Chapter 398
The dark, damp underground cavern carried even the smallest sounds, bouncing and scattering them into restless echoes.
In this pitch-black space—where signs of once having been shaped by someone’s hands were now mostly eroded beyond recognition—three figures entered.
The archangel who once sang of God, Remiel.
Lispa Elde, and the demon Diablo.
And one of the Three Great Archangels—Raphael, known as Luna.
“An original archangel I’ve never even heard of… even back when I was one myself.”
“I thought Michael was the very first archangel as well. Honestly, he probably believes that too.”
After exchanging a few words, Lispa and Diablo glanced toward Luna, who was following behind them.
As one of the Three Great Archangels—among the earliest beings ever created—it was reasonable to think Luna might know something.
But Luna responded flatly to their gazes.
“If I knew shit like that, I wouldn’t be here, and I sure as hell wouldn’t be moving with that thieving pigeon.”
“Wow. Such a pretty mouth you’ve got, bitch.”
Luna raised her middle finger at Lispa.
“You expect nice words for a woman who flirts with my husband?”
“Like hell I’m letting you monopolize him, you shameless bitch!”
“Shh.”
Diablo stepped in, unable to listen any longer.
“Looks like monsters have made this place their lair. We should deal with them first—”
Before he could finish, the halo above Luna’s head darkened and warped as she loosened her body.
BOOM!!
Luna kicked off the ground and vanished into the darkness.
KUUUUNG!!!
—KIEEEEEEEEK!!!
A heavy impact shook the entire cavern, followed by the anguished cry of some creature.
By the time Diablo and Lispa followed her and reunited with Luna, barely thirty seconds had passed.
Yet—
Luna merely shook the blood from her fist, her expression indifferent.
“A Great Drakan… Even among powerful monster territories, it’d be a top-tier apex predator. No wonder it didn’t feel fear.”
“A dumb bitch who’s all muscle.”
“Maybe. Someday that could happen. Leon has already surpassed humanity—he’ll live an absurdly long life. He might even approach immortality like me. Someday, maybe.”
She continued calmly.
“But not now. I’ll never allow it. And Leon wouldn’t accept it either.”
“I know…” 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
The Great Drakan’s corpse lay crushed—over seven meters long, a massive reptilian monster.
Its skull had caved in from a single blow by Luna, who was barely a bite-sized opponent to it.
She opened subspace and shoved the corpse inside.
“I’ve been feeling off lately.”
“That’s normal. Especially since the child in your womb is drawing heavily on your power.”
It wasn’t permanent—but it was a drain.
That was why Luna had insisted on getting some exercise.
“With the obstruction dealt with, let’s head inside.”
Aside from the Great Drakan, there were no further monsters or obstacles.
Yet after thoroughly exploring the ruins, there was… nothing.
“This is all cult nonsense. None of it’s legitimate.”
“You’re not wrong. But my intuition keeps screaming that there’s still something hidden here.”
Diablo continued inspecting the ruined site.
Still, nothing turned up.
After nearly an hour of searching—
“Damn it. There really is nothing. If there were info on Lucifer here, Uriel would’ve known.”
“Possibly.”
Lispa clicked her tongue in irritation.
Luna’s expression wasn’t any better.
“I’m sorry. I thought with your eyes, you’d find something.”
“It’s fine. Doesn’t matter.”
“Good work.”
Just as they turned to leave—
Thump.
Luna felt the child in her womb move, as if reacting to something.
“Baby?”
It shouldn’t have been possible.
The child was still forming—no thoughts, no judgment.
But this child was born between an archangel and a transcendent being.
No ordinary life.
Drawn by the faint holy power emanating from her unborn child, Luna moved deeper inside.
“Hey—hey! What’s going on?”
“Luna. What is it?”
“The child’s holy power is reacting.”
She led them to what appeared to be an old chapel.
A cult chapel—or so they thought.
Luna calmly tore apart the central altar with her pale hand.
CRACK!!
A staircase leading underground was revealed.
“What? I didn’t sense anything here.”
Lispa muttered in disbelief.
Diablo crouched, placing his hand near the opening.
Wooooong…
A faint boundary appeared, as if space itself were isolated.
“A dimensional wall…”
“What? A dimensional wall? Why the hell is that here?”
A dimensional wall completely isolates worlds—preventing any perception or influence between them.
And yet, traces of one existed here.
As if someone had artificially imitated the barrier that separates worlds.
Even archangels and demons found this absurd.
If this were possible, the Outer God Yog would never have been able to intrude as he did.

“It’s certain. Whatever’s inside was hidden even from Uriel, the Archangel of Wisdom.”
Diablo’s eyes gleamed like a scholar who’d discovered a treasure.
“The construction predates even our creation. Can you feel it? That faint holy power?”
“Yeah. It’s nauseatingly obvious.”
Lispa muttered, archangel-hater that she was.
“It seems your child will become something extraordinary.”
“I just want them to grow up normal. Without pointless obligations.”
“They will.”
The three descended the endless stairs.
At the bottom lay a massive chamber, walls covered in enormous murals.
Murals conveyed more than words ever could.
Diablo conjured a white orb of light and brushed dust from the wall, uncaring that his robes were getting dirty.
“This place is protected by a strange holy force. Like a massive prison.”
“At this scale… did Lucifer make it himself?”
“Hard to say. Let me interpret the murals.”
They decided to stay for several days.
“Leon would love it if we found something worthwhile.”
Lispa shrugged, while Luna quietly moved aside.
That’s when she noticed a strange statue hidden between the mural-covered walls.
“Five pairs of wings.”
Diablo rushed over, eyes wide.
“A statue…!”
The figure looked like a long-haired girl, no older than ten.
“Is that… Lucifer?”
“Too small, isn’t it?”
The wings were unusual—floating behind the back like halos, not attached to flesh.
Five pairs radiated overwhelming pressure.
“But Leon said Lucifer looked like an androgynous black-haired man.”
“That form might not be the truth.”
“There’s another hidden mural here. Wait…”
Hours passed as Diablo cross-referenced the murals with scripture.
After six hours—
“Each mural is a character. Together, they form a massive script.”
“And?”
“It’s… strange.”
When he activated his power, information flooded directly into his mind.
“Direct information injection into a demon’s consciousness… I didn’t know such a being existed.”
“Sounds like the Staff of Kuralion.”
“It may be its origin.”
He continued.
“Five-winged archangels. God’s proxy. Observer of Fate…”
“Observer of Fate?”
“Yes—but the later data is corrupted. As if altered. My guess… the observer tried to intervene in fate.”
Speculation—but they had time.
They resumed investigating.
* * *
Lucifer firmly refused to provide more information and fell silent.
I was troubled.
If fate wasn’t handled properly, something catastrophic might happen.
I already knew—this world had repeated countless times through versions of myself.
A destiny I failed to protect, again and again.
If fate itself interfered with my actions…
“Damn it. My head hurts. What kind of insane crap is this?”
And then—
A presence.
Holy power, similar to the archangels—but weaker.
That wasn’t Luna.
I followed it instinctively.
And saw—
A figure in white armor, holding a spear, silently gazing at a tree in the garden.
“An angel?”
Two pairs of wings.
A High Angel.
“Detainer of the sinner. Hear me.”
Before he could finish—
CRACK!!
I crushed his neck through the plate armor and lifted him.
“Keep talking.”
Light pillars rained down as other angels appeared—
Until my gaze flared.
Gravity slammed them into the ground.
“Talk.”
Before his armor gave way—
“Stop.”
A brilliant pillar descended.
“Gabriel.”
“Leon Cascadia. We invite you to the junction between Heaven and Lazarus.”
I threw the angel aside.
“This is how you invite people now?”
“Michael wishes to meet you.”
Finally.
I nodded.
“Let’s go.”
Light engulfed us—
And when I opened my eyes—
A heavenly corridor.
A golden-armored angel spoke.
“Mother… at last.”
Not to me.
Then—
Lucifer’s necklace flew from my subspace and ignited.
—What the hell are you now?
“The only way to twist fate. I need that knowledge.”
