SHATTERED REALM: FORGOTTEN ECHOES-Chapter 194: Provocation IV
If they didn’t cheat their way into the ranks, how could such people gain such a title?
"I can’t believe even Rector acknowledged them as great students."
It just couldn’t be possible that even the Rector was fooled by such people.
"Their fighting style is strange," the girl standing beside him observed.
"Do you have any information on their attributes?" he asked her.
She shook her head, then turned to Lydan and Jade, who were frozen in place, watching the fight rage on.
She snapped her fingers, amplifying the sound with her wind so the two heard.
"What are their attributes?" she asked, using her wind as a medium to transfer the sound.
It could be said that her control was very smooth.
Using wind to control sound wasn’t a difficult thing, but in a situation such as this, where sounds from the battle around them kept causing disturbances, one needed precise control to transfer specific sounds to an area.
And she didn’t just control the sound towards Lydan and Jade.
She directly transferred it to their ears, making sure her words were crisp and clear.
After receiving her answer, she turned to the leader.
"The platinum-haired girl is an ice user, but the other two hadn’t exactly shown their powers.
Though they suspect the girl might be a flame user."
PAH!
The sound echoed as a strong force surged outward.
Aramith met his opponent’s palm strike with his palm, and the attack exploded.
The force separated them, putting some distance between them.
His opponent was breathing heavily, but Aramith was the same.
Even though the force had pushed them apart, Aramith was unmoved, standing in the same spot, while his opponent was thrown away, his feet digging two trenches as he stabilized himself.
The young man turned to him. "Stop joking around."
He wanted to explain, but realized how embarrassing it would have been if he said he wasn’t joking around.
Only he knew how much force he’d put into that attack. He didn’t hold back from the start, and yet he was the one getting exhausted while Aramith remained aloof.
What the hell is his story? He’s still looking down on me. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
At the moment, a chill ran down his spine. Something about Aramith unsettled him.
He can’t be that much stronger than me, right?
[Yeah, dream on!]
The girl noticed something and jerked her head towards Aramith.
"I figured something, look at his skin."
The young man observed Aramith’s skin. "What’s odd about his— oh...so that’s how it is," he smiled.
Only one attribute had the trait of extremely pale skin that looked sickly.
"So you’re a damned...no wonder you’re so strong and can parry. I wonder what beast form you have..."
"Since he’s not dodging, it should be a beast with superior strength. Can’t be an aerial creature; he’s not agile. Definitely a ground beast."
He pondered a moment, sizing Aramith up. "Maybe I’ll step in, but first..."
He glanced at Sylvia, who was holding her own, then to Mozrael, who seemed to be the weakest of the bunch.
"I wonder if he’ll remain cool after I do something about his friends."
The girl shivered. "Don’t tell me you..."
Lydan couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
He knew his strength, and when Aramith broke his arm, he guessed it was a powerful artifact he used, or a one-kill move, and since he wasn’t sure, he backed down.
But now... "Am I seeing things?"
Blow after blow, hit after hit, Aramith remained calm, blocking and parrying everything that was thrown at him.
And the craziest part? He hadn’t even taken a step from where he stood.
His opponent hadn’t been able to make him move or change his expression.
This wasn’t the same Aramith he knew. No wonder he was so confident.
He clenched his fist and looked at Lynnor. What did you do...?
She noticed his gaze and grinned, waving lightly at him as she chuckled.
Lydan understood one thing.
He couldn’t defeat the current Aramith.
And his opponent also had no chance of defeating him. He looked at the leader of the group, but was surprised to see him smiling.
A chill ran down his spine.
That smile always preceded something terrible.
He followed his line of sight and realized he wasn’t looking at Aramith. His gaze was fixated on Mozrael.
Aramith resumed combat with his opponent, but just then, he noticed a murderous aura.
Lynnor suddenly got up and looked in the distance. "Ah, perfect timing. Come alleviate me of my boredom." She looked down, and her expression changed. "You’re courting death!"
Aramith turned to see the leader of the group, who’d remained still the whole time, entering the battleground.
There was an evil look in his eyes and a murderous aura about him. And he was headed straight for Mozrael!
Aramith suddenly frowned, and an even more intimidating murderous intent arose from him. The surrounding temperature turned cold. His opponent felt sweat on his back as his hair stood on end.
Aramith quickly shifted and drove his leg into the boy’s abdomen.
Puff!
He spat out blood as he felt a mountain of force shoot into his body, turning him into a projectile that shot into a tree.
Boom!
The tree broke into two before he was planted in the ground, unconscious.
The sound made everyone turn, and as the leader turned to look, he saw Aramith appear right in front of him.
The murderous look in the boy’s eyes was like a feral beast about to rip into its prey.
Dark matter swirled around his hand as he prepared to strike.
The leader couldn’t move, and no one had noticed Aramith about to kill him.
"Die!" Aramith said.
Bam!
"Not here," a calm voice spoke to Aramith.
Another sound echoed, and this time, everyone stopped.
When the dust settled, they saw Lynnor standing next to Aramith, gripping his hand.
Lynnor saw that Aramth was going to kill the one who’d targeted Mozrael with such evil intent.
If she hadn’t stepped in just now, Aramith would have killed him right on the spot.
She quickly slapped the boy away, breaking a few bones with that casual strike, before grabbing Aramith’s hand to stop him.
Everyone stared, confused.
Didn’t Lynnor say she wasn’t going to interrupt?
Now she’s protecting her own student by attacking a student?
What kind of crazy teacher was that?
"Lynnor! You dare attack a student?" A loud voice boomed above them.
Almost everyone trembled in fear, feeling immense pressure from the owner of the voice.
Lydan and the rest felt the most fear as they recognized the voice.
It was none other than their own teacher.
"This is bad..." Jade muttered.
