Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1262: Forced Marriage
So, is he really here to discuss cooperation?
Janelle Mills saw Trevor nod, then he gave her a meaningful look before following Mr. William upstairs.
Janelle Mills recalled his look just now, pondering over his situation.
"Janelle, what were you talking about with Mr. Trevor just now?" Demi came over, cheerfully taking her arm and curiously asking.
"Nothing much," Janelle Mills replied superficially, but she knew very well that this man might be like a lamb in a lion’s den.
But Trevor isn’t a lamb! At least he’s a wolf!
So, what kind of help does he need from her?
In the study upstairs.
Trevor followed Mr. William into the room. The study was large and decorated in a vintage style. Several rows of bookshelves were neatly arranged, filled with various rare editions of books.
William sat down at the broad desk and gestured for Trevor to sit opposite.
Trevor did not sit. He raised his eyes, and through the floor-to-ceiling window, he could see the scene at the manor’s entrance—a dozen black-clothed guards on duty.
Such strict guarding wasn’t there when he came in.
William glanced at Trevor, completely unconcerned about what he might know.
Trevor quickly retracted his gaze, took out the contract he had brought along, and handed it over with both hands.
William casually opened a drawer, took something out, and also handed it over calmly.
A marriage agreement??
With a glance, Trevor saw the words on it. He had only been guessing, and when the guess was confirmed, even his strong heart was inevitably shocked for a moment, "Wil..."
"Sign this," William said, handing over a pen while raising his eyes, "There’s no need to discuss the cooperation; it’s a deal."
Trevor was left speechless, feeling that he was being especially disrespected!
"How about it?" William seemed to have him cornered, "Let’s not talk about a win-win cooperation. Just sign this contract, and you’ll not only get the project funds, but there are also a lot of additional benefits."
Trevor pressed his thin lips together slightly, his gaze deep.
"Hahaha!" William stood up and walked around the desk, patting him on the shoulder, "With my relationship with your father, asking him for a son-in-law couldn’t be an excessive request? Besides, my daughter is worthy of you!"
"She is still a child," Trevor bluntly said, "I’m already thirty."
William laughed and shook his head, "CEO Kingston is also 12 years older than Mrs. Kingston."
He seemed completely indifferent about age, "Demi is already an adult. What successful man wouldn’t want a young woman as his wife?"
Trevor gave him a look, his gaze suddenly darkening.
"I think you two are a perfect match!" William said to himself, "Demi could give you some help in your career; she’s very smart."
William continued, "Trevor, I’ve set my sights on you for a long time. I’ve always wanted you as my son-in-law. The wedding is set for tomorrow."
"Thank you for your appreciation," Trevor reached out to take back the contract, his lips curling into a cool smile, "The project discussion is off; keep your marriage agreement."
William’s face changed, "What? Do you think you can leave here?"
"Could I lose my life here?" Trevor asked.
"That won’t happen," William clearly stated, "But you can’t leave through that gate, and the signal is blocked. I’ve prepared for your refusal, but the wedding can’t be canceled; the invitations have already been sent out."
"Forcing people is your style?" Trevor retorted.
"Is marrying my daughter so difficult?" William looked at him displeased, somewhat puzzled, "Demi is about to graduate from Crestwood University; she is fluent in eight languages, skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Most importantly, she is pure and has never had a boyfriend, and you are single too!"
"I have a girlfriend," Trevor told him, "I have someone else in my heart. Doesn’t that bother you?"
