-seo leaned toward Se-heon, who had returned to his seat. Se-heon, still listening to the person on the other end of the line, met Tae-seo’s gaze but didn’t stop him. It was as if he had known all along that Tae-seo had been staring at him.
Tae-seo leaned in even closer, studying Se-heon’s eyes.
Under the sunlight, what usually appeared pitch-black now revealed a deep dark chocolate hue.
"I’ll make the preparations."
With that, Se-heon ended his call, lowering his phone. Then, he suddenly reached out and grasped Tae-seo’s chin, closing the distance between them.
Tae-seo’s eyes widened.
"Why do you keep staring at me?"
"I’m just looking."
"No other reason?"
"None at all. Actually, if anything, I should be asking why you’re holding my chin. That seems way more suspicious."
Feigning innocence, Tae-seo tried to deflect, but Se-heon simply tilted his head slightly.
From this close, Tae-seo could see every tiny detail—the long eyelashes, the faint crease between his brows. The proximity reminded him of the time they had kissed, and suddenly, his lips felt dry.
Just a slight movement, and their lips would touch.
"We left the hospital, where anyone could walk in at any moment, and now we’re home, alone..."
Se-heon’s voice was slow, unhurried. Tae-seo could feel the air between them shifting. His lips were dry, but licking them felt too dangerous—like it would be an open invitation.
"I thought maybe we should enjoy the mood a little."
"I was just looking at you."
Tae-seo leaned back, creating some much-needed space between them. Once there was enough room to breathe, he exhaled through his nose and bit his lower lip.
"Stop sneaking up on me like that. At this rate, we’re going to end up with a second kid."
The first one hadn’t even been born yet, but it wasn’t entirely an impossible scenario. That was just how dangerous Se-heon’s presence was—how easily he could sweep Tae-seo up in his pace.
Tae-seo shut his eyes tightly, silently signaling for him to stop.
For a fleeting moment, Se-heon’s lips curled into a smirk before it quickly disappeared. He had only been teasing because he found it cute how intently Tae-seo was watching him, but his reaction was so strong that it made him want to mess with him even more.
Gripping the back of Tae-seo’s head, Se-heon pulled him forward and pressed their lips together.
Tae-seo gasped, parting his lips, and in that brief moment, Se-heon slipped his tongue inside before pulling away just as quickly.
"By the way, sweetheart, are we sleeping in separate rooms?"
Tae-seo’s eyes went wide before rapidly blinking.
His heart pounded wildly against his ribs as he swallowed hard, trying to collect himself.
Forget all of Se-heon’s good points. He had one fatal flaw.
He was completely, utterly infuriating.
****
Tae-seo fidgeted with his tie awkwardly.
"I didn’t expect this to happen so suddenly."
A family meeting like this was supposed to take time—checking schedules, finding the right location... It wasn’t something that happened overnight. But somehow, here they were.
"This is really a formal family meeting, right?"
"We told them we were getting married, and now our parents are meeting. That qualifies, doesn’t it?"
Se-heon stepped forward, gently lowering Tae-seo’s hands and taking hold of his tie himself. Since Tae-seo still wasn’t used to tying it properly, Se-heon did it for him as he spoke.
"Did you arrange this? Did you push for an earlier meeting?"
Tae-seo suspected that Se-heon had orchestrated this.
Right after he had been discharged and moved in with Se-heon, the family meeting had been scheduled for that very weekend. Se-heon had simply said he would "take care of it," and now, here they were.
Tae-seo wasn’t just looking at him—he was interrogating him.
It was a fair suspicion, considering how abruptly he had been introduced to Se-heon’s parents the first time.
With a measured gaze, Se-heon smoothed down Tae-seo’s slightly tousled hair.
"This time, it wasn’t me."
"Then who?"
"I connected our parents so they could talk directly, and they were the ones who set the date. They said there was no reason to delay."
Se-heon had simply agreed to arrange a suitable location once the time was set. That was the extent of his involvement.
Satisfied that Tae-seo’s tie was properly knotted and his hair was neat, Se-heon stepped back and returned to his seat.
Tae-seo, watching him sit down, took a sip of water to moisten his dry throat.
The private room they were in was quiet and tidy. It was also familiar—he had been here several times before. Since the venue for the family meeting had been set at the hotel, at least he didn’t have to go somewhere unfamiliar.
But... what were family meetings like in dramas again?
"Come to think of it, we should coordinate our answers in advance."
"I don’t mind anytime. But you’re being quite bold, considering people might walk in at any moment."
"...I meant we should coordinate what we say, not literally kiss right now."
"Ah, that."
"Family meetings are always full of power struggles, right? Each side tries to prove their kid is the best. They argue over the dowry. The children stay silent, too afraid to speak up in front of their parents."
Tae-seo had no intention of sitting through such an uncomfortable ordeal. After taking another sip of water, he continued,
"So, when the time comes for you to say something nice about me, make sure you do it properly."
"Something nice?"
"You know, like when they ask, 'Why do you want to marry Tae-seo?' or 'What made you fall for him?'"
Tae-seo tapped his cheek thoughtfully before smirking.
"You could say, 'I was drawn to him because he’s handsome. He was so charming I couldn’t stop talking to him. He’s cute and sharp, so I couldn’t look away, and before I knew it, I fell for him. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into the world.'"
As Tae-seo listed off his exaggerated praise, Se-heon’s expression remained completely neutral. By now, he was so used to Tae-seo’s shamelessness that it didn’t even faze him anymore.
"Honestly, when I moved into your house, you didn’t even say a single word about living together. This is your chance. Go ahead, say it as much as you want."
It was an addiction.
Hearing Se-heon confess once only made him want to hear it again. But even though Se-heon had promised to confess as much as he wanted once he woke up, he hadn’t said a word since.
What choice did he have? He’d just have to keep poking until he got a response.
"What if you surprise me by pulling out a bouquet from under the table?"
Tae-seo peeked under the table, pretending to check for hidden flowers, making Se-heon burst into laughter.
"I’ll remember all that and say it exactly as you asked."
Rising from his seat, Se-heon spoke with a light chuckle. Tae-seo got up as well, but at that moment, the door opened, and two familiar figures walked in.
Seeing them, Tae-seo’s face lit up.
"Mother."
It was Kim Mi-kyung and Yoon Seok-hoon.
"You look well. Have you been doing okay?"
"Se-heon takes good care of me."
At his answer, Kim Mi-kyung gently stroked his cheek before turning to Se-heon.
"We didn’t have to meet here..."
"It was just the most suitable location."
It just so happened to be Tae-seo’s hotel.
It was also convenient, as neither Kim Mi-kyung nor Yoon Seok-hoon had to travel far. Once they sat down beside Tae-seo, the only empty seat left was the one next to Se-heon.
"I’ll call to check where they are."
"No need," Kim Mi-kyung said, stopping him. "There’s still time before the meeting starts, and they’re busy people. We can wait."
Hearing that, Se-heon lowered his phone, though it was clear he still planned to call if they didn’t show up on time.
Instead, they passed the time chatting about how things had been lately. Then, the door opened again, and a hotel staff member stepped inside.
"They have arrived."
The staff member didn’t just announce it—they stepped aside and held the door open, allowing the guests to enter.
Everyone in the room turned their attention toward the doorway, waiting for Se-heon’s parents to appear.
Footsteps echoed in the hallway.
Sitting farthest from the door, Tae-seo craned his neck to look.
'It’s about to start.'
Once Se-heon’s parents arrived, he’d greet them properly. If they had heard about his hospitalization, he’d reassure them that he was fine now. He mentally prepared himself to handle the situation smoothly.
And then—
"...Huh?"
Tae-seo’s surprised voice broke the silence, expressing exactly what everyone else was thinking.
The people standing at the door were not Kang Jin-han and Seo Eun-hee.
"Grandfather?"
It was none other than Chairman Kang Hak-jung.
