Rebirth Immortal-Chapter 49: The Fall of Zhao Tian
Chapter 49: The Fall of Zhao Tian
The sun had barely risen, yet the Zhao family estate was already buzzing with activity. Word of the assassination attempt on Zhao Ming had spread like wildfire. The elders were gathered in the grand hall, waiting for the report. Zhao Tian, despite his usual confidence, was silent. He sat at the far end of the room, his expression unreadable.
Zhao Ming entered with Ye Chen and Lin Xia, the trio walking with purpose. The air in the hall was thick with tension. The elders turned toward them as they entered, their eyes shifting between Zhao Ming and Ye Chen.
The head elder, a man with graying hair and sharp eyes, stood up first. "Zhao Ming, what has happened? We need to know who is behind this attack."
Zhao Ming straightened, his eyes burning with anger. He didn't waste any time. "I know who is behind it."
The room went silent. The elders leaned forward, eager for an answer.
Zhao Ming's gaze shifted to Zhao Tian. "It was my uncle, Zhao Tian. He ordered the assassination."
Gasps filled the room. The elders looked at each other, disbelief written on their faces.
Zhao Tian's face paled, but he quickly recovered. He stood up, his voice calm but strained. "What nonsense is this, Zhao Ming? You know I would never harm my own nephew."
Ye Chen stepped forward, his presence commanding. "We have proof."
Zhao Tian's eyes flickered with uncertainty, but he quickly masked his emotions. "Proof? You expect us to believe this without evidence?"
Zhao Ming's voice shook with rage as he spoke. "The assassins I fought last night—before they died, they admitted that it was Zhao Tian who ordered the attack."
The elders looked at Zhao Tian with suspicion. For a moment, no one spoke. Then, the head elder finally spoke, his voice cold. "Zhao Tian, explain yourself."
Zhao Tian took a deep breath. His face had regained some of its composure, but the anger simmered beneath the surface. "This is absurd. I have been loyal to this family for years. Why would I want Zhao Ming dead?"
Zhao Ming's eyes locked onto his uncle's. "You've wanted power for years. And with my death, you would gain control over the family."
Zhao Tian's lips curled into a smile, but there was no warmth in it. "You think I'm so desperate for power? I've never tried to harm you, nephew. This is a misunderstanding."
Ye Chen shook his head. "It's not a misunderstanding. The truth will come out soon enough. You can deny it all you want, but the evidence is clear."
The head elder's gaze hardened. "Zhao Tian, we cannot ignore these accusations. If you are guilty, we will have no choice but to take action."
Zhao Tian's face twisted with fury. "You think you can just throw me out? I've done more for this family than any of you ever have. Without me, this family would be nothing."
Zhao Ming stood tall. "Your time has come, Uncle. You've spent too long hiding your ambitions. Now everyone will know who you truly are."
Zhao Tian clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. "I don't need to take this from you, Zhao Ming."

Ye Chen's voice rang out like a whip. "Then you'll face the consequences. No one is above the law, especially not in this family."
Zhao Tian glared at Ye Chen. "You think you can just come here and tell me what to do? Who are you to—"
Before he could finish, the door to the hall burst open, and a servant rushed in, looking panicked. "Elder, the guards found something. It's... it's a message."
The room fell silent. The head elder nodded grimly. "Show it to us."
The servant handed over a piece of paper, and the head elder read it aloud. "This is a declaration of war from the Yan family. They've been in secret talks with Zhao Tian for months, plotting to take control of our family."
The room exploded with noise. The elders shouted, some accusing Zhao Tian of treason, others demanding explanations. Zhao Tian stood there, his face draining of color as the weight of the situation hit him.
"Quiet!" The head elder's voice rang out, cutting through the chaos. Everyone turned to him, their eyes wide. "Zhao Tian, is this true? Were you planning to betray us to the Yan family?"
Zhao Tian's silence spoke volumes. His eyes darted around the room, but he found no sympathy, only distrust and anger.
Zhao Ming stepped forward again, his voice steady. "I knew it. You were working with the Yan family all along. You thought you could take control by eliminating me and aligning with them. But you're too late. We already have the evidence."
Zhao Tian's eyes burned with hatred. "You think I'd risk everything for power? I've been loyal to this family for years. This is all a lie, a setup. You have no proof. None of you understand!"
The head elder shook his head. "The evidence is overwhelming, Zhao Tian. Your actions have been exposed. You've put the entire family at risk."
Zhao Tian turned to leave, his face twisted in anger. "You'll regret this. You all will."
The head elder called out. "Don't leave. You have no place to go now."
Zhao Tian turned slowly. "I'll be back. And when I am, you'll all pay the price."
With those words, he stormed out of the hall, leaving the elders in stunned silence.
The head elder sighed, rubbing his forehead. "This has gone too far. We must take action immediately."
Zhao Ming turned to Ye Chen, his expression serious. "We have to make sure Zhao Tian can't escape. He has to be dealt with before he destroys everything."
Ye Chen nodded. "I agree. But this won't be easy. Zhao Tian still has allies, and the Yan family is not to be underestimated."
Lin Xia stepped forward. "What should we do now?"
Ye Chen's gaze was cold. "We make sure Zhao Tian has nowhere to hide. We cut off his resources, expose him to the family, and make sure the Yan family knows they're involved. Once the family knows, it's only a matter of time before Zhao Tian falls."
Zhao Ming clenched his fists, determination in his eyes. "We'll take back what's ours."
The elders nodded in agreement, their faces hardening.
The storm was far from over. The Zhao family would not stand idly by while one of their own tried to tear it apart. But Zhao Tian's fall was inevitable now. He had made his enemies far too many, and there was no turning back.
As the day wore on, the walls of the Zhao family estate seemed to close in on Zhao Tian. He had no allies left, no safe haven. His betrayal had been exposed, and there was no escape.
Zhao Ming's words echoed in the back of his mind. You've spent too long hiding your ambitions. Now everyone will know who you truly are.
And there was no way to stop the truth from coming out.
