Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 119: Ugly Festering Truths
Chapter 119: Ugly Festering Truths
As Ranon grabbed his wrist, Ghala felt a tremor of fear crawling up his spine. Being a panther shifter Ranon had tremendous strength. Besides, he was extremely loyal to Siroos; no matter what order was given, he would fulfil it without questioning his Alpha.
"Wait! Alpha, let me explain," Ghala begged, the voice quivering.
Siroos gestured for his beta to stop and Ranon dropped his wrist.
"Speak and only speak the truth or you know I can extract it from you." The fear was injected into his veins by Siroos’s cold words.
"You haven’t been keeping your promise and spending nights with your mate, considering how drastic the consequences will be. We didn’t want your reckless actions to doom the whole pack, so we decided to act," Ghala explained, fearfully watching Siroos’s calm facade. Deep inside he was anything but calm.
"What did you do to me?" Siroos asked, not at all surprised that they had felt the need to control his life again when he had made it abundantly clear that he would keep his oath.
"We took a mage’s help to have a potion prepared, which would make you see Kela as your mate so you could copulate with her and make her carry your seed. It would blind you against your Luna and she would appear only as another female for you. The scents were intermingled."
The blinding fury that whipped Siroos by his words wished for him to open his mouth and let the dragon burn the man right on the spot. His nails dug so deeply into his skin making half-red moons embed into it.
Most of the pack members shook their heads in anger. Rage-filled glances were thrown towards Kela and other Elders. People had fallen in love with their new Luna and her loving nature. She had been nothing but a ray of light for them. Her arrival had resulted in the prospering of their lands. These revelations painted a very negative image of the Elders, and that’s what Siroos wanted: to expose them for their lies.
"How long was this going to last?" Siroos asked, chaining his anger down and caging it for now. He would let it all out soon.
Ghala fidgeted while Ranon loomed over him like a death reaper.
"For a long time, at least till a child was born between you and Kela." More gasps followed but Siroos was not even surprised at this point.
"Bastards!" Faris muttered, grabbing Ara’s waist and pulling her closer to him. She wasn’t his mate, but she was kind and gentle and never failed to calm him down and he was losing his mind at this point.
They had decided to keep giving him the dose daily. Keeping his wolf in control and him under their thumb, turning him into a docile Alpha. The one they could easily control. But their plan backfired when Siroos’s wolf went feral because of the dose. The impact of mistaking Kela as his mate and betraying his own caused him immense distress.
It wasn’t only that, but his other spirits got affected as well and went silent inside of him, including the dragon. Being the strongest amongst the spirits and the most possessive one, the dragon surfaced, breaking all the barriers, and now it was wrathful learning what had transpired. To burn the people that had dared hurt his mate was insane and Siroos wasn’t sure how long he would be able to hold onto him. He had a mind of his own, and at times, he didn’t even listen to Siroos.
"Did she know about your plans and agree to it?" Siroos questioned next, not even sparing Kela a glance. Ghala fearfully nodded.
"She was made to drink a potion as well so she could smell like your mate."
An outrage followed Ghala’s words but Siroos continued, ignoring the rippling pain in his chest.
"Who bought the potion and from which mage? I need the names of everyone involved." Ghala’s legs shook as he began to blabber out how he had asked Walan to help him and he had been the one who went to bring the potion.
Haylia was shaking her head with every revelation. She hadn’t thought they would fall so low to hurt her son so deeply. She had extensively spoken to Ghala on the matter and asked him to drop the matter involving Alpha’s heir. That’s why, lately, she had been pushing her younger son to step up.
"How dare they?" She seethed out, knowing how much they had pushed Siroos over the edge.
Walan’s face had turned white as freshly fallen snow. Ghala had assured him their plan wouldn’t backfire and once Kela would get pregnant, Siroos would not dare harm her and accept their decision.
Siroos finally turned his attention towards Kela. "Ames, bring her forward." His command rang out and hit Kela right in the heart, she understood this was going to turn into a nightmare for her.
She quickly dropped to her knees and began to wail. Siroos remained unmoved, his heart contained nothing but hatred for this woman. He had taken care of her every need and in turn she wished to ruin him and his mate.
Ames dragged her forward and threw her on the ground near Siroos’s bare feet.
He Alpha Commanded her so she would speak the truth.
During the incident of snake biting Cassandra, Siroos had heard the snake was a different colour, he had given her the benefit of the doubt, but now he knew anything was possible as they had involved mages.
"Were you the one who bit Cassandra on her first day here?" Siroos knew Kela had a knack for potions. She used to spend quite an amount on the serums which would keep her youthful and beautiful.
Although Siroos had told her countless times that those were deceitful serums and she was wasting money, she never stopped. Knowing what had come to light that a mage was involved in the schemes of the Elders and how they used Kela as their puppet, he was sure it could have been her.
She slowly nodded her head with tears running down her cheeks, now words would tumble out of her mouth.
A fierce growl tore through Siroos’s lips at the confirmation, his chest tightened from the rage that coursed through his blood turning it into the literal fire.
More outrage followed her confession and Faris shook his head in anger. Ranon wished to separate her head from her shoulders.
"Why? You could have killed my mate and doomed the whole pack. Or was your jealousy above everything?" Siroos demanded, shaking from the rage, every vein in his arms and necks bulged out from the effort of keeping himself together.
"I drank the potion which hid my scent and changed the colour of my snake as well. The venom was toned down so it wouldn’t kill her as we knew Fownso had the anti-serum. Elder Walan wished to keep Cassandra afraid on these lands so she would be considered weak and not have a special place in your heart and the pack. She was to be just a necessity and I was to be your true Luna," Kela concluded, unveiling the final messed up truths, which completely shattered Siroos’s heart with a bang, the pieces embedded in his very flesh making him bleed.
How the people he had trusted, protected and given up his intimacy for had fucked him and his mate over.
"Bring Walan forward and put him on his knees," Siroos gave the next command as the hatred swirled in his eyes while two warriors dragged Walan forward and threw him near Kela.
He cast a dark hateful glance their way and thundered.
"It’s time to pay for your crimes."
