One Piece: Capitalist Brook's Crew Expansion Plan-Chapter 43: Occupying Skypiea
Chapter 43 - 43: Occupying Skypiea
A massive bird soared from the distance, carrying a lean yet formidable knight clad in silver armor.
"Blue Sea dwellers! You must be pirates! How dare you invade the divine land? I advise you to leave at once, or my divine army will purge you!"
Hovering mid-air, Gan Fall issued his warning to Brook and his crew, gripping his heat-dial-powered lance as it began glowing red-hot, radiating waves of heat.
"Let's have a fight first. That should settle things."
Brook grinned at the so-called god of this land, his chilling aura growing even more sinister.
'Netherworld Aura: Death's Intimidation'
A suffocating wave of deathly energy swept across the Skypieans present. Having never experienced true winter, they suddenly felt a soul-piercing cold, as though their very breath had frozen over. The weaker ones collapsed in fright.
Even Gan Fall's massive bird trembled in terror, momentarily forgetting to flap its wings, sending both itself and its rider plummeting downward.
"W-What is this?!"
Gan Fall's heart pounded with fear as he stared at Brook. His 'Mantra'—his ability to sense emotions—could not detect anything from the swordsman.
Brook stepped forward leisurely. Gan Fall fought to suppress his terror, thrusting his heat-dial lance toward him in desperation.
In an instant, Gan Fall's lance was severed into two clean halves. His eyes widened in shock. He hadn't even seen Brook move, and his Mantra had been utterly useless.
What... what kind of demon is this man?!
"Captain Brook, this so-called god is nothing but a joke. He doesn't deserve the title."
Redfield scoffed, glancing at Gan Fall with disdain. Such weaklings no longer piqued his interest.
Brook fixed his ghostly blue eyes on the fallen knight.
"Think carefully, 'God.' Submit to our rule. We did not come for slaughter, only to establish our presence here.
"If you surrender, you may remain the ruler of this land—save for the title of 'God.' We will also resolve your conflict with the Shandians."
His tone was icy, his stare absolute. The message was clear—refuse, and death would be the only outcome.
"You villains, leave at once!"
A young boy suddenly charged forward with a knight's lance, showing no hint of fear.
"Fore, run! Don't come any closer!"
Gan Fall cried out desperately, but it was too late. In a flash, Brook's Shichiseiken flickered, and the boy's lance was reduced to splintered fragments, leaving only its handle.
With another flick, Brook's sword emitted a cold blast, freezing Gan Fall's feet to the ground, immobilizing him.
"Fore!!"
Brook strode forward and placed a single bony finger against the boy's lips. Ice spread instantly, sealing his mouth shut.
"Adults are talking. Children should stay silent."
"No, Fore! Don't kill him! I surrender! I will abdicate! Just please... spare him!"
Tears welled in Gan Fall's eyes as he pleaded. The Berets—his loyal guards—watched in horror. Their all-powerful god, their protector, was being humiliated by these outsiders.
Brook raised his sword once more. With a single slash, a massive sword wave cut a thousand-meter-long scar into the heart of Lovely Street. The entire town froze, gazes locked on the enormous wound left in the ground.
"As long as you obey, I won't need to do that to you."
Brook glanced at the stunned Skypieans and gave a satisfied nod.
...
Guided by Gan Fall, Brook and his crew stepped into the golden palace of Upper Yard's 'God's Shrine.' Shakky ran her hands along the extravagant golden walls in amazement.
"It's real gold. All of it."
Brook took a seat on the throne while Gan Fall and his priests stood below, awaiting their judgment. Resistance was futile—the invaders were too powerful.
"We have no intention of senseless slaughter. Go about your lives as usual. In a few days, more Blue Sea dwellers will arrive. Your only duty is to help them settle in."
Brook gave his orders, then turned to Redfield.
"Take a priest and go subjugate the Shandian tribe."
Gan Fall immediately assigned four priests to assist. Silva followed after them.
"Now, I need all available warriors to gather the gold from these pillars."
Brook pointed at the golden columns. Gan Fall swiftly issued orders, and his soldiers began dismantling the golden architecture. Shakky and Antonio joined in, while Brook—still wary—sent Qirin Lion to guard them.
"Lastly, I need information. South of here, there's a Sky Island called Birka. Find me a way to reach it."
Brook had not forgotten about the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. It had been missing from the seas for years, meaning it had already been reborn long ago. The most likely place was Birka—the birthplace of Enel, the self-proclaimed God of Skypiea.
"Understood, Lord Brook!" Gan Fall hastily dispatched men to investigate.
"And another thing—does Skypiea have shipbuilding technology for flying vessels? Any blueprints or ancient ruins?"
Gan Fall shook his head. "Not that I know of. Upper Yard was launched into the sky over three hundred years ago. I've never heard of any flying ship technology. Even Angel Island has none."
Brook frowned. Right, Upper Yard was once part of Jaya—there was no reason for Skypieans to have flying ship technology. That meant Enel must have brought the blueprints and knowledge of the Ark Maxim himself.
So, Birka was not an ordinary island after all. Not only did it hold the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, but also the secrets to shipbuilding technology.

"Alright, just keep running Skypiea as usual. One last thing—bring me samples of every type of Sky Shell."
Gan Fall arranged for the delivery of various Dials. Crocus and Tom the Fishman eagerly began examining the peculiar Sky Island technology.
Meanwhile, Brook scaled the colossal beanstalk leading to the golden city of Shandora. There, he laid eyes upon the massive Golden Bell.
If only a Gold-Gold Fruit user were here, this would be a dream come true.
He couldn't decipher the ancient text inscribed on the bell, but he understood the general meaning—Poseidon, the Sea King, would appear on Fishman Island. But why was such crucial information recorded here, centuries ago, on Jaya?
Could it be that Jaya, centuries ago, was a powerful kingdom playing a pivotal role in history? How else could it have constructed the grand, golden city of Shandora, remaining unpillaged for centuries?
Three hundred years ago, it was launched into the sky, becoming legend. But what was its true significance, eight hundred years ago, during the Void Century?
