Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 91: Dependence
Cold sweat suddenly appeared on Mr. Liu’s forehead as he tried every method to open the door and finally succeeded.
Julian Sinclair rushed into Heath Sterling’s house recklessly and headed straight for Moira Young’s room on the second floor.
The moment he opened the door, he saw Moira Young lying on the floor, convulsing slightly, and it felt like his heart was pierced by ten thousand arrows, filled with unbearable pain.
He rushed over and held her tightly, the guilt in his eyes magnifying infinitely.
Julian Sinclair had always known Moira Young was afraid of thunderstorms, but he almost always accompanied her during those times. He had never realized that Moira Young would be this scared when he wasn’t by her side...
"It’s okay... it’s okay..." Julian Sinclair’s exquisitely perfect features slightly tightened as he tried to soothe Moira Young’s emotions.
He picked Moira Young up, intending to take her away, but his shoulder hurt so much that it was uncontrollable. He almost fell as soon as he lifted her, instinctively placing Moira Young on the bed to prevent her from getting hurt.
However, unexpectedly, Moira Young, with her eyes tightly shut, held him tightly, and they both fell onto the bed.
"Uncle..." Moira Young sobbed like a child, unable to hold back any longer after all this time.
"I’m here." Julian Sinclair’s pupils shrank upon hearing her pitiful cries, unable to hold back his emotions, embracing her tightly and constantly comforting her, "Don’t be afraid. Uncle is here."
"Don’t leave... As long as I don’t open my eyes, you won’t leave, right..." Moira Young bit her lower lip fiercely, faintly tasting a hint of blood.
Whether it was the day of the fire or the current thunderstorm, she always felt Julian Sinclair’s presence whenever she was despairing and terrified, bringing her an immense sense of security.
But Julian Sinclair during the fire was merely an illusion.
And now, maybe it is an illusion too...
Moira Young cried with her eyes closed, refusing to let go of Julian Sinclair, regretting not holding onto the illusion of Julian Sinclair that day, and now unwilling to let go no matter what.
"I won’t leave." Julian Sinclair’s pained gaze fell on Moira Young’s lips, which were slightly tinged with red blood, and he shook his head fiercely, desperately restraining his impulsive thoughts.
"You’re a liar... I won’t believe you anymore..."
"You said you wouldn’t abandon me, but you still..." Moira Young sobbed uncontrollably, using all her strength to hold onto Julian Sinclair, wanting to feel the warmth she could never feel again before this illusion faded.
"You big liar..."
"Moira, I promise you, I really won’t leave." Julian Sinclair only now realized that Moira Young was somewhat feverish, so he reached out and touched her forehead, which was burning hot, "Open your eyes and look at me."
Moira Young shook her head, crying, "I won’t! Open them and you’ll leave me alone again..."
"Uncle... I’m really scared... Please don’t leave me alone again..."
Julian Sinclair was already burning with heartache, unable to control himself. He ignored the severe pain in his shoulder, using all his strength to lift Moira Young.
"Wrap your arms around my neck, don’t let go." Julian Sinclair’s tone was commanding.
Moira Young, with her eyes tightly shut, obediently released her grip on his waist and clumsily wrapped her arms around his neck, accidentally touching Julian Sinclair’s injured shoulder, causing him to groan in pain and break into a cold sweat.
He carried Moira Young out of Heath Sterling’s house, and Mr. Liu tried to take Moira Young from his arms, but Julian Sinclair turned sideways and personally placed Moira Young into the car.
Then he closed the car door, panting heavily, his shoulder hurting unbearably.
"Let’s go home." Julian Sinclair had no strength left to speak, fortunately, Mr. Liu understood him clearly.
Throughout the journey, Julian Sinclair’s gaze never left Moira Young, who had already fallen asleep, her cheeks flushed with fever.
Julian Sinclair frowned; she had just been rambling nonsensically earlier.
After arriving at the Sinclair family house, a family doctor was urgently summoned, checked her over, provided fever-reducing medication, and advised her to rest well, assuring that there wouldn’t be any issues.
It was fortunate that Mrs. Miller had made soup for Julian Sinclair that afternoon, and there was plenty left. She warmed it up and brought it over for Moira Young.
Julian Sinclair asked them all to go back and rest, saying that having him there was enough.
After Moira Young took the fever-reducing medicine, her cheeks were no longer as hot after a while, and she slept deeply in the familiar place.
Julian Sinclair stayed by her side, never resting for a moment.
While asleep, Moira Young tried to turn over but felt someone holding her hand, preventing her from succeeding.
She slightly opened her eyes and saw Julian Sinclair sitting by the bedside, watching her.
Moira Young was stunned for several seconds, then in her panic, she suddenly jerked her hand, inadvertently pulling Julian Sinclair’s shoulder, but Julian Sinclair simply raised his eyes slightly, pretending nothing was wrong.
"You..." Moira Young glanced around the room, her nervous eyes not knowing where to focus, "Why am I here?"
Seeing her awake, Julian Sinclair reached out to check her forehead, finding the fever gone, then brought over the soup that Mrs. Miller had left in a thermal bowl. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"I don’t want it!" Tears started to stream down Moira Young’s face uncontrollably. With a wave of her hand, she knocked the bowl to the floor, "I didn’t want to come here, why did you bring me back!"
"Why!" Moira Young cried out, this being her first return to the Sinclair family house since Julian Sinclair abandoned her. It was the place where she had lived for nine years, and all those nine years were filled with wonderful memories, all shattered by Julian Sinclair’s cold departure!
She didn’t want to come back here...
Didn’t want to face those nine years of memories that only brought her intensified pain...
"Why..." Moira Young just wanted to get out of bed and leave, but Julian Sinclair pushed her back onto the bed!
"Mm—" The sudden touch of lips silenced Moira Young’s cries, with Julian Sinclair holding her down firmly, dominantly kissing her lips relentlessly, and taking advantage of Moira Young’s momentary stupefaction to deepen the kiss, not giving her a chance to cry or escape!
Moira Young was completely stunned...
Her body suddenly felt like it was being lightly brushed by feathers, tingling and slightly numb, somewhat uncontrollable...
Julian Sinclair was doing this to her again!
"Mm!" With her thoughts gradually clearing, Moira Young started to struggle. Julian Sinclair only held down one of her arms, allowing her to use the other to push him with all her might.
Unexpectedly, Julian Sinclair suddenly groaned in pain, releasing her, cold sweat breaking out again on his forehead.
Tears streamed from Moira Young’s helpless eyes; she couldn’t believe that just pushing him hurt him so much...
Suddenly!
Moira Young faintly saw streaks of red from Julian Sinclair’s shoulder, slowly spreading on his clothing, and Julian Sinclair was gradually losing consciousness in agony.
"Un... Uncle..." Moira Young’s eyes widened, her head buzzing, her heart wrenching in pain.
"Uncle!" She finally understood that Julian Sinclair was injured!
"Mrs. Miller—Help!"
"Mrs. Miller—!" Moira Young held Julian Sinclair, her tears gushing out, unable to utter a word.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Adrian Grant rushed in, disheveled and panic-stricken: "What happened!"
Moira Young froze, looking at Adrian Grant with a mixture of crying and helplessness, her voice so tender it could squeeze out water: "Adrian, Uncle... Uncle fainted..."
"Please help him..."
Adrian Grant sighed in relief, yawning, unconcerned: "Don’t worry, he probably fainted from the pain, call a doctor to have a look."
"What did you do to him to hurt him like this?" Adrian Grant plopped down on the sofa, baffled, looking at the two people on the bed. He had been sleeping soundly on the sofa in Julian Sinclair’s room, only to be woken by Moira Young and find her holding Julian Sinclair on the bed, a scene he found quite ambiguous.
Moira Young’s cheeks instantly flushed, refusing to answer.
"Was he... injured?" Moira Young asked cautiously through her sobs.
"Silly girl, isn’t it obvious? If he wasn’t hurt, how would he bleed and faint?"
Moira Young fought desperately to tell herself not to feel sorry for him, that no matter the reason for his injury, he deserved it. But whenever her gaze fell on Julian Sinclair’s shoulder, she couldn’t help but feel heartache and worry.
"Why was he injured?"
Adrian Grant looked at her with a meaningful gaze, "To save someone."
Moira Young froze, lowered her head, and muttered, "Was it to save Fiona Rhodes..."
Fiona Rhodes was his longtime girlfriend; theirs was a true relationship. Moira Young smiled bitterly, realizing she was merely a pawn in his hands, how could there be any real feelings?
"Silly girl, it was for you..."
