Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game-Chapter 87: The Guild Cards
Chapter 87 - 87: The Guild Cards
The newly built guild building stood tall in the village square, its wooden walls reinforced with stone and marked with a large sign: Quest Board. Villagers gathered around, eyes wide, murmuring to each other with excitement and nerves.
Lari, a young elf girl, clutched her freshly issued Bronze Card. It shimmered faintly in the sunlight, no bigger than her palm. Her hands trembled—not out of fear, but anticipation.
"Three slimes... ten coins," she read aloud. "Doesn't sound too hard."
Beside her, a broad-shouldered goblin named Ruin snorted. "Easy for you to say. Slimes are nasty when they cling to your arm. Remember Toren last night?"
Lari giggled. "He fell face-first into one and lost his sword."
"I heard Caelen had to pull it off with tongs," Ruin added, grinning.
A voice rang out from the side of the board. "Those who complete more than five beginner quests can get evaluated for Copper Rank! You want more coins? Earn them!"
It was Dorgrim, standing proudly in his blacksmith apron. The guild was his idea too—he'd helped design the ranking system alongside Caelen: Bronze, Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Seven levels of progress. Seven ways to grow.
The system made things feel real. Like an adventure.
Ruin glanced at Lari. "You teaming up with anyone?"
She nodded toward a small group of elves and young goblins already stretching nearby. "Yeah. We'll go to the east field. Heard there's more slime activity there."
He nodded. "I'll try the forest edge. Got a feeling something stronger might show up."
Lari looked at him. "Be careful. You've got a sword, but no armor."
Ruin raised his Bronze Card. "Then I'll just level up faster. That's the plan."
Out in the fields, Lari and her group encountered their first two slimes. The gelatinous creatures bounced lazily across the grass, unaware they were targets.
"Ready?" Lari asked, raising her wooden bow.
A goblin boy beside her, barely older than twelve, held a handmade spear. "Don't worry, I've been practicing with Garin."
They moved quickly. The slime squelched as the arrow pierced it. It split into two. The young goblin jabbed one with his spear, yelping as slime splattered on his cheek.
"Gross!"
"But it's dead," Lari said, smiling.
They cheered, tired but proud. After taking down one more, they sat beneath a tree and pulled out their cards. As if on cue, a soft glow pulsed from them.
[Progress Recorded. 3 Slimes Defeated. +10 Coins Added.]
Lari smiled. "We did it. We actually did it."
Back at the guild, villagers buzzed with stories. The guild hall felt alive—like a tavern filled with hopeful chatter.
"I saw a wolf-type creature," said a goblin with a bandaged arm. "Too fast for me."
"You mean a Greyfang?" a dwarf chimed in. "You're lucky it didn't bite your leg off."
Caelen entered with Zira by his side, checking the quest board. "Anyone return with reports on unusual monster sightings?"
A small crowd nodded and pointed toward a growing list pinned to the board.
Zira took notes. "Looks like we need to prepare Iron Rank quests soon."
An elf woman, tall and quiet, stood before Caelen holding her card. "I've finished eight slime and two boar quests. Can I be evaluated?"
Caelen smiled. "Let's check your progress."
He tapped her card with his ring, and a small light blinked on its surface. Her stats appeared briefly in the air—nothing fancy, just text and basic numbers.
"Efficient, careful, and consistent," Caelen said. "You're ready. Welcome to Copper Rank."
She bowed slightly, her eyes shining.
Nearby, Ruin dropped a bundle of torn claws and slime cores on a table. "Ten slimes. One wolf. Still Bronze?"
Dorgrim looked at the mess. "I'll have your card evaluated now. You've earned it, lad."
Ruin's card flickered, and a message popped up:
[Rank Evaluation Complete: Upgraded to Copper Rank.]
He grinned so wide his fangs showed. "Now we're talking."
The guild system brought something new to the village. Purpose. Progress. Even pride.
Younger goblins who once wandered aimlessly now trained with sticks and ropes, pretending to be adventurers. Older villagers shared maps and advice. Some planned parties after finishing their first five quests. Laughter became common again.
A quiet, gruff dwarf named Torun sat near the fireplace, carving the ranks into wood signs. "We're gonna need a lot more cards," he muttered. "They're all leveling up too fast."
From across the room, Lirae called out, "It's a good thing, Torun! Means we're surviving. Growing." freewёbnoνel.com
He grunted, but smiled behind his beard.
At sunset, Lari stood at the board once more, eyes on the next quest.
"Two greyfang wolves. Twenty coins."
She hesitated, then touched her card to the board to accept the quest. Her hand was steadier this time.
Behind her, Ruin stepped up, now wearing makeshift armor made by the dwarves. "Want to team up again?"
She smiled. "Sure. But only if you don't fall face-first into anything this time."
He laughed. "No promises."
As night crept in, torches lit the guild building. From above, the stars shimmered like silver ranks waiting to be reached.
And in the hearts of the villagers, a new dream was being born—not just to live, but to rise.
