The Monster Monarch System-Chapter 104: Masked Man’s Reappearance
Upon hearing the scream, Rem smiled at the man and clenched his palm around his shortsword – echoing with ethereal soul energy.
"Are you sure...?" Rem asked, his voice dripping with murderous intent, Ruby stared at Rem’s face unable to comprehend his expression.....
’Is he... smiling?’ Ruby thought while a shiver ran down her spine – she blinked, she had never seen him smile, yet he was and it gave her chills... Rem took a step forward and the pressure pressed upon them increased. With each step he took forward, he felt different to Ruby... more and more like a monster.
And then he stopped right in front of the "Captain", his Shortsword cocked... The captain’s surroundings turned black, the murderous intent pushed against him like water, drenching him below in a sea of black... unable to breathe, unable to see.
The man’s body slammed against the ground, blood escaping profusely from the wound. The effects of Murderous intent vanished and Ruby felt an intense pressure leave her.
"Rem..." She spoke but grunted, her other hand massaged her left shoulder which sent shockwaves of mind-numbing pain all over her body.
"You didn’t betray me," Rem said as he leaned over to the Captain, taking a hold of the storage ring on the dismembered hand and wore it, "Let’s get out of this dungeon,"
Ruby was speechless, her eyes quivered as she observed the open boss room doors, the Spider boss that she had once seen standing tall and proudly was now strewn across the ground like a broken toy, blue blood painting the ground and the Cavaliers as well as the Fire magus that she had problems with countering – they were all on the ground, several slash marks going through their bodies and even some parts of their bodies decapitated... She didn’t know what to say, no words escaped her lips but Ruby welled them out from within her – a question that she wanted to be sure of.
"Are you a fake grader?" She asked while Rem looted the body of the captain, "The Captain and the members of the party, they were fake graders and really powerful but you beat them at once..."
Rem shrugged.
"It all depends," He said, his gray emotionless eyes glowing as he found a coin in the pocket of the man.
"Depends?" Ruby asked and Rem nodded.
"It’s a secret between you and I," Rem said while tucking the coin into his pocket, "I’m sure you won’t try leaking what happened in the dungeon today out to the authorities,"
"Yes, I’m not stupid," Ruby said, "I’m thankful I brought you along... I would have died if it wasn’t for you,"
Rem looked at her and shrugged.
"It’s not a big deal," He said, ’I should be thankful as well, you gave me quite a lot of good harvests if I do say so... That last battle was the push I needed and the monster gave me a pretty good mutated skill as well so it’s my win,’
Rem extended a hand and helped her up. If she had been one of the people that betrayed him and left him with the Boss alone then he would have killed her without hesitation but she wasn’t...
"But you killed the boss by yourself... it was pretty strong," Ruby said and her knees bucked.
"It wasn’t that strong," Rem said and caught her, lifting her up his arms and carrying the Magus in a princess-style fashion, "Now let’s leave here,"
Rem dashed forward, right into the portal... Reality distorted once again as he reached the blue exit portal and he felt his surroundings warp, Rem blinked once again and found himself outside the gate... the blue portal began receding, it’s gigantic shape shrinking until it eventually vanished.
"Now it’s to explain this to the GUILD," Rem muttered under his breath, "And sell these dungeon crystals to them as well,"
If Rem had looked down, he would have seen Ruby’s cheeks adorned with a crimson blush.

In the end, the Reifall town’s GUILD had to accept the explanation of the party’s death, the boss killing the others was a regular occurrence in a dungeon... the deaths of Cavaliers and even Magus were to be expected in a dungeon and nobody dwelled on it for too long.
Rem finished selling the stones and gained nothing less than 2 silvers, a mutated Magical stone was worth after all. Rem had given one silver to the grass Magus whose eyes shone.
And now he was walking toward Orion alone, even being on the level of an A-rank wasn’t enough for him...
’I need more power,’ Rem thought, the law existed to ensure that people wouldn’t get so much power without repercussions and now Rem desired strength – before he had thought that C-grade bosses wouldn’t be able to give him a run for his money but that changed when he met the Spider today and now he was curious, ’I’ll go and solo some dungeons tomorrow,’

Arya raised a cup of tea to her lips sitting in Orion café, she hadn’t given up on her goal to kill the masked law-breaker, instead she was conducting an immense amount of research on him but coming up short each time... there didn’t seem to be any information of him anywhere, his whereabouts just seemed to vanish right after Walter died.
’When am I going to get a lead?’ She thought as she calmly drank down the warm liquid.
The doors of Orion café were suddenly pushed open as a smaller girl rushed in, she looked to be Rem’s age.
A girl with soft pink hair that falls gently to her shoulders, her deep silver eyes shine in an ethereal light which make it hard to discern her emotions. She’s wearing a dark blue outfit decorated with tiny, shimmering stars which make her look very beautiful. On her head is an oversized magician’s hat, so big it nearly swallows her whole... Arya always laughed at the spectacle, it was funny to see someone walking with a hat far bigger than their head.
She was Arya’s new assistant, a Magus in the making and she had a lot of potential in Light magic.
"Miss Arya, I heard from some Cavaliers that the Masked man was sighted in Reifall," She whispered, "Although it seems that he has escaped into one of the dungeons and the forces are not sure which one,"
Upon hearing that, the cup lit up in a holy flame... burning the cup of tea into ashes which shimmered in the air around her, a wicked smile spread across her lips as the revenge she always wanted to accomplish – it was within her reach.
"Let’s go Julie," Arya said while stomping her feet against the ground impatiently, she slammed a bunch of coins onto the table, each of them emitting an ethereal bronze light.
’That should be enough to settle for the destroyed cup,’ Arya thought as she stormed out of the Café with Julie at her side, her figure trembled with excitement... she finally got the chance of revenge she was looking for.
Julie knew of the hate that her mentor had for the Masked man although she didn’t see a definite reason for it...
"How are we going to get there on time?" Julie asked while holding down her hat, a gust of wind had threatened to send her hat flying, "For all we know, he could escape before we get there,"
Arya only smiled at her student.
"It wasn’t announced but there’s a formation for the Masked man if he ever arrived in Reifall," Arya said, "Everywhere is on lock-down including the Café, and there are a lot of Cavaliers who can sense soul energy present so I doubt he’d find a way to escape and besides... I have a way of getting there easily,"
The ground under them parted as a board made of holy flame was formed, Arya climbed atop it and looked at Julie who was hesitating. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"It won’t hurt you if I don’t want it to hurt you," Arya said, "So climb aboard unless you want to stay here,"
Julie reluctantly got on the board and felt warmth against her feet, apart from that, nothing else happened and she sighed.
"Now let’s go," Arya said as she willed the board to shoot through the air and head in Reifall’s direction... the board shot through the air on command and Julie wrapped her arms around Arya eliciting a chuckle from the Channeler.
"You crying?"
