New World with Four Husbands-Chapter 555: Hugs, kisses, and comfort [4]
In the end, Coco wrapped her arms around Kairo and hugged him.
The other four mediators surrounding her were adamant on making her hug the purple eyed mediator who looked as flabbergasted as her.
What’s happening? Coco thought, narrowing her eyes at the smiling faces of her husbands.
The four of them looked quite proud of themselves even though she’s sure that they didn’t do anything to be proud of.
"Uhm.. Err, Co— Coco? You can let go of me now." Kairo stammered out, his cheeks warm with shame and embarrassment as he tried to not press his face on Coco’s neck.
He is currently sitting on Coco’s lap, as per Heiren’s order, and has his arms around Coco’s torso with his face right in front of Coco’s neck, her skin looking quite delectable for his eyes.
Not to mention, there was this certain scent that made her alluring.
The position was awkward, but Kairo didn’t want to move because he might end up doing something that he might regret later on.
Kairo’s throat bobbed up and down as he swallowed his saliva. Why did it feel like he was drooling just by seeing Coco’s exposed and vulnerable neck?
I’m acting and thinking like an animal right now, am I not? Kairo thought, his face becoming warmer at the image of him getting hot and bothered by merely seeing Coco’s skin.
He’s in a predicament.
Not only is he sitting on Coco’s lap, her scent is seriously tempting him to shift on his spot.
"Are you okay, Kairo?"
The question and the call of his name snapped Kairo out of his thoughts, making him flinch slightly and whip his head to where the voice came from.
"Y-Yes." Came a stammering response, Kairo’s tongue getting caught between his teeth. "Don’t worry, Zaque. I’m really fine— totally fine, completely fine."
The red haired mediator couldn’t help, but arch an eyebrow at Kairo’s response. "Are you sure? You don’t sound like it."
"I’m really fine!" Kairo squeaked out, his voice uncharacteristically high-pitched as he insisted that he was fine. "Don’t worry, okay? I’m completely fine!"
"Zaque’s right, you don’t sound like you’re fine." Coco chimed in, making Kairo freeze.
Answering and insisting that he was fine to Zaque is good, but to Coco? He’s not entirely sure he will be able to think straight and come out with a proper response if it’s Coco.
To make matters worse for Kairo, Coco raised one arm and pressed the back of her palm on his forehead.
The action forced the mediator to shift his eyes back to Coco’s face, causing him to see how close he actually is to her now that he’s paying attention to her.
"Goodness, your forehead is hot." Coco said with a worried gasp.
"He is?" Heiren interjected, reaching a hand out to touch Kairo’s forehead as well. "Oh, shoot, Coco’s right. His face is really hot."
"Is he sick?" Alhai asked from his spot on the foot of the bed.
"He seemed fine earlier." Quizen said, cutting through the voices of his friends to let them know what his opinion is about the matter.
"Maybe because his clothes aren’t covering him enough?" Coco suggested, her eyes drifting down to Kairo’s slightly exposed chest— the robe he’s wearing barely holding onto his shoulders.
"Should I grab something from my closet?" Heiren inquired, tilting his head. "His size seemed close to mine."
"That would be great." Coco agreed, nodding her head and looking away from Kairo.
Being the center of attention was too much for Kairo’s heart, and the fact that Coco’s openly showing her worries about his well-being when she’s in the presence of her husbands is concerning.
What if they start to back me on a corner and tell me to leave Coco be? Kairo thought, the color of his face draining.
What if they start looking for a fight and team up against me? That’s not impossible, right? I have watched some drama where the mediators get into a fight for the person they love.. There’s a high chance that it will happen, right? I’m not overthinking it, right?
Kairo’s thoughts were in jumbles of words and scenarios— unaware of the discussion that’s taking place.
"Maybe we should let Kairo go back to his room for now?" Zaque suggested, his eyebrows furrowing in worry as he stared at the purple eyed mediator’s face that seemed a little too pale than usual.
"I think we pushed it too far tonight." Heiren stated, agreeing with Zaque’s words.
"I think not." Quizen mumbled, his eyes settling on the back of Kairo’s head. "For all we know, he’s probably stressing out about the fact that he’s sitting on Coco and was hugging her."
"How would you know?" Alhai grumbled, his voice dripping with reluctance.
"Because I would." Quizen said with a matter of fact tone, shrugging his shoulders like he didn’t just say that he would freak out if he was in Kairo’s place right now.
"You’re a dork." Alhai chuckled, shaking his head.
"Yeah, you’re such a dork." Coco agreed, the corner of her lips quirking up into a smile. "You’re my dork though."
Quizen’s face quickly became red, his cheeks warm and incredibly hot.
"How about me?" Alhai chimed, eyebrows creasing together. "I became your dork first, didn’t I? Why didn’t you call me yours?"
"You’re being childish." Zaque murmured, shooting a glare at the third husband’s way.
"I agree." Heiren stated bluntly, narrowing his eyes at Alhai. "You’re being childish when you were the first person who warmed Coco’s bed—"
"Guys!" Coco exclaimed, cutting through the conversation and alarming everyone, including Kairo, at how loud her voice was. "Don’t you think this topic is inappropriate to have when we have Kairo sitting right in front me?"
"Topic?" Kairo echoed, blinking owlishly. "What was the topic just now?"
The mediators froze in their spots and looked at Kairo like he had grown four limbs, but after a good second, Heiren snorted and laughed.
"We’re talking about Alhai warming Coco’s bed—"
