My Perfect Female CEO-Chapter 1044: A Spittle-Flying Battle
Ye Fan, Mengyao, and Zhang Lu entered the club, found a private room next door to Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang and went inside.
Mengyao looked at Ye Fan and said, "You go, my grandpa and Zhang Lu’s dad are in the next room, you should head over."
Saying that, Mengyao pointed at the wall, and in the room on the other side were Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang.
"Exactly," Zhang Lu said with a laugh.
"You two ordered food and drinks and are using me as a shield, isn’t that bad?" Ye Fan looked at Mengyao and seriously said, "This cunning idea of yours isn’t great."
"Is it bad?" Mengyao moved her sympathetic gaze from Ye Fan and looked at Zhang Lu for her opinion.
"It’s great, really great." Zhang Lu agreed.
Mengyao and Zhang Lu were in cahoots, selling Ye Fan out.
After all, the two girls were facing elders, so they were also nervous and could only push Ye Fan out.
"Look, we both think it’s good, two against one, just grit your teeth and do this one time, okay?" Mengyao said patiently.
Despite Ye Fan’s bold words, he had his own hesitations. If Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang started an unreasonable argument, he couldn’t intervene or even calm them down.
Ye Fan stepped out of the private room, closing the door behind him.
"Guess how Ye Fan will resolve the dispute between my dad and your grandpa?" Zhang Lu asked curiously.
"I don’t know, it’s a shame we can’t eavesdrop, otherwise I’d really like to hear it," Mengyao said regretfully.
"Do you think Ye Fan will get physical?" Zhang Lu worried.
"Definitely not," Mengyao assured.
The two girls chatted intermittently, speculating with interest on how Ye Fan could resolve the dispute between Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang.
Truth be told, they really couldn’t intervene in the elders’ dispute and didn’t dare speak out against them, so hiding seemed the best option.
Ye Fan stood outside the private room of Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang, able to clearly hear their argument.
"Chu Erzhu, I’m warning you, when Ye Fan stayed with my daughter at our house, they were living together, that’s a fact, even if you deny it, it can’t be changed. They’ve done everything that should and shouldn’t be done, why should your granddaughter get engaged to Ye Fan? It’s simply stealing someone else’s fiancé, destroying a family, it’s disgraceful." This was Zhang Jiefang’s roaring voice.
Zhang Jiefang was usually busy with work and rarely managed family matters. But when he accidentally learned about Ye Fan and Mengyao’s engagement, he was furious and approached Chu Erzhu to argue, leading to a quarrel.
Of course, both had their points; neither would back down in their endless bickering.
The final result of their argument was to bring the concerned parties together and have a proper ’face-to-face confrontation’.
Thus, they had the unexpected encounter of Ye Fan and Mengyao with Zhang Lu.
"Shameless talk, couldn’t you have a bit of dignity? What do you mean by having done everything? Such filthy thoughts, just living together means having done something? What are you thinking? Even stubbornness has limits. I’m a decade older than you but I’m not as stubborn. Your mind is stuck in the previous century, you know?" Chu Erzhu stood his ground.
He slapped the table and shouted, "My granddaughter has been with Ye Fan far longer, when the two girls met, your daughter was nowhere to be found. Yet you shamelessly claim Ye Fan and your daughter are in a relationship, and blame my granddaughter for ruining it? I spit on your shamelessness. Do you even know what you’re talking about? Who can say what your daughter’s relationship with Ye Fan is? Perhaps it’s because your daughter couldn’t get married, you forced her, so she found Ye Fan to pose as her boyfriend, and you blindly believed it, right?"
"Claiming my granddaughter ruined Ye Fan’s relationship with your daughter is nonsense, it’s you, this stubborn fool, trying to ruin someone else’s relationship instead. Do you have thicker skin?"
"Ye Fan and my granddaughter are engaged willingly on both sides, you stubborn old fool, twisting around nonsensically, truly incomprehensible,"
Chu Erzhu was furious, his angry glare at Zhang Jiefang could devour a person.
"Such disrespect for your age, you’re already buried up to your neck in dirt yet still raising such a storm, aren’t you afraid of getting worked up and dying? You’re not, but I worry; if you suddenly drop dead, I can’t escape responsibility. At your age, why meddle in my daughter’s affairs with Ye Fan? Do you have nothing better to do? I’m warning you, since Ye Fan lived with my daughter, he’s my son-in-law and has no relation to your Chu family, and if you keep shamelessly ranting, I’ll never let it go." Zhang Jiefang spat furiously.
"Oh, acting all tough, want to hit me?" Chu Erzhu scoffed with laughter. "Don’t be fooled by me being over a decade older, when it comes to fighting, you wouldn’t stand a chance, I’ll knock you down in seconds, no problem."
"Ha, think you’re so strong? With those old arms and legs, still daring to boast? My twenty-eight years in the military are no joke, with your brittle old bones, you dare to claim you’d fight me? You’re just asking for a beating. I’ll give you a chance to back down; otherwise, if it comes to blows, I won’t go easy on you." Zhang Jiefang laughed scornfully.
"Kid, I was a soldier while you were still nursing, acting tough in front of me, are you sure you’re not out of your mind?" Chu Erzhu rolled up his sleeves, ready for action.
"Haven’t you heard of each wave surpassing the previous one? You’re destined to be struck down on the shore; without even that awareness, how do you manage? I reckon your entire age has been lived in vain." Zhang Jiefang kicked a bamboo chair flying and glared at Chu Erzhu.
The dispute between Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang had escalated into a battle of wills, like young hot-tempered men unwilling to concede, each tougher than the other.
Ye Fan couldn’t continue eavesdropping; anymore delay and they might really start fighting.
His head hurt dealing with this situation, where talking wouldn’t do much, nor would fighting help, making it a tough spot for Ye Fan.
He decisively pushed the door open and walked straight in.
Seeing Ye Fan, Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang were like rival armies on the brink of charge. Instantly, that tension vanished.
Chu Erzhu reined in his anger, sat down kindly and amiably, exhibiting a demeanor befitting an elder.
Similarly, Zhang Jiefang hurried to retrieve the chair he’d kicked, seated himself on it.
Chu Erzhu and Zhang Jiefang’s appearances suddenly became that of elders as they should be.
