Chapter 237: A conversation with Lulu

Bang!

The door slammed shut behind Coco with a bang, sound of the door closing echoing through the hallway and the force of the motion shaking the door on its hinges, causing some of the dust gathered on the wooden surface to drift into the air.

She had closed the door hard, her frustration and anger evident in the rough movement of her hand.

The black haired woman stood in the doorway for a moment, her breathing laboured as she took a moment to collect herself, her entire body tensed and alert.

She took a deep breath, her mind racing as she leaned against the door, her back pressed against the cold wood.

The garden fairy swallowed her saliva nervously as she flew over to the bed and plopping herself behind the pillow, her red sparkling irises glued to her human friend.

The room was dim, the only light filtering in through cracks in the drawn curtains, but it was enough to make the fairy see her friend clearly.

Coco let out a couple of deep breaths, her chest heaving up and down, then she walked over to her bed and plopped down on the soft covers— the bed creaked under her weight as the matters dipped down.

"Okay." Coco spoke up and ran a hand through her hair before she looked at Lala, "How can I talk to Lulu?"

Lala blinked, poking her head out of the back of the pillow and tilted her head. "Why do you need to talk to Lulu? Did she say something upsetting in the scroll earlier?"

The garden fairy saw the scroll appeared before Coco, but it can’t be a quest, right—

"Yes." Coco grumbled with furrowed eyebrows, "She gave me a main quest about rescuing Alithe’s pair, then she gave me Zaque’s second quest while we were in the hallway. Who wouldn’t be upset with that?"

"She what?!" Lala sprung up from the pillow with her wings flapping wildly behind her, "Two quests in an hour?! How could she?!"

Almost immediately, a white scroll appeared before Coco, unrolling itself and revealing the contents to her.

[ Tell my sister that she shouldn’t yell like that. ]

The first sentence was written in cursive, but was in the color of red ink and it made Coco raise an eyebrow.

[ Brother Kiki will hear her and will know that something was wrong with you or her. We can’t have that, can we? I only gave you the quests under an hour to make your journey to the main city much easier. ]

"Lulu said that you shouldn’t yell." Coco informed Lala and shot a glance at the garden fairy’s direction, "Kiki will hear you if you keep yelling and we don’t want that, right?"

Lala gasped out of shock, her eyes wide in fright as she raised her hands to cover her mouth.

"Anyway, how come Lulu responded faster this time? It took her a while to respond last time." Coco asked out loud, her gaze glued to white scroll.

A quill appeared into thin air, making Coco flinch in her seat and her eyes go wide.

[ I’m sitting at my desk when I heard Lala’s screams coming from the intercom. The screams of a garden fairy can be louder than an animal fairy so they tend to have a higher pitch for a voice. ]

"Garden fairies have louder volumes than animal fairies?" Coco turned to Lala as she asked the question, her eyebrow raised in curiosity, "And I’m guessing that anime fairies take care of animals?"

Coco knows that the name of the fairies are pretty much self explanatory, but there’s nothing wrong with confirming, right?

Lala pulled her hands away from her mount and nodded her head. "I’m louder than a normal garden fairy because I’m related to Brother Kiki.. And yes, animal fairies take care of animals."

[ Brother Kiki is a sound fairy so he can hear her screams from a distance. Fortunately, my cubicle is right at the farthest side of the beanstalk. ]

"What does Lulu mean by farthest side of the beanstalk? It’s not an actual beanstalk, isn’t it?" Coco’s eyebrows are furrowed out of disbelief.

"A beanstalk is a beanstalk." Lala answered, smiling softly and innocently.

Coco let out a sigh and shook her head. "Okay, whatever.. Anyway, the quest about Alithe. Why do I have to fight off farming rabbits when they’re more dangerous than the monsters I hunted so far?"

[ The farming rabbits in this world are far less dangerous and clever than the farming rabbits in the third world so they’re not strong. There’s no need to fret. All you have to do is take their youngest offspring and they will follow every command you will spout. ]

"Third world?" Coco raised an eyebrow.

[ Ersthan is the name of the world you’re in, the fifth world or the youngest "dimension" of all five dimensions. The elder fairies call these dimensions "world" because it names wasn’t a thing back then. ]

"Wait.. So, Ersthan is the name of this world or dimension.. And it’s also the youngest.. Does this mean that they’re still other things in this world that you fairies don’t know about?" Coco asked, staring at the scroll with calculating eyes.

Almost immediately, the quill started scratching against the surface of the scroll.

[ You are correct. It is also the reason why I asked you to stay there with Lala to explore the world. It was because I could see what was happening around you. ]

"You’re spying on me?" Coco straightened her posture and narrowed her eyes towards the scroll.

[ More like monitoring. ]

Lulu corrected Coco’s words with a single scribble of the quill, the sound of the sharp tip scratching against the paper reaching Coco’s ears.

[ It’s not like I have a choice. Lala transferred your soul and that’s forbidden so I have to monitor you for the next two hundred years while not allowing Lala to go back here as a punishment. ]

"I didn’t want to say anything about this, but.."
