Chapter 92: Chapter 92: For Her

"What?" Moira Young thought she had misheard. Just as she was about to ask another question, the doctor opened the door and came in. Moira immediately released Julian Sinclair, obediently standing by the bed, watching the doctor examine Julian.

The doctor unbuttoned Julian’s shirt. Although it wasn’t the first time Moira had seen Julian’s body, for some reason, looking at it now, she immediately turned her gaze away, her cheeks beginning to flush.

Adrian Grant glanced at her and forcibly turned her head back.

"Look closely, your Uncle risked his life for you."

Only then did Moira see Julian’s injury clearly, a bloody mess, unbearable to look at!

"How... how did this happen!" Moira looked up at Adrian in shock, her eyes filled with questions and sorrow, unable to make a sound, only a weak breath.

"Julian rushed into the fire to save you, risking his life, and you turned right around and fell into someone else’s arms. Do you think your Uncle deserves this?"

Moira’s legs went weak, and she almost collapsed to the floor!

How did it suddenly... suddenly turn out that Julian was the one who saved her!

The doctor, seeing Julian’s injuries, took a sharp breath, "The Master’s injuries have worsened, he needs to be sent to the hospital immediately!"

Adrian hadn’t expected it to be this severe either, "What did you guys do exactly?"

"I... I just pushed him a little... I didn’t know it would turn out like this..." Moira’s eyes were full of guilt and pain. Julian’s shoulder was burned, and she had forcefully pushed against it. How much pain must he have endured...

"Enough, let’s get to the hospital quickly!" Adrian’s face turned serious, not having time to hear the details anymore. Since it had already reached the point where they needed to go to the hospital, there was no time to delay!

After saying that, the group headed to the hospital.

Julian’s injuries were so severe he needed surgery, and everyone waited anxiously at the door of the operating room. Moira didn’t dare to stand too close to Adrian, standing alone in the corner.

Seeing this, Adrian walked over. Moira, with red-rimmed eyes, slowly lifted her head to meet Adrian’s gaze.

Plop—

Tears fell uncontrollably, one by one.

"Don’t worry, everything will be fine." Adrian couldn’t bear to see Moira like this, after all, she was still a child.

Instead of helping, Adrian’s words only made Moira cry more, seeing Julian in this state was all her fault.

"Brother Adrian, was it really Uncle who saved me?" Moira turned her head towards the operating room door. She clearly remembered that when she woke up in the hospital, it was Heath Sterling by her side; Heath hadn’t said he saw Julian...

Moreover, it was already so late that night; the Sinclair family was so far from Arden University. How could Julian have known she was in trouble...

Even if he knew she was in trouble, how could Julian risk his life to save her from the fire?

Adrian patted her head, "Julian has always been the same Julian who loves you, never changed." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Wait for him to come out of the operating room and ask him yourself."

As each minute passed, everyone anxiously waited. Although Julian only had burns on his shoulder, meaning there was no life-threatening danger, being in the operating room meant the problem wasn’t small.

The light in the operating room turned off.

Julian was wheeled out. The surgery was done under local anesthesia, and Julian was awake.

Moira stood to the side, clenching her hands, avoiding Julian’s gaze. After he was taken to a ward, she quietly stood by the ward door, secretly peeking in through the crack.

After a while, everyone inside came out, including Adrian.

"Moira, we’re all leaving. You stay," Adrian said with a yawn. "It’s really late; I need to go to sleep."

"Did he ask me to stay?" Moira asked tentatively.

"What, if he didn’t ask, you won’t stay? Julian going into the operating room is your responsibility!" Adrian glanced at her meaningfully, "Alright, go in quickly, don’t be afraid, it’s nothing major."

After speaking, they left, leaving Moira alone.

She stood with her head down at the door, hesitating, afraid to enter, feeling that if she opened this door, many things would change dramatically.

After much thought, she finally extended her slightly trembling hand, opened the door to the ward, and once inside, leaned against it, not daring to take a step further in.

"Come here." Julian’s deep, hoarse voice came, with an undeniable command.

Moira’s heart trembled, her legs involuntarily moving as if controlled, and she walked over.

"I’m fine," Julian suddenly said, bringing a comforting echo.

She suddenly looked up, meeting Julian’s gaze, dark yet warm. Her nose soured, and tears flowed uncontrollably.

Moira’s mind buzzed. At that moment, she suddenly forgot she still resented him, left only with heartache and guilt for Julian.

Julian had just had surgery because of her, yet instead of blaming her, he comforted her with his first words.

Moira bit her lower lip, not uttering a word, unsure how to communicate with Julian.

Outside, it was still raining. A sudden thunderclap startled Moira, making her shiver, her gaze filled with fear.

Julian frowned, shifted to the left, leaving space on the right.

"Get up here."

Moira stared blankly, at a loss.

"Do I have to hold you?" Julian raised his handsome eyebrows, preparing to get up.

Moira, not wanting him to move, panicked inwardly and obediently got on the bed. The warm, familiar scent washed over her, bringing an instant flood of safety to her body and soul.

This long-missed feeling, revisited in such a moment.

Moira lay on the bed, not daring to move, staring wide-eyed at the ceiling. Her small hands clutched the blanket, breathing as lightly and steadily as possible.

Unexpectedly, Julian grabbed her hand, pulling her into his embrace, placing her arm around his waist.

Facing each other, Moira’s stiff body felt unresponsive. She dared not look into Julian’s eyes, eyes that seemed to absorb her, tightly closing hers, sliding her head down.

Julian gradually released her hand, then stretched out his uninjured arm, encircling her waist, a seductive curve finally lifting at his lips.

Moira loved clinging to him like this since childhood, loved sleeping beside him, and how could he not feel the same?

"Moira, come back," Julian’s voice, tinged with pain, came from above Moira’s head, words he could only say with all his courage.

Moira could feel his hold around her waist gradually strengthening, and as they drew closer, she experienced an indescribable sensation, her heart beat steadily increasing.

She thought she had misheard.

In her current consciousness, Julian treated her like a pawn for nine years, never showing true affection, so asking her back now, what did it mean?

The image of herself helplessly falling to the ground, watching Julian’s car mercilessly drive away flashed in her mind, making her crumble.

"You deceived me for nine years because of a plan," Moira suddenly choked, "Now, for what plan, are you going to deceive me again for how many years?"

Julian’s muscles stiffened, his bloodshot eyes slowly closed, refusing to answer the question.
