Souls Online: Mythic Ascension-Chapter 421: My Idol
Jamie shot a dirty glare towards Lily before they once again donned a charming smile and cheerfully remarked "It’s nice to meet you all Big Sisters. You are all so pretty and cute~! My name is Jamie Raelic and I am Morgan’s adorable little Brother. More recently I am the famous streamer known as the Princess Archer."
The girls seemed to be locked up in confusion as for a brief moment as none of them had any idea who they were outside of being Morgans little brother. Jamie had been so confident that the girls would recognize who he was and had even struck an eye peace pose but his smile faltered at the girls lack of reaction.
Lily was the first one to react as she covered her mouth with one hand and narrowed her eyes as she started snickering at the embarrassing situation Jamie had put himself in.
"Not as popular as you thought you were huh~? Little shit."
Luna was surprised that Lily who was usually so cheerful and nice was being so mean to somebody. From what Lily had said before, most of her anger about her moms death had been directed towards Morgan so she had no idea why these two were being so volatile towards each other.
Rachel was also kind of shocked. While she was vaguely aware of the brutal nature beneath the surface of Lily’s personality, what she was exhibiting now was closer to childish disdain. She could only sheepishly laugh as she deduced that Jamie and Lily were just incompatible with each other.
She figured that getting them to get along would be much harder than getting a tiger to take a bubble bath in a kitchen sink. Nevertheless she tried to crack a joke.
"Wow~! Such animosity....Don’t tell me this is one of those situations where one person is being mean to the other because they actually have a crush on one anoth....er."
""Haaaaaaah?!"
Jamie and Lily were in perfect unison as they directed murderous glares at Rachel. They both look so offended and angry that Rachel was barely able to finish the sentence. While caught off guard, she couldn’t help but notice in that moment, they had been in perfect sync.
Aria’s wings fluttered once before expanding outward in a rush of feathers and pale light. What were once dainty and decorative had now unfurled to a size that could wrap her entire body, and she did exactly that. Her face burned red as she tucked herself away, wings cocooning her like a giant blanket.
Her voice came out muffled from behind them. "I am not comfortable with a boy seeing me in this outfit!"
Rachel blinked. "It’s a chemise, not a battle bikini."
"Still!" Aria’s voice was high-pitched with embarrassment.
Crystal, who had been sitting cross-legged on one of the beanbags, rubbed her temples. "This is supposed to be a girls’ night. Boys were not supposed to be allowed in."
Lily immediately grinned, leaning back with an expression of smug satisfaction. "Exactly what I was thinking." Her amber eyes glinted mischievously as she turned toward Jamie. "You heard her, Princess Archer. That’s your sign to G.T.F.O."
Jamie’s frown deepened. "Huh? Come on, I’m cute enough to be considered one of the honorary girls, right?"
Lily raised an eyebrow. "If that were true, our group leader would be here instead of at the gym."
Jamie tilted their head in confusion. "What’s that supposed to mean?"
Lily leaned back and folded her arms behind her head. "It means Leo’s naturally a thousand times cuter than a tryhard like you."
The words hit Jamie right in the pride. Their confident posture stiffened, their mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "Wait... Leo?" Jamie’s voice trembled slightly. "As in Leo, the Number 1 player in Souls Online? The one who disappeared three months ago?"
The room went quiet for a moment. Crystal and Vivian exchanged puzzled looks, Lily froze, and Rachel’s grin faltered. Arachne, who had been perched on the upper bunk with a novel in her hands, didn’t even glance up. She just muttered, "Can we get back to the book club portion of this sleepover?"
Luna, sitting at the edge of the bed, frowned slightly. "Yeah. That Leo."
Jamie’s entire demeanor changed. Their pupils widened, a sparkle of unrestrained excitement lighting up their eyes. "You’re serious? That Leo?"
Lily hesitated, looking like she was starting to regret opening her mouth. "Yeah... why?"
Jamie’s lips curled into a wide grin, and before anyone could react, they spun on their heels. "Well! It was nice meeting all of you pretty sisters, but I have somewhere very important to be! We’ll talk later!"
"Wait, what?" Vivian stood up abruptly, her long hair swishing. "Where are you going?"
Jamie turned back with a glittering smile and stars practically sparkling in their eyes. "To meet my idol, of course!"
Everyone froze again.
Rachel’s head tilted slightly before the realization hit her like a thunderbolt. Her lips twitched, and then her entire body started to shake.
"Oh no," she whispered, clutching her stomach as she fell to her knees, laughter bubbling up uncontrollably. "Oh my god, no way. No way. Leo’s... their idol?"
Luna blinked. "Wait, what do you mean?"
Rachel’s shoulders trembled violently as she wheezed out between laughs. "You don’t get it. Jamie’s femboy idol is Leo!" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
The rest of the girls stared in disbelief as Rachel completely lost it, rolling onto the floor as she tried to keep quiet but failed miserably. Her laughter echoed through the dorm room like a gleeful melody.
"Is that really a bad thing?" Vivian asked with sllight confusion on her face.
Rachel tried to speak but couldn’t manage more than a few gasping words between fits of laughter. "Leo’s... going to lose it! His blood pressure... oh, it’s going to hit the stratosphere!"
Crystal covered her mouth to hide a chuckle while Luna tried to keep her composure, though even she was starting to grin.
"Should we stop Jamie?" Aria peeked from behind her wings, her voice timid.
Lily sighed. "No point. That idiot’s already gone."
Vivian crossed her arms, glancing toward the door that Jamie had just exited through. "Should someone at least warn Leo?"
Rachel finally managed to sit up, still red-faced from laughing. "Nope. Let it happen."
Luna frowned, uncertain. "You really want to let that play out?"
Rachel smirked. "Absolutely."
Aria let out a nervous laugh. "You’re terrible."
Rachel winked. "And loving it."
