Chapter 26: Chapter 26 - A True Talent

What happened next was simple.

I wanted to know more about the others inside this room, because while they seemed to know a lot about me...

I didn’t.

I didn’t really care about Alek, who was more obnoxious than anything else, but that white-haired girl and that spear guy were definitely worth knowing more about.

"Are you guys confident in winning the tournament?" I asked out loud, hoping someone would bite.

And it did.

Just not from the people I wanted.

Alek, who was almost breathing down my neck, answered instantly, not giving a chance to anybody else.

"Haha! Fuck no. I’m only here because of my family. I’ll get in no matter what; they just wanted me to come here to earn my place like everyone else."

"You’ll get in no matter what?" I asked with a frown. I was literally the King’s daughter fiancée, and I needed to go through this tournament. Just what family was he even from?

"Yeah, my family gives a lot of money to the school. You know what they say... the Poys have a lot of money! Haha!" He continued to laugh as he kept hitting me with his shoulder, as if trying to crack jokes that... weren’t really hitting.

I nodded as I realized no one even tried to answer.

I decided to have another go at it.

"Well, I’m definitely confident. I think I can do pretty decent. What about you two?"

But even when he wasn’t mentioned, he just had to get involved.

"Of course you’re confident; all the women will want to date you instead of fighting you."

I clenched my jaw and grabbed Alek by the collar, bringing him closer to me, and whispered, "If you want me to help you get girls, shut your mouth. If I hear a single word coming out of your mouth from now on, I will never help you."

His eyes widened as he gulped and slowly nodded.

I almost burst out laughing internally. This guy really was one hell of a pervert. There was no doubt about it. Either that or he was one hell of a horny guy.

A few seconds of silence passed, and the spear guy started talking.

"I don’t know if I’ll win. This year has a lot of competition. Top 4 would be nice."

He seemed calm and composed, which was the complete opposite of the vibe I had gotten from him earlier. Nevertheless, it was interesting to hear such a powerful person say that his chances were low. Because, right now, I highly doubted that I could defeat this man. Maybe if I used the Blood Dagger, it would be close, but even then... it’d be tricky.

"Mhm. Same answer. I definitely can’t win. Top 2 would be nice."

"You can’t win? Isn’t that a loser’s mentality?" I asked them with a frown.

Those two were definitely top talents if they were saying things like that...

Though before I could even continue talking, they both burst out laughing.

"I guess you didn’t hear about who would be participating this year, have you?" the girl said with a smile as if mocking me.

Noticing how lost I looked, she decided to help me a little.

But just as she opened her mouth, the door opened, and this time I was one of the people staring, and I immediately realized what they had been talking about.

Winning this year was probably impossible, especially for someone like me who had only spent a week training and learning magic from literally zero.

I stared, and within seconds an information panel appeared before me, and it was unlike anything I had seen before. Even Seraphina’s could hardly compare.

There was simply nothing to be done.

She had... dozens of skills, multiple of them reaching a 100% comprehension. Some of them were of ranks I didn’t even know. Four affinities, all of them at the Pinnacle. She was just unbeatable. Fifth Mana Circle, at only 18.

That’s when I understood what they had just told me.

There was no way any of us would be winning this tournament, not with her around. Even with the Blood Dagger, it would be impossible because it would require me to hit her.

I could just feel it from her aura; she was five times as strong as all of us combined.

I gulped instinctively.

’Stupid Goddess. Why didn’t you make me reincarnate as that completely overpowered girl! Fuck it. I would have changed gender if it meant becoming this powerful,’ I thought in the back of my mind.

Her loyalty was at 0.

Her hypnosis resistance was at Impossible.

Yeah. There was no chance of me winning. Like the others said, Top 4 would be nice.

She walked forward as everyone continued to stare.

On top of being a completely busted mage, she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen in my life.

She had long black hair and black eyes that represented the void. But what truly set her apart was her flawless figure. She wore a black dress that fit her like a glove, her curves showing just right. Just her sight would make any normal man ogle at her.

As proof of that, Alek was doing just that, looking at her breasts and ass as she walked past us.

She sat down in silence as she simply stared outside into the arena.
