Chapter 134: "Show yourself out,"

While Qie Xieling was going through torturous pain, the KTV building had been closed off and the victims were sent to the hospital.

Luo Shih had arrived in the country the same day it happened and she was wreaking havoc like a mad woman. The entire city had been turned upside down. She had been hunting down anyone and everyone with that unique tattoo.

They were part of an organisation with no specific ties to any particular country. They were open for hire anywhere in the world but now that she had cast her net on all borders it would be very difficult for the mercenaries to leave the country. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Luo Shih tried to track her son down but whoever took him had deactivated the tracking chip. It last pinged at the pier but her son hadn’t been thrown in the sea. Because of this she had fallen into past habits, smoking to calm her nerves and remain focused.

With a cigarette pinched in between her fingers, she sifted through the dozen camera feeds trying to find anything that she missed. She had people doing that for her but she couldn’t remain idle. She took a long drag and pushed her hair back while resting her eyes which had been staring at the screen for so long.

While pinching the space between her brows negative thoughts crept up on her again. Her nose felt sour and her eyes stung. Just when a tear was about to drop her phone on the desk rang. She wiped away the tear and sniffled before picking it up.

"Yah," she answered while taking another drag.

"Ma’am, it’s Lee Bigen. He said he needs to see you. It’s urgent," said her secretary through the receiver.

Luo Shih leaned back in her seat while blowing out a puff of smoke. "Let him in," she said before hanging up the call.

As she set the receiver down, the door opened and Lee Bigen walked in his expression stern and filled with cold fury.

"What did you find?" she asked and Lee Bigen sat down opposite her. His throat bobbed when he saw Luo Shih lean her head back elongating her neck as she let out a thick puff of smoke. He suddenly had the urge to smoke as well hence he said, "Can I?"

Luo Shih glared at him her expression seeming to say she wasn’t interested in talking to him. Lee Bigen didn’t insist.

He withdrew his hand and said, "I suspect it has to do with Leong Jinn. I forwarded everything I have found about him to you. We can go through it together if you want."

She was about to tell him to go make himself useful elsewhere when the door was pushed open and the smell of blood filled the room. Luo Shih glanced towards the direction of the door and found Hei Xiwen dragging a bloodied man into her office. The man had been beaten black and blue and was missing most of his fingernails.

"You!" yelled Lee Bigen but Hei Xiwen ignored him as he threw the man on the ground. He walked around Luo Shih’s desk and took the cigarette out of her hand before taking a long drag. The tiny burning embers at the end of the cigarette glowed brightly before he released a puff of smoke.

His clothes were dishevelled and his knuckles bloody but he didn’t seem to notice. He gave back the cigarette to Luo Shih and to Lee Bigen’s surprise she put it in her mouth.

"Show yourself out," said Hei Xiwen and Lee Bigen lost his shit at that moment. He knew that Luo Shih hadn’t had a long-term relationship after he disappeared and she had changed so many boyfriends over the years so he didn’t think she would have kept this gangster for so long.

"Shih," he called out. "Are you going to let the likes of him talk to me anyhow?"

"You heard him. Show yourself out," she said and Lee Bigen who didn’t want to irritate her any further turned to leave. He jumped over the man curled to the ground and walked out.

"Baobei, did you have to have him here," mumbled Hei Xiwen but Luo Shih just pointed at the man.

"Why is he dirtying my floor?" she asked and he lowered his head aggrievedly masking his jealousy.

"He did a similar tattoo for someone a few days ago," he said and Luo Shih got up before stepping on the man’s blood-stained hand with her six-inch stiletto heels.

The man screamed in agony and Luo Shih asked him, "Name, home address and appearance."

Luo Shih wasn’t the only one making trouble. Grandma Qie was kicking down doors alongside Nana Wen like vigilantes. Even when Qie Ranzhe told them he would handle it, those two wouldn’t stop. Thus with these two older women on his back, Qie Ranzhe was hunting down the mercenaries alongside Hei Xiwen.

Wen Qinxi on the other hand had confiscated all the cell phones in the KTV and he was sifting through each and every one of them looking for anything relating to this matter. Innocent or not, everyone’s phones were in his hands. He hadn’t slept in two days looking through videos and pictures taken by people in that building.

Since the cameras were hacked and the feed of that night cut off he had to rely on the videos and pictures to look for any suspicious-looking person.

He finally had a breakthrough in the evening but the image was grainy. Using AI technology he managed to enhance the image. When the image of the tattoo was enhanced his display suddenly glitched and a symbol familiar to him appeared. His computer scanned the tattoo and read it like a QR code.

"Leong Jinn," he said through gritted teeth. He clenched his fist and the veins on his temples throbbed.

In less than thirty minutes pictures of Leong Jinn were everywhere sending the entire country into a frenzy. That’s because the price of Leong Jinn’s head was in the millions to whoever brought him in.

Bounty hunters, gangsters and hackers alike took up the offer to hunt him down. By the time Luo Shih got on the bandwagon the bounty was twice the amount.

Even Jolie didn’t want to miss out on a paycheck. It was going to both restricted and unrestricted places looking for any signs of Leong Jinn. As to what use an AI would have for millions of dollars, no one knows.
