Chapter 572: Messing around

"Messing around, huh? Is that what you call it?" she said and Qie Xieling chuckled while arching her brows taunting Bo Ailun. A pillow was thrown at his face and Qie Xieling stifled his laughter.

"Lin-er, how are you feeling now? You two had me worried. I am glad you are all back home safe."

Qie Xieling got off the bed to greet her. Miss Bo pulled him into a hug and checked him from top to bottom making sure he wasn’t hurt.

"Auntie, I am okay. I wasn’t hurt. You can be reassured," he said and she stopped but she still had a look of worry in her eyes. She had been worried sick about them but couldn’t help much. She could only go to the temple and pray for their safe return. She had stayed there until she got a call that they had been brought home, safe and sound.

"I am so glad you’re okay. You’re like a son to me and if anything happened to you I would be just as heartbroken as your dads," she said and she meant every word.

Qie Xieling smiled feeling his heart slowly warm up like it had been soaked in a gentle spring. He was about to say something when Bo Ailun said, "Mum, aren’t you supposed to be leaving for the temple soon?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

She almost forgot. She gasped and said, "I almost forgot. Lin Lin stay over, okay. Auntie can even give you a haircut," before pinching his cheek. "Sweetie, drink your meds please."

After she left Qie Xieling pulled his hair down and couldn’t help but wonder if it was that bad.

"Is it that bad?" he asked and Bo Ailun using his lack of attentiveness snatched his phone back and said,

"It looks not so bad but you definitely need a haircut."

Qie Xieling, "..."

"Says the guy who has a bird’s nest head of hair."

Bo Ailun, "..."

"You know what? Fuck you," said Bo Ailun raising his middle finger.

Qie Xieling laughed before saying, "No thanks. I already have someone for that."

Bo Ailun laughed out loud but his laughter gradually died down and he exclaimed, "What?!"

Qie Xieling hadn’t meant to say it but it suddenly came out of his lips out of nowhere. He sighed as he sat down on the bed.

"You were giving me hell about that senior yet you are hiding such a secret from me," he said almost wishing he could strangle Qie Xieling.

"I didn’t give you hell. I was just trying to help you. Big difference there," said Qie Xieling while pulling the bed cover that had half fallen off the bed while they were tussling.

He covered himself with it and Bo Ailun knew that he was trying to hide. Bo Ailun pulled the covers and after a game of tug of war Qie Xieling finally stopped hiding but his face was so red like he was blushing.

"Fuck! Who is it? Which girl? Is it Lee Ya?" asked Bo Ailun. He wanted to know who was this great Buddha who had taken down this monk.

"Fuck no! I would rather die," said Qie Xieling his soul almost vacating his body. If Luo Muchen heard him say that wouldn’t that massacre his chances?

"It’s not her. Might of fact It’s not a girl," he continued to say and Bo Ailun was a little surprised. How come he never thought of that?

Well, that’s because Qie Xieling admires girls with him all the time. Even with the title monk he could flirt with any girl and make them kowtow at his feet so Bo Ailun always assumed.

"Oh, then who is it? Is it someone I know?" he asked trying to act coquettish and get the information out of him.

"Not telling yet. I will tell you when the fish takes the bait," said Qie Xieling but Bo Ailun was itching to know.

He slipped underneath the covers and started playing twenty questions.

"Is it someone I know?"

Qie Xieling indulged him. "Yes."

"Someone in your major?"

"No?"

"Taller than you?"

"No."

"More handsome than you?"

Qie Xieling had to think carefully there. He had never compared himself to Luo Muchen well, except their junior brother sizes once.

"Not sure," he answered and Bo Ailun was hard-pressed trying to come up with another question.

"Are they gay?" he suddenly asked recalling how Qie Xieling’s parents got together.

"Not sure... I think he is straight," said Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun was visibly distressed.

"Wu wu wu, it’s unrequited love. You are going to die alone," he said pretending to wipe away fake tears.

Qie Xieling laughed angrily and he smacked him upside his head. "How can you curse your old father like that?" he said and Bo Ailun rubbed his hair while saying,

"Then how are you going to win him over? If he is as handsome as you say he is then he might have a girlfriend already."

"He is single, I think," he said but Bo Ailun unintentionally rubbed salt on the wound.

"For a second I thought you were referring to Luo Muchen but I remembered that he is not single. Remember that guy, what’s his name again?"

Qie Xieling’s lips twitched recalling BagerZ. How could he forget about him?

"Ba was Begg no no it was Ba—," he said only for Qie Xieling to shove a piece of watermelon in his mouth.

"You want ice cream?" he asked and Bo Ailun completely forgot what they were talking about.

"Yes yes yes please," he said and Qie Xieling handed it to him with a plastic spoon.

"Mm this is bliss," he said after eating two spoonfuls. He almost broke down in tears. "You are so good to me. This is why we are friends," he said and Qie Xieling laughed. It was easy to shut him up but his words had truly struck a nerve. He had to call Luo Muchen soon.

As it turned out, there was no need to call him at all. When it was around seven Bo Ailun suddenly refused for him to sleep over. This was unlike him.

Thinking he wanted to chat with his senior and reassure her he decided not to make it difficult for him. Thus at seven p.m Qie Xieling stepped out of the Bo house. If Bo Ailun’s mother was around she would never have allowed him to leave.

When he stepped out Qie Xieling’s soul left his body staring at the figure leaning against the car right at the small gate.
