Chapter 110: Rise

The slashes converged on the Holy demon, the slashes stabbed into it’s body and cut it in half only for flames to extend from the two separated parts and merge them together again.

Rem had already expected this to happen... his focus was somewhere else, since the System recognized it as a monster, it was bound to have a magic stone somewhere and if he directed all of his attacking force toward that single spot, he would be able to destroy the Monster and extract it’s soul.

’My soul sickle can’t reach it, it’ll burn to oblivion,’ Rem thought while taking a step backward, the next moment, his body became engulfed by harsh flames – his pupils dilated as the white flames engulfed his entire body, ’I couldn’t react in time,’

Rem quickly turned his entire body into a slime, his cloak being burned by the intense flames – burned beyond recognition at this point. Rem escaped from the flames and turned back into human, having consumed a lot of magical energy to ensure that his body healed up perfectly.

As soon as he turned back into a human, two sizzling orbs of flame tore through the air heading to him but Rem leapt out of their way, running across the wall while firing Wind bullets at the Holy demon. Multiple monsters made of sand materialized and lunged at the Holy demon, only to burn into ashes. Multiple beams of flame tore through the air heading to Rem who was running along the wall in an attempt to escape... the beams crashed into the wall, razing the spots where they landed.

Rem bit his lips and leaped off the wall, landing on the ground and rushing out of the room. More beams threatened to hit him but Rem dodged them and left the room, the Holy demon followed quickly and they continued the cycle, destroying the dungeon bit by bit before reaching the Boss doors.

Rem opened them and leapt out of the way, a large blast of flame engulfed the Boss and destroyed it in an instant. Rem absorbed the Boss’s soul and over the corpse, entering a combat stance. The tension in the air was tangible as both beings stood off against each other.

This was the final stand of both beings and Rem’s body flared with maximum soul energy, web-like cracks spread across the ground below him but his eyes widened in surprise as he felt the Holy Demon’s presence solidify... before it had been an embodiment of erratic flames but over time, it’s erratic body had begun to solidify turning into a human-like body.

Even with that, it would still be hard for Rem to deal with it but he was now much more confident than before. An orb of green light shot into his arm and glowed, turning into the Heavenly Crossbow... Rem looked at the Holy Demon who waited for him to come near and a small grin tugged at his lips, his murderous intent was let loose as he uttered a single word – intending to turn the battle his way.

"Rise!"

Several portals emerged from the ground, monsters clawing their way out of them and their green eyes locking onto the Holy Demon... Rem had chosen to summon the Death wolves, goblins, and Hellhounds at first.

The monsters charged forth, much more powerful than any monster that roamed this dungeon – they let out their respective cries before unleashing their skills on the Holy Demon. The attacks dealt an intense amount of damage, ripping off both arms and legs of the Holy demon but the flames regenerated.

A Hellhound, adorned in green armor charged toward the embodiment of holy flames, it’s mouth emitting soundwaves which shook the ground and sent ripples as well as shockwaves across the room but the Holy Demon stood, it’s flames unwavering as it brought forth a powerful burst of holy flame, engulfing the Hellhound and shooting toward Rem who was in the process of cocking up his weapon.

Before the Holy flames could reach him, four portals opened behind Rem and green metallic tendrils shot out, stabbing into the ground in front of him and defending him from the fiery onslaught.

The Hellhound which had been decimated shot out of the ground and into the air, throwing three slashes at the Holy demon, the holy demon created a wall of flames in front of it but the green slashes powered through and decapitated the demon... only for the flames to connect the head back to the body.

Goblin soldiers surrounded the Demon, each of them bringing their batons forward and smashing into the body of the Holy demon, no matter how many times the Holy demon destroyed them – they still came back to life. The real trouble wasn’t the goblin hoards but rather the other monsters, Drodlings, Death wolves, the Hobogoblin – each and every Monster Rem had faced emerged from the ground and attacked.

While the onslaught continued, Rem pulled his arm back and began gathering magical energy, red hot flames pouring out of his palm forcefully alongside blue sparks of lightning, they were soon wrapped by the rumbling of wind as the Apprentice maintained focus.

"I need to destroy the body with a single spell," Rem muttered, "If I destroy everything then there won’t be any way for it to regenerate,"

The Death wolf boss appeared in front of him, letting off a huge roar as it released it’s murderous intent, pressing down against the Holy demon – Rem poured more magical energy into the Death wolf’s presence, the potency of it’s murderous intent... Rem willed the beast to move forward and attack and that was what it did, shooting off the ground and appearing in front of the Holy demon in a span of seconds.

It compressed a crimson orb above it’s snout, filling it up with magical energy and shooting it at the Holy demon... sensing the danger within the orb, the Holy demon tried destroying it by blasting it with Holy flames – despite the Holy flames working at maximum force, the orb wasn’t destroyed and it soon slammed into the Holy demon, a powerful explosion being formed at once.

Every monster in the vicinity pulled back as the intensity of the Explosion increased, the Death wolf boss kept staring at the smoky remains of the explosion with it’s teeth clenched.
