SSS Ranked Summoning: I'm An Extra With The Strongest Harem System-Chapter 22: Vipers(2)
Chapter 22: Vipers(2)
Mikey was trembling. His legs felt like they had turned into jelly, and his arms were so stiff he couldn't even force himself to move.
He looked up, eyes darting to Son, whose gaze slowly shifted toward him.
Son's eyes were sharp, cutting through the air like blades, filled with undeniable fierceness.
Mikey saw it, felt it deep in his bones, yet his body betrayed him. He was still standing there, actually standing off against Son—when in reality, all he wanted to do was curl into a ball and roll away.
Then silence fell. The hallway stilled as if the entire world had hit pause.
Everyone was staring at him, with their mouths agape, and their eyes wide with astonishment. The sheer audacity of Mikey Dickson standing up to Son had rendered them speechless. He could see their faces, their shock mingling with a strange sense of admiration. It was only then that it dawned on him—he had actually touched Son.
He glanced around, locking eyes with the ghostly expressions of the students before finally settling back on Son.
A slow, pleased smile crept onto Son's face.
Then—
BANG.
A sickening punch landed squarely on Mikey's face. A deafening crack echoed through the hallway, his nose erupting in pain as blood spurted from his nostrils. His body flew backward like a ragdoll, crashing onto the ground with a thud so loud that the entire hallway went deathly silent again.
Thud
Mikey lay there, gasping, his breath coming in ragged gulps. His hands flew to his nose, warm crimson blood dripping between his fingers. His ears rang, his vision blurred, and for a moment, he genuinely wondered if he still had a face.
When he finally managed to lift his gaze, Son was already crouched before him, his eyes cold and calculating.
"You." Son's voice was quiet but laced with venom.
"Don't ever think of touching me again. Don't even think you're worthy enough to."
Mikey barely had time to react before Son grabbed a fistful of his hair, yanking his head up. A sharp grunt escaped him, his hands gripping Son's wrist, but the pain was unbearable.
"Mikey!" Aurora called out, but Son didn't budge.
Instead, he leaned closer, his breath hot against Mikey's bloody face.
"You really wanna protect that bitch, huh?"
Mikey barely had time to process before Son's grip tightened painfully.
"She blew my funds. Do you have any idea how much was in there? Huh?"
Mikey gritted his teeth, his brain firing on all cylinders, trying to figure a way out of this mess.
'Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Why did I have to open my big mouth? Why couldn't I just shut up and take let Aurora take the beating?...Mmm....Nahh, that sounded weird.'
Well, perhaps he could atleast shut up and not escalate the matters any more than it should. Yeah, that sounded reasonable. But then—
"I'll pay it back."
His own voice betrayed him, and once more, silence stretched through the entire hallway. Even Son blinked, momentarily taken aback.
"W-What did you just say?"
Mikey swallowed hard.
"I said, I'll pay you back."
Son tilted his head, scrutinizing him as if deciding whether Mikey had just hit his head too hard or if he was actually serious.
"She blew an account of seven grand."
"I don't care how much the money is." Mikey countered quickly, his voice strained.
"Just give me time, and I'll pay you back."
Son stared at him, taking a moment to inspect Mikeys wellbeing, then he let out a slow, amused chuckle. The laughter grew louder, echoing through the hallway as he wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.
"Look at this kid!" he boomed.
"He wants to pay back seven grand! For a bitch he can't hit! You know what? I like you. What's your name?"
Mikey hesitated.
"Mikey... Mikey Dickson."
Son rubbed his jaw, considering it for a moment.
"Mikey Dixon, huh? That's a pretty fucking stupid name."
The hallway erupted into nervous laughter, as they all averted their gazes from the Iron Vipers.
"Tell you what—I'll call you Lil Dicky from now on. Yeah, it rhymes too. How does that sound, Lil Dicky?" Son grinned, patting him on the shoulder.

"But...enough of that...when are you giving me my money, Lil Dicky?"
Mikey groaned, his nose still throbbing from the pain of the overflow of blood streaming down his nose.
"Give me a week. A week tops, and I'll get you the money."
Son squinted at him, pausing for a short moment, then let out another short laugh.
"You have two days."
Mikey's mind short-circuited almost instantly.
'What the fuck? How is two days close to a week?!'
At last, Son released him and with a gentle grunt, he stood up.
"If I don't have my money by then, your friend here won't be the only one hearing from me. And believe me, that punch you just got, was me holding back."
With that, he turned to his entourage.
"Let's go."
Without hesitation, Mabel and the others trailed after him, their figures vanishing down the hallway as their footsteps faded into silence.
Wasting no time, Aurora hurried over to him, dropping to a crouch beside Mikey.
"Are you okay?"
Mikey groaned, as he gently sat up.
"What do you think?"
She reached out to help him up, but he swatted her hand away, using his sleeve to wipe the blood off his face.
"How the hell did you even get into debt with those lowlives?" he asked.
Aurora averted her gaze, a flicker of embarrassment etched on the side of her face as she muttered.
"It's... a long story."
Mikey scoffed.
"You shouldn't have stepped up for me." she murmured.
"I could've handled myself."
He let out a dry chuckle, grunting slightly as he pushed himself to his feet, wobbling slightly.
"He was going to hit you. I couldn't let that happen, now, could I?"
Mikey straightened his posture. Yes, he was a loser, but damn it, he had just taken a punch from one of the top dog of their school. If nothing else, he had to make this moment look cool. Atleast for his sake.
"We'll talk about this later later." he said, brushing past her.
"Right now, I need to think..." He muttered in an eerily cool tone—but in reality, he just needed to get out of sight because he was absolutely convinced he was about to faceplant in the most dramatic way possible.
With that, he walked off, ignoring Aurora's calls behind him.
Yes, that was a cool exit.
The rest of the school day dragged on, but Mikey's mind was elsewhere. Seven grand in two days.
Impossible? Well perhaps that would be the case for a regular student from a middle class home.
But for Mikey, he had a damn system up his sleeve. And he knew exactly how to use it.
***
Creak.
Lock.
Mikey's dorm room door was swiftly shut and locked. He plopped onto his bed, phone in hand, staring at the already open novelkiss app. With one deep breath, he clicked the search button, ready to begin his missions again.
"Seven grand in two days. I made ten grand worth of cores in three days. So, how hard could it be?"
However, much to his dismay, the system had apparently decided to betray him at the worst possible moment.
