Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 227: A Sweet Ending
Bright morning.
Golden sun ray.
Cool, soft breeze.
The garden was breathingly beautiful that morning; the flowers were carefully plucked and used to make a slim walkway that led to the beautifully decorated grotto.
The tree leaves danced very slowly, soft fluttering a calming sound to the beautiful gathering.
Everyone important was seated on the elegantly decorated chairs in the garden, the large trees shielding them from the cooling.
A large flower arch stood magnificently behind the decorated statue and in front of the statue stood Lake.
Handome, regal, tall, sophisticated, and... in love.
He stood there, dressed in a comfortable expensive, sage green tailored suit. His hand confidently placed on his side as he waited for his bride.
Soon, the crowd gasped softly in surprise and appreciation, everyone turning their head down the decorflower walkway, including Lake.
The crowd collectively gasped, heads turning down the flower-lined walkway, including Lake’s.
The moment his gaze landed on her, the world seemed to pause.
Everything else faded away as he focused on his entire universe, the woman who was his life and his purpose.
Mikhail led his mother along the decorated path toward the grotto, their hands clasped. Audrey was a vision. Her beauty wasn’t in extravagance but in elegant simplicity: a stunning, sleeveless, V-neck silk dress that revealed her back.
Her vibrant red curls cascaded loosely, bouncing softly with each step.
She held her son’s hand with one and a beautiful bouquet with the other.
A delicate white veil swept the grass behind her as she walked. The sun seemed to shine just for her, illuminating her ethereal beauty.
Her eyes, filled with calm assurance and love, were locked on Lake. Her heart pounded a steady rhythm: he was hers.
Mikhail led his mother calmly to the grotto, handing her to his father.
"Here’s your woman, daddy," Mikhail said, winking at Lake.
Lake smiled, taking Audrey’s hand in his, "Thank you, Alpha." He bowed his head to his son before raising his head to look at his blushing bride.
"You look heavenly, my Luna," He whispered.
Audrey smiled, "You too, my Alpha." She spoke very softly, and the wind gently blew her hair around.
A certain kind of wind suddenly meandered the grounds, picking up flowers and floating them around the couple.
’What a lovely gathering,’ The statue’s smooth, soft voice rang out audibly.
Everyone went quiet, all attention tuned to the grotto, staring at the powerful and beautiful couple.
Audrey’s eyes were locked on Lake’s, and so was his.
In their minds, they played out every single memory, from the time Audrey served as a slave, when she was disposed from the pack... almost dead, when she returned in disgusted, how they fell in love, faced Malachi and Elena, separated for five years, found each other in Paris, returned to the pack together... and now... after overcoming ever single obstacle, they now stood in front of the whole pack, about to tue the knot in front of everyone that has witnessed their story.
’I don’t think we need to ask for vows, everyone present has been a witness to the love story of this lovely couple. Their vows are reflected in their struggles, everyday life, words, and looks. I just have a simple question for you both,’ The statue paused, allowing everyone to focus on the lovely.
Lake’s hand tightened on Audrey, his eyes professing his undying love for her.
Mikhail walked back to the grotto, holding an open golden box in his hand, and the diamond rings winked brightly under the golden sun rays.
He stood in front of his parents’ joined hands, a loving smile on his face.
’In the presence of your beloved pack members, friends, and family. In this same garden that witnessed your tragic separation decades ago, do you both take each other as a worthy half, a mate, husband and wife?’ The statue spoke softly.
"I do," Lake’s deep voice boomed.
"I do," Audrey’s voice softly echoed around Lake.
Lake gently held up Audrey’s hand and picked a ring from the ring box Mikhail was holding.
He held it over Audrey’s ring finger, locking his eyes on hers, "This is just a ring, Moma, a physical proof of our love, but even without it, you’re mine, and I’m yours. Please, stay mine forever." He professed and slid the diamond ring around her finger.
Audrey but her lower lip, her eyes turning teary as she stared at the face of her husband.
It was her turn, she picked the ring and leaned down to kiss her son’s head, "Thank you, my prince," she whispered to him.
Holding Lake’s hand up, she gave him a sweet smile, "Will you marry me?" She asked, causing the crowd to laugh.
Lake chuckled, "Yes, my love. I married you in our previous life, I’m marrying you now, and if there’s a next reincarnation, I’ll find you, and I’ll marry you. Yes, My Luna, I will marry you," He answered.
As the crowd clapped and cheered, Audrey slid the ring on his finger, tears falling down her face.
Lake immediately drew her in his arms and hugged her tightly.
’You may kiss your bride, Alpha,’ The statue announced.
"Gladly," Lake whispered and pressed his lips onto Audrey’s.
"Congratulations, Luna!" Maria shouted from the crowd as the couple kept kissing each other.
The applause was loud, cheers were joyful and heartfelt.
Audrey pulled away, smiling brightly, "I love you, Lake Aloha," She whispered.
Lake kissed her lips, "I love you, Audrey Aloha. I love our son..." he paused and pulled Mikhail between them, "and I love our little princesses," He placed his hand on her still-flat belly.
"I love them, too," Mikhail turned and kissed Audrey’s belly.
"Come on, we’ve got guests to greet," Lake kisses Audrey’s cheek and wraps his arm around her waist, holding Mikhail’s hand.
"Congratulations, my children, it brings me so much joy to see how far you both have come," Isabella walked up to them and hugged them as they walked out of the grotto.
Before they knew it, they were surrounded by family, "I mean, I always knew they were end game," Mary mentioned, winking at Audrey.
"I remember when Audrey’s only vision was to get back to the Grey Blood Pack and get her amulet... look where we are now," Maria said, tearing up as she hugged Audrey.
Mary chuckled, "Yeah, she hated you then - ouch!" She bent over as Mirand had pinched her stomach to keep her shut.
"Congratulations, dear ones. Your union is still eternity," Miranda placed her hand on both of the couple’s shoulders.
Ms. Bridget walked over, a meaningful smile on her ageing face. Without saying a word, she walked over to Audrey and hugged her.
She might not be Audrey’s real mother, but she was unquestionably a mother to her.
She was with her in her most difficult times, and she saw her through every single phase of her struggles.
This was a nostalgic moment for them.
"You both deserve happiness," Ms. Bridget said, smiling.
"Thank you, everyone. We wouldn’t have gotten here without any of you. You all are the foundation of our union, and we’ll be forever grateful," Lake said, smiling at everyone.
"Come, let’s go click those pictures," Maria said and held Audrey’s hand, taking her away from her bride.
"Is that allowed? Am I not supposed to be the first to..." he pointed to Audrey and Maria walking over to the decorated garden where the lighting and other cinematic settings were propped up.
"Don’t worry, brother. I wouldn’t want to be in a picture with you, I mean, how did that damsel agree to marry a knucklehead like you?" Mark sauntered over with Leon by his side.
Lake simply smiled and pulled Mark in for a hug.
"What the hell, Lake? Get your hands off of me," Mark protested but his arms were hugging Lake back.
"Thank you, big brother. Thank you for preparing this place for us, it’s beautiful, excellent. I appreciate your help over the years, too," Lake pulled away, smiling at Mark.
"Oh, I mean... you’re welcome, that’s what brothers are for," Mark replied, smiling.
Lake nodded, "Yeah, and... that damsel over there?" He pointed at Audrey who was surrounded by all her friends, taking different poses at the camera, "She agreed to marry me because I’m the sexiest, most handsome, richest, most romantic, strongest Alpha to ever walk the ground of earth... and, because I’m better than you." He tapped Mark’s shoulder and walked past him with a satisfied smile.
"That devil, I should never have trusted him," Mark muttered, narrowing his eyes at Lake.
Leon chuckled, "I don’t hate Lake anymore. He’s actually a fun guy," He said to Mark, "Let’s go take a few pictures with them," He held a frowning Mark’s hand and led him toward the camera.
"Hey! Over here," Alex waved Leon and Mark over.
As everyone gathered for the camera, Lake and Audrey stared into each other’s eyes, a promise of forever after shining through their eyes.
"I love you," Lake whispered.
"Me too, my love... me too," She smiled happily.
Just as Lake leaned in for a kiss, their picture was captured, forever to be remembered as the day they joined as one.
