Chapter 571: Tussling like puppies

Qie Xieling took another sip of his milkshake while watching Bo Ailun excitedly scoffing down the wings. Several times his mouth opened and closed wanting to say something but he didn’t say anything in the end. He was afraid that he would choke on a chicken bone because of him.

"Mmm... this is so good. I feel like I haven’t eaten them in years. Are you sure you don’t want some?" asked Bo Ailun having noticed that Qie Xieling was just staring at him.

"No, it’s fine. I bought them for you. Hurry up and finish them before your mom comes up," he replied and Bo Ailun pressed his finger on his lips trying to sheesh him.

"Shh shh shh, Don’t jinx it," he said and as though the universe had something against him the door was knocked.

Bo Ailun’s eyes widened and he shoved the bag of wings in the bag and shoved it into his drawer.

Qie Xieling got up and saw that the auntie had brought over a platter of cut fruit. "Thank you," he said and she smiled happily before walking away.

"It’s not your mum," he said as he sat the platter on the bedside pedestal. Bo Ailun sighed in relief. He took out his wings and continued eating.

"Did you lock the door?" he asked and Qie Xieling sat beside him while replying,

"Yep. Your mum won’t come barging in."

"What happened to that Leong Jinn guy?" asked Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling leaned back comfortably into the pillow while saying,

"You don’t want to know. He won’t bother you anymore though. You don’t have to worry about him."

Bo Ailun didn’t ask again. He got up and threw the bag into the trash before getting into the bathroom to wash his hands. While he was rubbing his hands with soap his phone in his pocket suddenly buzzed. He rinsed his hands and dried them before taking out his phone. When he saw it was a message from Luo Muchen his brow arched.

Qie Xieling who was still sitting on Bo Ailun’s bed was starting to get worried. He had been in the bathroom for so long and hadn’t come out. Thinking he passed out in the bathroom or something he got up and put on his slippers while saying, "You better have fallen into the toilet for you to take that long."

When he stood at the door he found Bo Ailun almost dropping his phone into the sink from fright. He quickly caught his phone and locked the screen before shoving it into his pocket.

Qie Xieling furrowed his brows a little suspicious. He had known Bo Ailun for years and knew when he was hiding something.

"What? Did you get a girl behind my back?" he asked and Bo Ailun laughed nervously. If he denied it then Qie Xieling would still have to interrogate him which wasn’t good.

"Well," he said while walking past him into the bedroom.

"Well, what? Who is it?" asked Qie Xieling his curiosity piqued.

"It’s not official official. She’s just that senior from calculus. She heard I was sick and wrote me a message checking on me so... I don’t even think she likes me like that," he said throwing that senior under the bus.

Qie Xieling who was eager to help his friend took the phone away and said, "I can help you. Come come, this old father will teach you how to flirt with a girl." Says the guy who was asking his uncle a few hours ago how to chase someone.

Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on Bo Ailun quickly snatched his phone back before Qie Xieling could unlock it. He reached for his phone, but Qie Xieling moved his hand away and began to unlock Bo Ailun’s phone.

"Lin-ge, give it back," he said and Qie Xieling laughed softly.

"What are you hiding, huh? What is it? Porn? What haven’t I seen on your phone? Here you can have mine," he said while tossing his phone to him.

Qie Xieling wasn’t lying. They could swap phones for a day and none of them would panic. In fact, one time Bo Ailun offended this girl he liked and it was Qie Xieling who replied as him smoothing things over for him. They were what others would call partners in crime.

Now Bo Ailun wasn’t letting him touch his phone. That was like telling a teenager not to do something. They would most definitely do that shit. Bo Ailun jumped on him trying to get his phone back. Qie Xieling laughed his curiosity growing even greater.

He held the phone above his head, out of Bo Ailun’s reach. He teased Bo Ailun about his messages with the senior. "What did you tell her? You should have told her that you got injured while rescuing a kitten. Girls like those kinds of things... AH, did you just pinch me!"

"Serves you right," said Bo Ailum before he tackled Qie Xieling and pinned him down, but Qie Xieling wriggled out of his grip and flipped him over. The two of them tussled on the bed, roughhousing and tickling each other, while their laughter filled the room.

They were having so much fun that they didn’t notice when the handle of the door was turned. The person seemed to notice that it was locked so they unlocked it with the spare key. The door suddenly opened and Bo Ailun’s mother walked in and saw the two boys on the bed, their clothes dishevelled and their hair tousled. She smiled and set down the tray of water and pills she was carrying.

She wasn’t surprised. The auntie had already told her that Qie Xieling had come over. She just didn’t think they would already be playing like puppies just like they did when they were kids.

"Lun-er, Lin-er, what are you doing?" she asked, her voice cheerful and warm.

"Mom, we’re just... messing around. He took my phone and I want it back," Bo Ailun said, snitching with no hesitation. He realized how awkward they looked as two grown men tussling on the bed.
