Spending Noble with a system-Chapter 14: Leaving
Chapter 14 - Leaving
Lucien's expression returned to seriousness. He hadn't forgotten what his goal was, and that he was still being chased by Reynard's men. But first;
"How are you feeling, Selene?" He asked in concern. The series of events had been fast and unpredictable, and he had no idea what Selene felt about it.
Her face lit up with a bright smile. "It was exciting my lord. I was able to help you, and I met with sister Luna" Her excited face dimmed. "Too bad she left."
Lucien stroked her head instinctively, "It's okay Selene, maybe we'll meet the again someday."
Selene nodded her head obediently. She then noticed where Lucien's hand was, and blushed furiously again. Lucien was startled and took his hand back accordingly. This time he wasn't too flustered, after all, he was no bumbling virgin. Hmmm.
Selene and Lucien made their way to the hole they had fallen through. There was no other way out of the ruin, none they had found at least. They could see the faint morning light through the wide hole, informing them that they had spent quite some time in the ancient abode.
There was only one problem, How were they supposed to make their way out of the hole. Lucien and Selene looked at each other cluelessly.
Suddenly Lucien slapped himself on the forehead. They were both thinking like powerless mortals. He activated surge, bent down to gather force then leapt up.
His body shot up like a cannon and banged on the ceiling, completely missing the hole by a distance. He heard Selene gasp in shock and then Lucien's body plummeted to the ground, luckily he was held by Selene. Lucien felt like burying his head into the ground.
The collision hadn't hurt him, his vitality when paired with surge ensured that, but he felt like his image as a young lord had completely collapsed.
Selene was powerful now so she could sense he wasn't hurt. She tried to keep he giggles in but ended up failing miserably. Her heavy breathing and occasionally leaked out giggles alerted Lucien.
Failing to bear it, he leapt down from her arms and jumped up, completely clearing the six meter high ceiling of the hallway. He even overshot the ground by a bit, floating above for a minute before he plummeted back. He landed on the ground with a superhero landing, fulfilling one of his fantasies as a kid.
He conspicuously looked around to see if anyone had seen the embarrassing chuunibyou scene. He then bent closer to the pit intending to urge Selene to come up. Before he could even open his mouth, Selene's body blurred past him, still giggling. She shot up even higher than him, going past the lowest branches.
Her body followed the momentum and peaked at the half height of the trees before she shot back to the ground. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw the approaching ground speeding up. He half expected Selene to erupt with a scream loud enough to wake the dead, but she was made of sterner stuff.
Selene's eyes firmed with resolve as she somehow managed to activate some skill Lucien didn't know. Her body floated down gracefully, catching the early morning sunlight. The glow hit her just right, turning her hair a molten silver as it floated in the wind and making her skin glow enchantingly. Lucien was awed all of two seconds before he was drawn to another scene.
Since Lucien was down and Selene was up. Well, Lucien felt this was his lucky day.
Selene landed gracefully and walked up to him, concerned. "your nose is bleeding, Young duke. Are you ok?" She removed a white handkerchief and moved to stop the flow.
Lucien shook his head hard to remove the picture of luscious thighs and something white. He looked blankly at Selene's handkerchief before wiping his nose carefully, "Of course, Selene. Never been better. Never been better."
Before Selene could follow up this incident, they both heard the sound of boots and hounds braying. They both tensed up, this could only mean one thing. The search party had caught up to them.
Lucien tapped Selene silently and pointed towards the direction opposite to where they heard the hounds. Selene nodded silently and followed him as they made a run for it, disappearing into the trees.
Not a minute later, the hounds' cries became excited and frantic. Lucien and Selene increased their pace, bursting out into another clearing, and startling a trio of soldiers. The soldiers were wearing Reynard's colors, black and red.
The soldiers looked at Lucien's group, astonished, before recognition dawned in their eyes on seeing Lucien's face. They quickly unsheathed their swords and excitedly ran over to chop him, believing he was still the easy kill he had been brefore.
Lucien sent an appraise over. The system didn't ask for anything.

The rest were a semblance of the same, just generic knights trained by Reynard. Those like them he could find a dime a dozen.
Lucien decided to use this chance to train his skill level. He looked at his own attributes

When Henry had possessed him he had seemingly done something to Lucien's body. His body which had been unable to bear aura had gained a strange golden aura. It was familiar to Lucien. it was similar to Henry's, and it was similar to his father's.
The change had gotten rid of his biggest limitation, with this and the system, he was unstoppable. He unsheathed the champion's sword and held it , looking at the Knight's savagely. He was going to give this guys the honor of being his test subjects. Thinking this, He leapt towards them.
