Chapter 556: Hurricane Wen

Qie Ranzhe turned the handle of the room where Wen Qinxi was sleeping, the dim light from the small lamp casting a soft glow over the space. Wen Qinxi had taken off his sweater and was lying with his limbs sprawled all over the place his brows creased like he wasn’t peaceful even in his dream.

Qie Ranzhe took off his jacket and hung it with the sweater before sitting next to him. He gently caressed Wen Qinxi’s cheek and his fingers trailed up to his forehead that was knitted together and massaged it. In his sleep, Wen Qinxi whimpered softly, stirring at Qie Ranzhe’s touch. His brows loosened and they were no longer furrowed. With a sigh, Qie Ranzhe squeezed into the small bed, wrapping his arms around Wen Qinxi, seeking solace in the warmth of their embrace.

"I found him Xi Xi. I found him," he whispered into Wen Qinxi’s ear the tautness in his muscles loosening as he unburdened himself from the stress he had for so long.

Qie Ranzhe’s hands slipped into Wen Qinxi’s clothes caressing the warm skin on his belly. Wen Qinxi smiled slightly in his sleep as though approving what Qie Ranzhe was doing. The two of them fell asleep for a while but even a tranquilizer couldn’t keep Wen Qinxi down for long.

After a mere hour or two he was already up. In his dreams, he kept seeing his little cub crying out asking him why he wasn’t saving him. This recurring dream would always wake him up.

He stirred, his eyelids fluttering open. The room was cloaked in shadows, the desk lamp casting a silvery glow on the concrete wall. His heart still raced, the remnants of the nightmare clinging to him like cobwebs.

His eyes were heavy, and he felt as if he had run a marathon. But he couldn’t sleep anymore. He tried to sit up but he felt a heavy arm wrapped around his waist.

He glanced back and found his husband lying beside him. Qie Ranzhe’s chest rose and fell rhythmically, the steady beat of his heart a comforting lullaby.

Wen Qinxi shifted, and Qie Ranzhe stirred, eyelashes fluttering. His dark eyes met Wen Qinxi’s, and he smiled, still half-asleep. "You are awake already?... Had a nightmare?" he murmured, his voice rough with sleep. Qie Ranzhe had always been attuned to Wen Qinxi’s mood and could tell he didn’t rest well.

Wen Qinxi nodded and Qie Ranzhe placed his big palm on Wen Qinxi’s face and caressed his cheek with his thumb trying to coax him. Qie Ranzhe sat up while saying, "Come here. He pulled Wen Qinxi into his arms. The warmth of his body seeped through Wen Qinxi’s skin, melting away the negative emotions. "You won’t have nightmares anymore," Qie Ranzhe whispered, pressing a kiss to Wen Qinxi’s forehead. "It’s all over."

Wen Qinxi leaned into the embrace, his head resting against Qie Ranzhe’s chest. The steady thump of his heartbeat had a soothing effect on Wen Qinxi. Qie Ranzhe stroked Wen Qinxi’s hair, his touch gentle and soothing. Just as he sank into the calming feeling Wen Qinxi suddenly opened his eyes having caught something. "Wait? Did you find him?" he asked and Qie Ranzhe rubbed against Wen Qinxi’s hair before saying. "Mn."

Wen Qinxi immediately sat up and put on his shoes in a hurry. Qie Ranzhe who thought they could stay like this a little longer was startled. He grabbed Wen Qinxi’s arm and Wen Qinxi turned to look at him. "Luo Shih is already getting the truth out of him. Just give her more time," he said but Wen Qinxi couldn’t sit still for a moment. He was extremely restless.

"I will only take a look that’s all," he replied sounding so convincing.

Three minutes later Wen Qinxi opened the door and walked out. He glanced at Machu sitting on Airen’s lap before walking past them.

Qie Ranzhe followed after him while saying, "You two get a room."

Machu, "???"

"Wow, Ran-ge—," he exclaimed. Why was he getting targeted when these two were always force-feeding him dog food?

Airen rested her head on his shoulder and said, "Forget him. He is jealous." Machu shrugged his shoulders but soon he was yelping as he got up. Airen had slid her hand down to his groin.

"You!..." he yelled making sure to distance himself from her like he was afraid of being eaten.

Airen laughed tiredly while taunting him. "Why are you acting like a bashful bride? Come here."

Machu, "..."

There was no way he was going anywhere near her. She was about to stand up and grab him when there was a loud commotion that had them rushing over.

When they arrived there Wen Qinxi was stomping Leong Jinn half to death and Qie Ranzhe was trying to stop him. The tension in the atmosphere was extremely intense.

A few minutes ago Wen Qinxi came to the door but Qie Ranzhe tried to talk some sense into him. He wanted him to calm down before he entered the room where Leong Jinn was being kept.

Wen Qinxi was so angry that not even the heavens could stop him from getting his hands on Leong Jinn. They argued at the door at first.

Well, it wasn’t an argument but rather Wen Qinxi threatening his husband to move out of the way and Qie Ranzhe coaxing him to calm down. Wen Qinxi knew he wouldn’t be able to move his husband out of the way because he was obviously bigger than him so he decided to calm down... for now.

Seeing his husband taking a deep breath Qie Ranzhe foolishly thought that he had calmed down. Maybe it was the exhaustion that made him drop his guard.

After he was sure that Hurricane Wen had calmed down he opened the door. As soon as Wen Qinxi entered the room he went berserk. Neither Qie Ranzhe nor Luo Shih saw it coming.

She was in the middle of torturing Leong Jinn when this tornado came bursting in and wreaking havoc.

Luo Shih didn’t even bother stopping him. She stood to the side and couldn’t help but yell internally, ’Burst his balls bestie. Kick his ass!’

Wen Qinxi was merciless. He stomped that man’s family jewels until they were mush. Leong Jinn couldn’t even protect himself. He cried in anguish while trying to loosen his restraints to curl up into a ball.

Wen Qinxi didn’t know where he got the strength. He pushed Qie Ranzhe away who was trying to stop him and kicked the procedure chair. With a bang, it fell to the ground with the person strapped in it.

The restraints loosened and Leong Jinn thought he could crawl away. He could get away from these crazy people but he underestimated Wen Qinxi.

The man only got more ruthless. He kicked the chair off of Leong Jinn so that damn thing wouldn’t protect this bastard.

He got in three more kicks before Qie Ranzhe grabbed his arms to stop him. Qie Ranzhe had never thought there would be a day when he would fail to subdue his husband.

He heard someone laughing so he glanced in that direction. Of course, it was Luo Shih. Instead of helping she was finding it quite amusing.

"Aren’t you going to help?" he asked his tone accusatory. All she had to do was move Leong Jinn out of the way but she was just standing there.

She shrugged her shoulders and said, "What? He is not my husband."

Qie Ranzhe gritted his teeth and hauled Wen Qinxi over his shoulder. Even then Wen Qinxi struggled while cursing so much that it would terrify the gods.

"You son of $%@! I am going to $%@! $%@! and don’t you $%@! $%@! $%@!"

"Oh my," whispered Airen having witnessed a hysterical Wen Qinxi for the first time.

Someone suddenly pushed between her and Machu and ran in while yelling, "I got Shih-jie!"

Luo Shih who was standing there minding her own business, "..."

"Hey!... Xiwen, get off me," she said while he was hugging her from behind suppressing her arms.

"Shh shh shh it is okay. No need to panic. I am here," he said in a soft voice like he was coaxing a child after they had a nightmare.

Luo Shih, "..."

"You... do you want to die?" she said through gritted teeth but Hei Xiwen stuck to her like sticky tofu. It was as though he had finally got his chance and was determined to take full advantage of it.

Ten minutes later the situation in the banker had calmed down. Leong Jinn was forced to wake after passing out. He was being restrained by two men his bloodied face unpleasant to look at.

Wen Qinxi was sitting in the chair typing away with a stern look on his face while Qie Ranzhe was sitting next to him watching him with an intense yet anxious gaze.

While trying to restrain him they had both suffered some injuries. Qie Ranzhe had suffered the most but his heart couldn’t help but bleed seeing the bruise on the side of Wen Qinxi’s neck. He wanted to apologise but this wasn’t the right time.
