Chapter 397: 396. Preparing For The Counter Attack (3)

Sylvia’s response put me at ease and I looked back at the manor where the kids seemed to be lingering at the entrance eyeing us.

"You’ll have to go now, do you want to say your goodbyes now or do you want to come back?" I asked and she smiled.

"I won’t leave, Young Master Kai’s side, Master. Just give me a minute." She said before she turned and walked back to the Eldarf manor.

She had grown up to be a fine girl, she was almost 5 foot 7 only a couple of inches below me with firm and lean body. Her deep green hair brushed loosely over her shoulders and her face screamed of the ethereal beauty that only the nymphs would possess or the elves.

I waited outside watching Sylvia explaining to her friends about what I said and I could see some of them feeling displeased as why they weren’t chosen but she was quick. She returned within five minutes with a small bag pack.

"Let’s go, Master." She said and I sighed scooping her up in my arms making her yelp.

"That’s not fair, Master!"

"Yes, take us too!"

I could hear the shouts of the other kids as I flapped my wings.

"I’m sorry, I’ll come back later." I shouted at them before I rushed in the direction of Ryujin mansion.

We landed in front of the mansion and I let her down.

"Wow..." She gasped as she looked at the huge mansion.

"You’ve been here before," I said as I gestured for her to follow me.

"Yes, but it’s still quite grand." She said as she walked behind me.

She greeted a few servants on her way as I led her up to Kai’s room.

"Also, I want you to do something for me." I said and she looked at me.

"Yes?"

"Kai... seems very tensed about something, I don’t know what to do. I asked him but he isn’t telling me anything. If he tells you something then tell him to come and talk to me." I said and she smiled.

"All right, Master."

We reached in front of Kai’s room, I knocked twice and entered followed by Sylvia. Asher was already inside with Kai.

"Ma- Bis Sister Sylvia?" He gasped as he saw Sylvia behind me.

"Hello, there, Young Master Kai." She beamed at him and he looked at her and then at me.

"She’ll be your other guard." I said and he seemed a little conflicted.

"Wouldn’t she need a disguise?" Asher pointed out and I looked at her elf ears and her ethereal beauty.

"I don’t need a disguise," she said and pulled the hood of her navy blue coat over her head hiding her ears and pulled up the scarf to cover the lower half of her face.

"I’m satisfied with this." She said and Asher sighed looking at me.

"You know she’s strong, just keep an eye on the surroundings." I told him and he eyed both the kids before he nodded.

"All right."

"But, what if someone noticed that she’s an elf?" Kai asked sounding slightly desperate.

"She’s trained to be agile and secretive, Kai. She’s an assassin who knows how to hide herself so, don’t worry." I assured him but he pressed his lips in a firm line.

"Just think of it as us hanging out together, Young Master Kai." Sylvia said and Kai looked down at his feet with his fists clenched at his sides.

I still had no idea why he was so tensed, if only he could tell me.

Asher cleared his throat and I looked at him, he pulled out an envelope from his vest and handed it to me.

"Whoa, Sir Asher are you giving our Master a love letter?" Sylvia asked making him snort and I chuckled.

"No, I’m just going to deliver it to where it needs to go." I said patting her head.

"Thank you," Asher spoke in a low voice and I looked at him before giving him a nod.

"You should head out now, Marquis Fairisles must be waiting." I said and Asher and Sylvia looked at Kai.

He still looked unsettled as he stood there with his fists clenched, then with a swift motion he grabbed his satchel and the teleportation device.

I watched as the three teleported to the Fairisles mansion and I sighed running my hand through my hair.

"Maybe I should borrow the childrearing books that Uncle Silas was reading when I was a kid." I mumbled to myself.

I stepped out of Kai’s room and found Remi who walked up to me as soon as he spotted me.

"Master!" He stopped in front of me, "I’ve been looking for you."

"What is it?" I asked.

"Mr Lyall is waiting for you in the dungeon." He informed and I nodded before I made my way towards the eastern wing where the underground dungeon was.

The stench of the blood hit me as soon as I started descending the stairs and could hear the sounds of my boots clacking against the rocky ground as I walked closer and closer passing through the empty cells until I reached the last chamber which was my and Lyall’s torture chamber.

I opened the heavy metal door and walked in finding Lyall already in there was a pair of tongs in his hand.

He bowed as soon as he saw me and I nodded as I walked forth watching the two battered and bloodied assassins kneeling on the floor with their hands tied up to the shackles and chains.

The nails on their fingers and toes were gone and I could see the long gashes on their bodies as they let out ragged breaths.

"S-Spare... Us..." One of them groaned and I stepped ahead not caring the blood that splashed over my boots from the pool of blood I stepped in.

"Why should I? It is a clear rule in the Underworld and the places that are run by crime, that under no circumstances is anyone spared if they dared to infiltrate Oasis or tried to mess with me." I reminded them and they looked at me with teary eyes.

One of them had only one eye intact.

"We-We would never set a foot near O-Oasis again... S-So please..."

"I want the information first," I said.

"W-We will tell you... everything... please..." They pleaded.

"Then speak." I commanded.

"W-We belong... To the small unit of commoners wh-who the Queen picked up f-for such tasks... We-We aspired to be knights but..." One of them started sniffling as he explained.

"Sh-She has dispatched the whole commoners team... To infiltrate every place affiliated with you... Marquis Ryujin... And... she ordered us to... get all the information we could about you and your weakness... some others... were sent to... kill you and your allies..." They explained.

"How much does she know?" I asked.

One of them gulped, "Sh-She knows that... you... you have an heir."

I gritted my teeth and my Dragon’s Presence surged out like a beast and they gasped, choking on their breath.

I calmed myself before they could pass out and asked, "What else does she know?"

"M-Most of them couldn’t return alive... And those who did... weren’t successful..."

"If I give you a chance to live what will I get in return?" I asked and their eyes widened with fear.

"W-We will disappear from your sight and never-"

"So, you’ll die." I spoke coldly and they shuddered.

"N-No... We-We will leave the kingdom-"

"Then it’s better if I kill you, right?" I said as I reached out creating the water spikes around me making them squirm back against the stone wall.

"N-No! We-We will do what you say!"

"Yes, we’ll be yo-your slaves... Please-Please just don’t kill us."

They begged and I could see the desperation in their eyes.

"You want to be knights," I said and they sniffled.

"Knights don’t beg to be spared or sell out their masters," I said and they shuddered.

"It’s fine," I said as I let the spikes dissolve.

"You are already assassins so, it’d be a waste to be knights." I said making them purse their lips.

"I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself," I said and they looked at me.

"I’ll let you go, you should go and tell the Queen what I tell you and come and inform me about what she orders you to do and what she’s planning." I ordered and they looked at each other.

"Is it not acceptable?" I asked and they quickly looked back at me.

"We-We accept." One of them said and other nodded.

"Yes, we-we will do as you say."

"Good," I nodded observing them.

"What are your names?" I asked.

"I’m Gior," one of them said.

"And I’m Harris." The one with single eye said, I nodded.

"Lyall." I spoke without moving my gaze from them.

"Master." He responded.

"Release them," I said and he walked ahead and undid the shackles that were attached to their wrists.

They slumped over barely alive because of the injuries. I watched them as they tried to get up to their feet but they couldn’t.

I reached out and placed my hands over their heads casting the Supreme Healing spell. My mana rushed into their bodies and I could see the blue spangles dancing in their wide eyes as their injuries started healing. The one who didn’t have an eye regenerated one and even their nails grew again.

When the spell was done they looked at their bodies with shocked gazes unable to believe it before they looked at me.

"I hope you don’t forget your word and try to stab me in the back because with what you’ve seen, you must know what I can do both to you and your Queen." I spoke in a low cold voice making them shudder before they both got on their knees.

"We-We pledge our loyalty to you, Marquis Ryujin." They spoke and I looked down at them.

"Lyall, get them proper clothes " I ordered and he nodded before he walked away.

"Now, as for what you will be telling the Queen." I said and they looked up at me.

"Go and tell her that you found out that Marquis Ryujin is associated with Ace D’Arc, the owner of Azurlite guild."

Their eyes widened as soon as they heard that, "And that they are going to meet next week on 18th at Shadowcliff to watch a play together and to discuss their next plan."

The two stared at me for a moment before they lowered their eyes.

"Yes, Marquis."

"It’s Master." Lyall corrected as he walked in with their clothes.

I stepped back from them and looked once at Lyall, he knew what to do so, I left the dungeon to prepare for the trap that I was laying.
