Souls Online: Mythic Ascension-Chapter 422: Behold the "King of F@#(#+$!"
Leo had a shiver run down his spine as he felt something ominous on the horizon. However as he sat the 40lb dumbbell on the ground. He couldn’t shake that feeling something that was going to piss him off was coming.
Glancing around, he saw Adam was receiving some guidance on fighting from Greg. He had taken Greg’s instruction on how to throw a punch and was doing his best to hone that. The enthusiasm he was showing resulted in Greg looking pleased.
Morgan who was shadowboxing had a wry smile on his face as he glanced at them from afar. While Greg had talked about wanting to work out himself but had naturally fallen into training the others. While he was naturally a talented fighter, he was also a great teacher.
the only one who wasn’t enthusiastic about the training was Ethan. He had enthusiastically approached Greg in hopes of getting advice from the man, wanting to become stronger himself. Greg had looked at him with a glitter in his eye. To anyone else, it looked like he was enthusiastic but having seen hundreds if not thousands of people like him, Greg knew better.
As a result, Greg had demanded that he ’run laps’ so he could see his general level of fitness. Ethan had been stunned for a moment before he floated a cocky smile and pressing a thumb against his puffed up chest, he declared that he would shock Greg.
What Ethan didn’t know was that Greg’s little ’test’ had another name among the regulars: Hell’s Treadmill. While it seemed innocent enough at first, it was a run that never ended.
"You’re almost there" was said thirty minutes.
"just a little more" was said seventeen minutes ago.
It was when Greg said "You’re halfway there now" that Ethan wanted to scream. He had been running full tilt the entire time but the end was still not in sight. Out of breath, Ethan looked towards Greg who simply returned the gaze with a simple smile.
’He’s....He’s the devil!
Ethan trembled with fear as he forced himself to keep running.
’
The gym door burst open so hard it rattled the frame. The sound drew everyone’s attention away from their workouts.
A small figure stepped inside with the confidence of a star making their entrance. The air seemed to brighten around them as they raised one arm high and declared in a cheerful, dramatic voice, "Behold, for I have arrived!"
Every head turned.
Adam blinked, lowering his towel. "Who the hell is that?"
Greg took one look, sighed deeply, and muttered, "That’s Morgan’s little brother."
Adam blinked again. "Brother?" He looked back at the doorway, his expression full of disbelief.
Ethan, still running laps under Greg’s orders, almost tripped over his own feet. "Wait. That’s a guy?"
Greg gave him a flat stare. "Yes. That’s a guy."
Ethan slowed to a stop, panting heavily as he pointed toward the newcomer. "You’re kidding. That’s a guy?"
"I don’t kid," Greg replied dryly. "Keep running."
Ethan groaned and stumbled forward again while the rest of the group watched the small, doll-like figure move closer.
Jamie’s presence filled the room in a strange way. He looked like a porcelain girl doll come to life, his soft black hair shining under the gym lights, his skin flawless, and his eyes full of mischievous energy. He wore clothes far too stylish for a gym setting, his skirt fluttering slightly as he walked forward with a bright smile.
Morgan coughed into his hand, already looking tired. "Hello, Jamie."
Jamie’s head snapped toward him, and his expression softened in surprise. For a moment, He said nothing, just stared. "Morgan?"
The name carried quiet disbelief. He took a slow step forward, studying him closely.
The Morgan he remembered had been pale, exhausted, and messy, with short black hair and hollow eyes from sleepless nights. The person standing before him now looked like a completely different man. His long dark hair was tied neatly into a ponytail, his skin was healthy and smooth, and there was a calm strength in his stance that hadn’t been there before.
Jamie blinked several times. "You look... good. Really good. Are you even the same brother I remember?"
Morgan gave a tired smile. "Something like that."
Jamie’s eyes darted to the others in the room, scanning them one by one. The first that caught his attention was Ethan. His red hair clung to his forehead, and his wolf ears twitched slightly with each movement. His tail flicked lazily as he wiped sweat from his neck.
Jamie’s lips parted slightly. "Oh. He’s cute."
Ethan froze mid-motion, confused and unsure of how he should react.
Greg cleared his throat. "Focus, Jamie. Ethan. Did I tell you to stop? Keep running!"
"You’re a fucking demon!" Ethan growled but nevertheless resumed running after receiving a withering glare from Greg.
Jamie pretended not to hear him. His gaze drifted next to Greg himself. He tilted his head, studying him with interest. "You got a lot more muscular. And you ditched the eyepatch. Did the game fix your mangled eye?
Greg muttered in a nonimpressed manner "Very observant."
Jamie giggled softly, then turned to Adam. Recognition immediately flashed in his eyes.
"Oh, I know you," he said. "You’re Ouroboros, right? The famous one."
Adam frowned slightly. "You’ve heard of me?"
Jamie smiled. "Everyone’s heard of you. You’re super famous in Souls Online."
Adam had a skeptical look on his face as he remarked. "I have a feeling that isn’t necessarily a good thing...."
"Well I mean, the last time I checked on the Forum, you had a fanclub....."
"That doesn’t sound too bad."
"But it’s filled with psychos who want to do weird stuff like lock you up forever or want to consume your essence like hair, toenails and blood...."
Adam clapped his hands together as he shouted "There it is!". As he knew something fucked up was gonna be attributed to him.
Ignoring Adam’s reaction, Jamie’s gaze swept the gym one last time, searching for someone else. His playful expression faded into one of quiet focus. Then his eyes landed on him.
Across the room, Leo had just sat his dumbbell on the floor and was catching his breath. His messy blonde hair glowed faintly under the lights, his feline ears twitching gently as his kitten-like tail moved in rhythm with his breathing. His green eyes had a calm strength to them, bright yet soft.
Jamie froze completely. His voice came out like a whisper from a maiden in love. "I found you."
Leo turned his head slightly. "Huh?"
Jamie’s eyes sparkled with joy and relief. His feminine voice trembled with excitement as he stepped forward. "You’re even better than I imagined."
Greg groaned quietly. "Oh no."
Morgan sighed. "Here we go."
Jamie clasped his hands together and twirled lightly on his heel, his skirt fluttering with the motion. "Morgan, you didn’t tell me that you were acquainted with literal celebrities!"
Jamie crossed the gym floor llike they were possessed until they were standing next to Leo. "I am a big fan of yours. May I take a picture with you please. I wanna boast to my Chat."
Leo tilted his head slightly, his tail swaying in mild confusion. "Chat?" he asked, not quite sure what Jamie meant.
Jamie blinked, then smiled as if realizing something obvious. "Oh! You probably didn’t know," he said with a proud grin. "Souls Online has a streaming function. It’s built right into the game. You can broadcast directly to the outside world. My viewers can see everything I do in real time."
Morgan frowned, his movements halting. "Streaming function? Since when?"
Jamie shrugged casually, twirling his phone between his fingers. "A couple months ago. When the world update came, new functions were unlocked for everybody and streaming was one of them!"
Morgan’s frown deepened, but he stayed quiet, trying to process what he had just heard. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Leo rubbed the back of his neck, still puzzled. "That’s... weird."
Jamie grinned, completely unfazed by the growing unease in the room. "Well, now you know!" He suddenly brightened, raising his phone and stepping beside Leo. "Let’s commemorate this moment!"
Leo blinked. "Wait, what are you—"
Before he could finish, Jamie leaned in close, holding his phone high as the camera flashed.
Click.
The photo was perfect: Jamie beaming with excitement, Leo standing awkwardly beside him with a dumbbell still at his feet.
Jamie bounced on his toes, giddy with excitement. "I can’t believe it! I actually got a picture with the King of Femboys!"
The room froze solid. Even Ethan, who had been running laps, stopped dead in his tracks.
Leo’s ears twitched. His tail went still. Slowly, his head turned toward Jamie, his voice dropping into a cold growl. "Excuse me? I’m the King of fucking what?!
Adam and Greg felt like they were going to burst out laughing at any second and Morgan could feel Leo’s murderous intent as he glared at Jamie who was oblivious to it all.
Leo was pissed
