Reawakening: SSS-Rank Villain's POV-Chapter 34: Testing The Talent!
Chapter 34: Testing The Talent!
Within the cyberspace everyone was both excited and panicking. Every powerhouse, guild, academy, commerce, alliance and even those from House of Dark matter were struggling to pull resources together to purchase such legendary item.
It had been almost a decade since an item with such grade had been put up for auction and they were truly sweating.
The auction usually lasts about 3 days. It was enough time for Lucian to fill the Celestial Amulet, find the unregistered portal entry and enter the second floor of the Galactic Tower.
...
Even without the use of blood, it was stated that the meditation technique would still improve his mana restoration speed.
Therefore it took him half a day till he was ready.
...
"It's finally time."
Lucian opened the map and after looking at hut for a while, he figured the general direction of the unregistered portal. It was about 3 kilometers outside of the town, the wilderness.
The wilderness was almost as dangerous as the first floor of the Galactic tower, if not even more dangerous. They are countless mutated beasts, corrupted beings that are more like supernatural beings, or even mutated humans.
The wilderness was filled with dangers and also opportunities. Those who are scared to enter the Galactic Tower or didn't awaken any Takent could hunt in the wilderness and if they're being careful, they could change their fate in a single moment of luck.
After figuring out the general location, Lucian marked it in his holowatch and then exited the Hotel, he was getting and flagged down a car. "Go to the junction towards the Monster Dispatch Site."
The driver shot him a curious look, but when Lucian got into the car, he kept his gaze lowered and lips sealed, saying nothing. So, the driver kept quiet, driving silently to the destination.
Because of space rifts, the areas outside the colony were treacherous. But they needed people to go out there to hunt, kill, and protect the settlement, which was why the wilderness' dispatch site was set up.
After an hour, the man stopped and Lucian paid him with credits and turned towards the wilderness where he saw a massive and armored buss with spikes all over.
Lucian stepped into the vehicle, and the melodious voice of a woman looped over the loudspeaker.
"This field trip will go through Baylor ruins, Trenches roots, Ghost bay and Antropid colony.

"All fighters, please take note that after killing mutated beasts in the Monster dispatch site, you may take any part of the corpses as proof for an exchange in credit ls. The targets are herbivorous giant bats, red-eyed hyenas, man-eating trees, ratmen..."
The automated voice repeating itself above Lucian, making him frown. His ears were simply too sharp making him hear the sounds very loudly. With a slight grunt, he rolled a pieces of clothing and covered his ears with it.
The wild was dangerous not just because spatial rifts could appear anytime.
To protect the safety of the people, the Human Alliance Federation set up Monster Dispatch sites everywhere to offer rewards in an attempt to encourage more people to join the operation.
More than twenty passengers were on the vehicle, where not a single one came alone, but because they did not know Lucian, they thought that he belonged to another team and paid little attention to the newcomer.
They paused at each stop, where some got off, and others got on. When they arrived at Baylor ruins, Lucian moved to stand by the door, hoping to attract as little attention as he could. Another group of people got up as well.
It was not apparent in the vehicle, but when the moment they stepped off the car, Lucian stood out like a sore thumb.
"Why are you alone? This place is too dangerous! Why don't you come with us?" A soft voice from the five-girl group chirped when she saw that he was on his own.
"Daisy!" One of the girls from her team quickly cut in, eyeing Lucian cautiously. "This person chose to come out here alone. Chances are he can handle himself pretty well. He may not want to join us!"
The girl named Daisy, as Lucian had found out, retorted, "That is exactly why I invited him!"
"Daisy, you don't even know if he's skillful or not. What if he holds us back?!" Another guy said, echoing the firsts' opinion.
"But..." Daisy clearly did not agree with her teammates.
"Forget it, Daisy. That dude's a goner!" Another girl tugged Daisy by the wrist. "People won't care for your kindness!"
It was only then that the group realized that while they were busy arguing, Lucian was already 20 meters ahead of them, hastily disappearing into the giant reed marshes.
His quiet scuttle ticked the group off.
Now, why was the person like that?!
...
Lucian did not know what they were thinking, nor did he have the habit of making conversation with strangers. Every once in a while, the people in the wilderness were way scarier than those monsters. Lucian felt that he was still too inadequate to mingle with the others around here.
Moreover, he was in no mood to allow anyone to know about this thing that he needed to do.
He stealthily trampled his way through the reeds until he reached the center, careful to make no sound. The edges were both sharp but soft at the same time, meaning they could be pushed aside, but they could also cut.
Fortunately, Lucian's skin physique was just too thick for even a knife to cut through without the appropriate force.
Standing inside the reed marsh was like being in a bamboo forest. Like a double-edged sword, the foliage provided him good cover but, at the same time, prevented him from seeing approaching danger!
"Squeak!"
Lucian turned his head sharply towards the direction of the soft squeaking sound, eyes squinting.
That very moment, a grey apparition shot out from among the giant reeds like a rocket.
Lucian remained still as though stunned.
But as the grey figure arrived before him, its sharp claws stabbed straight for Lucian's heart.
"Ding!"
Sparks flew off like fireworks as the sound of metal colliding against an extremely thick crystal resounded like the beat of a gong.
