My Scales Can Make Equivalent Exchange-Chapter 45 - Xiang Feifei
Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Xiang Feifei
Chapter 45 -45: Xiang Feifei
“No worries, Xiang Ji had anticipated that there’s no adult at your home, so he had prepared in advance for you.” As he spoke, he handed over an exquisite jade card to Wang Zijia.
The sourc𝗲 of this content is freēwēbηovel.c૦m.
Wang Zijia took the card, baffled. It was the size of the red envelope used for Chinese New Year, made of heavenly jade, with a smidge of vermilion, and the birth date and time of the original owner flashed with spiritual light on it.
What thorough preparation!
“Sign your name, then exchange the Geng Tie with Fei Fei!” Xiang Liang advised.
“Uh… Brother, isn’t this a bit hasty?” Wang Zijia looked at the Geng Tie in front of him, still prepared by the other party, and felt puzzled.
“I’m not your Brother; you should call me Sixth Great Uncle!” Xiang Liang said with a broad smile. “As for being rash, we cultivators don’t pay much attention to that. After all, this is not a marriage. Besides, your family no longer has any adults.”
Wang Zijia: “…”
“Hurry up, the final beginner selection is about to finish. Don’t be late for the personnel allocation!” said Xiang Liang.
“Ah, okay!” Wang Zijia snapped out of his daze, completed the Geng Tie in a state of utter confusion, then exchanged it with Xiang Feifei, who had been eyeing him all along.
Thus, the first engagement in two lifetimes for Wang Zijia was completed in a casual and utterly random manner.
Throughout the whole process, Wang Zijia was left puzzled, while Xiang Feifei kept a total poker face – no matter how striking Wang Zijia’s talent was, she remained unaffected.
It wasn’t that she looked down upon this little chubby Wang Zijia, but that as the pampered daughter of heaven in the clan, she found it difficult to accept having secured a husband out of the blue. Especially as she still dreamed of her Prince Charming one day descending from the sky on a rainbow with a white horse.
She didn’t resist or cause a fuss, only accepted the situation with indifference, which showed how obedient and sensible she was.
“Good!” Of all seven people present, only Xiang Liang was pleased to see matters settled. He declared, “Since all the preparations are ready, let’s go.”
With that said, he stepped onto a cloud in the courtyard, then remembered the three girls obediently standing on the cloud, and said, “By the way, you can have two attendants when you directly enter the Outer Sect. Xiang Ji said that since you only have a little maid, he selected another one from the clan for you. After all, the quota for disciples doing miscellaneous duties in the Sect should not go to waste.”
“Of course, if you’re not satisfied or have your own people in mind, just say it. It’s just a position for doing miscellaneous duties, after all.”
“I, uh…I only have one maid. Whatever Sixth Great Uncle has arranged will be fine,” Wang Zijia said, not quite used to the new form of address.
“Alright, hurry up and get on!” Xiang Liang urged.
Wang Zijia, along with Bai Qian, stepped onto the cloud-like magic tool, with a floating sensation.
It felt very soft, but the texture was hard, and there was no case of body sinking, as if stepping on a woolen carpet. It felt good.
Once everyone was ready, with the fluctuation of Xiang Liang’s magic power, the cloud slowly started to take off, flying at a not-too-fast speed towards the Sect.
It was not very fast, a tad slower than a helicopter, but definitely faster than running.
Wang Zijia stared at it with a curious expression.
Xiang Liang quietly glanced at Xiang Feifei, who paused before spontaneously explaining, “This is a low-level magic tool [Climbing Clouds]. When promoted to the Inner Sect, some disciples can get this standardized magical tool. It’s second-grade low-level.”
“The one used by our Sixth Great Uncle is a reward when our Second Ancestor entered the Inner Sect. It’s been passed down generation by generation within the clan, continuously refined and sacrificed. It’s already close to being a second-grade intermediate magical tool.”
The first-grade tools are called Magic Soldiers, the second-grade ones are known as Magic Tools, the third one is a Spiritual Tool, and the fourth one, that’s a Magic Treasure.
Upon hearing this, Wang Zijia tilted his attention and said, “Climbing Clouds? What a strange name.”
“Uh, I’m not really sure about that. I heard that this magic tool was made by mimicking the effect of a second-grade high-level magic door called Climbing Clouds Technique or something,” Xiang Feifei replied.
“Climbing Clouds Technique? What a weird name,” Wang Zijia muttered.
Probably sensing that Xiang Feifei was willing to converse, Wang Zijia also started to actively chat and find topics.
Mostly, Wang Zijia asked and Xiang Feifei answered, mainly about the Sect’s situation
And so it went, with the two of them chit-chatting intermittently and gradually growing familiar with each other. Xiang Liang up ahead, seeing this conversation unfold, had a beaming smile on his face.
How could their Xiang family possibly let such a talent, who lived alone, slip away? It didn’t matter if he married into their family or not, as long as he was connected to their lineage.
…
The Sect was not far from Wanyu City, or rather, Wanyu City was within the Sect, just at the edge that bordered the outside world.
In a moment, they entered the Sect’s territory. From the cloud, they could see the boundless Sect buildings due to the altitude.
Wanyu Sect covered a vast area, much bigger than the capital city of his previous life – several times, even a dozen times bigger.
What startled Wang Zijia was that Wanyu Sect didn’t quite match his imagination of an immortal family Sect. It wasn’t like he had thought- set amidst lofty mountains, where various Taoist fields were scattered among the mountain ranges.
Wanyu Sect primarily had three types of geography- plains, hills, and mountains. Among these terrains, there weren’t densely packed buildings one after the other.
Instead, there were clusters of buildings scattered like stars in a chess board. Each cluster was centered around odd-shaped structures, forming a strange structure similar to an agglomeration of settlements.
It looked like countless densely packed town building groups, seemingly close yet distinct from each other. This was entirely different from what he had imagined.
“How is it?” Seeing Wang Zijia gazing in a daze at the sect below, Xiang Feifei asked.
“Uh, the Sect is a bit different from what I thought.” Wang Zijia clarified, “Very different!”
“What did you imagine the Sect would look like?” Xiang Feifei curiously asked.
“Uh, lush mountains, gurgling spring waters, leisurely clouds, dancing immortal cranes, and disciples practicing immortal laws among various Taoist fields?” Wang Zijia replied uncertainly. “In any case, it’s not like this, with a town building group every few steps.”
“Pff…” For the first time, Xiang Feifei let out a chuckle, saying, “You’ve read too many ancient chronicles, haven’t you?”
Wang Zijia: “…”
Should he say that it was because of those chronicles that he had such thoughts?
“Do you know why our Wanyu Sect is named that way?” Rather than providing an immediate explanation, Xiang Feifei posed a new question.
Wang Zijia shook his head.
Xiang Feifei explained, “Our Sect was indeed as you described, very long ago. But since the great changes in heaven and earth, causing Taoist laws to become difficult to pass on, all the major Sects in the world started seeking change.”
“And our Wanyu Sect, the ‘Wanyu’ in our name now, refers to the myriad Taoist lineages within our Sect…well, now we prefer to call them Schools or Study Groups.”
“Taoist lineages?” Wang Zijia looked utterly bewildered.
