Chapter 554: Hugs, kisses, and comfort [3]

"The two of you took your time, huh?" Alhai grumbled, glaring at Heiren and Kairo.

The two mediators stopped in their tracks, but Kairo took it upon himself to close the door behind them before focusing his attention on Alhai who looked quite displeased for some reason.

"What’s your problem now?" Heiren asked, arching an eyebrow at the silver haired mediator’s way.

"Tsk, the four of you are lucky." Alhai said with a click of his tongue before mumbling more words that were incoherent under his breath.

Heiren’s forehead creased, his eyebrows furrowing as a flicker of annoyance crossed his eyes. "Seriously? What’s your problem, Alhai? Why are you picking a fight right now?"

However, instead of Alhai answering, it was Coco.

"Him and Zaque had a disagreement." Coco stated with a small smile, her hand still caressing Quizen’s head. "So as a punishment, I told him that he can’t do anything with me tonight."

"Anything?" Heiren repeated, tilting his head. "As in.. Not even a hug? Nothing?"

Coco nodded. "Nothing."

An undignified snort came out of Heiren’s throat. "Serves him right. He was getting ahead of himself and needed to be put back to his place anyway."

The words were meant to annoy Alhai, but it wasn’t loud enough for the others to hear and only Kairo, since he was literally standing right beside him, was able to hear them.

Kairo’s eyes went wide for a split second, shock and amusement dancing in his purple irises.

He wasn’t expecting the nurturing and kind second caretaker of the household to have a petty side such as this.

"Anyway." Heiren spoke up and resumed his walk towards Coco’s bed. "What happened to Quizen? Why is he sleeping already? Was he on the receiving end of Zaque’s and Alhai’s disagreement earlier?"

Kairo trailed behind Heiren, not trusting anyone beside him and Coco inside the room at the moment.

"He’s fine, I think?" Coco answered, her eyes drifting down to take a look at the mediator’s state. "Are you okay, Quizen? Have you fallen asleep already?"

Quizen shook his head and simply buried his face in Coco’s thighs.

"He’s fine." Coco repeated, smiling.

Heiren let a sigh through his nose and returned Coco’s smile. "That’s a relief.. Kind of. I was hoping that I could take his place and lay my head on your lap as well."

"You can do that tomorrow." Coco hummed out, shifting in her spot. "Quizen, can you move for a second? My legs are starting to become numb."

The fourth husband didn’t hesitate to roll over to his back and get off Coco’s lap, his face looking quite blissful and dumb due to how he looked like he was out of his right state of mind.

"Are you sure that he’s okay?" Kairo asked, his eyebrows furrowing. "He doesn’t seem like it.."

"He’s fine." Alhai grunted out, his face scrunching up into a scowl as he turned his back on all of them, but was still sitting on the foot of Coco’s bed. "He’s just happy to be on our wife’s lap."

Kairo blinked owlishly and nodded his head, reluctance evident on his face. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"If you say so.." The purple eyed mediator mumbled, not wanting to push Alhai’s buttons further when it already seemed like he was on the verge of strangling someone.

"I had my turn." The fourth husband mumbled, smiling to himself as he stared at the ceiling. "Someone else can take my spot for now."

"Your spot— since when did Coco’s thighs become your spot, Quizen?" Zaque asked, his face contorting into disgust at the sheer audacity to claim Coco’s thighs as his.

"Alright, that’s enough!" Heiren chimed in and laughed awkwardly. "Kairo, why don’t you lay on Coco for now?"

Coco and Kairo froze at Heiren’s suggestion, both of them staring at the brown haired mediator like he had grown two more heads at how scandalous his suggestion sounded.

Kairo? Laying down on Coco’s lap? Why?

"Why should he?" Coco blurted out, her eyebrows furrowing as she looked at Heiren, hoping to get an answer.

"Well, why shouldn’t he?" Alhai was the one who answered, turning his head to look at Coco.

"Yeah, why shouldn’t he?" Zaque asked with a raise of an eyebrow. "I believe that Kairo did something to deserve it, no?"

"What?" Coco blinked, feeling ridiculously flabbergasted.

"It’s okay, you four." Kairo spoke up and slowly took a step back from the bed. "That kind of interaction with Coco is reserved for her husbands only which refers to the four of you."

"Exactly!" Coco agreed wholeheartedly.

However, before Kairo could completely walk away from the bed, Zaque’s hand shot out and grabbed Kairo’s wrist.

The red haired mediator tugged Kairo towards the bed and Quizen’s hand wrapped around Kairo’s other wrist, pulling him on top of the bed which resulted in him plopping beside Quizen.

"Be careful!" Coco yelped, spreading her legs just in time for Kairo’s head face to plant on the mattress.

If she didn’t move her legs, Kairo would have a broken nose, busted lips, or an aching face by now because he would have landed directly on her kneecaps.

Just thinking about it made Coco shiver.

Unbeknownst to Coco, the four husbands were looking directly at the back of Kairo’s head.

They need to make him and her feel comfortable with each other as much as possible before she falls asleep— if not, how would they be able to convince Coco to marry Kairo?

"Are you okay, Kairo?" Coco asked, her voice dripping with worry. "Quizen, that wasn’t nice of you."

The blue haired mediator puffed his cheeks out and leaned his head on his palm, lifting himself up using his elbow. "He’s fine though, is he not? He’s not some fragile being, Coco."

Coco glared at him. "That’s not the point."

"Alright, alright, break it off." Heiren sighed out and crawled on the bed, making his way over to Coco’s left side. "Just let Kairo have his turn for now."

"But why?" Coco mumbled.
