My Perfect Female CEO-Chapter 1004: Playing Someone to Death Without Paying the Price
Lani welcomed Ye Fan, Nami, and Ku Eryue into the command center.
The gathered generals followed with great curiosity, their eyes mostly on Lani, not knowing what the situation was.
The arrival of Ye Fan and the others was naturally for Lani’s sake, not out of fear that Lani couldn’t control her subordinates, but to ensure the generals were utterly loyal and wouldn’t feign compliance. Ye Fan displayed full commitment to prevent any disloyalty to Lani.
"Everyone, surely you’re wondering about our purpose. Let’s be straightforward: we’re here to persuade you to surrender, to get you to change allegiance. I won’t waste words. Yahward is already surrounded by the army and will soon face defeat. You haven’t encountered much resistance because we and Lani staged everything to trap Yahward in an inescapable net."
"The troops besieging Yahward are ready. Today marks Yahward’s downfall."
"For Ba Country to avoid further devastation, for your future, for a stable environment for your families, to build a shared home, it is time to end this meaningless internal strife."
"We will be the deciding factor that ends this internal conflict."
"Once Yahward is eliminated, you all can enjoy wealth and glory, without needing to live by the sword anymore."
Nami got straight to the point, speaking words she had long prepared.
"What?" The generals exchanged puzzled glances, stirred by Nami’s words. Some were already swayed, yet they looked to Lani cautiously: "Leader, have you already decided, planning our future path?"
"Yes!" Lani responded decisively. "We should also contribute something to Ba Country. It’s our mission, as the force capable of uniting against chaos, to think of unification, not foolish warfare causing harm to everyone."
The generals understood that the arrival of Nami and the others was orchestrated by Lani.
"Mr. Ye, what do you say? Your influence in Ba Country is unparalleled, making you a force none can provoke. Can you overlook past conflicts between us and your Wild League, accept us without seeking retribution later?"
The generals harbored some doubt, fearing that disarmament would leave them vulnerable.
"Do I seem like someone petty? I assure you that the power and status you hold will be respected, provided you don’t betray Ba Country." Ye Fan spoke calmly.
"With Mr. Ye’s assurance, we have no doubts. We know Mr. Ye keeps his word."
"Mr. Ye, as an outsider, contributes to Ba Country’s cause out of goodwill. We admire this and want to offer what little strength we have."
"No two ways about it, let’s do it."
"Defeat Yahward, unite Ba Country; that’s the trend. Defying Mr. Ye is like defying fate."
The generals straightforwardly agreed, each making their decision, reaching a consensus.
Nami and Lani’s leadership seemed to hold less weight compared to Ye Fan in their eyes.
"Our personal visit signifies our sincerity. Since you’ve decided, I’ll announce the next step: immediately withdraw your forces from occupied cities and regroup, forming the strongest force to strike Yahward’s troops." Ye Fan commanded.
"Leader, shall we deliver the orders, set up defensive positions?" The generals sought Lani’s final approval.
"Go, and do it well. Don’t embarrass me." Lani smiled. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Don’t worry, leader. Watch us bring you glory." The energetic leaders went to make arrangements.
Lani looked at Ye Fan with a strange expression, speaking wistfully: "Mr. Ye, your words seem more effective than mine. If someone saw this, they’d think you were the leader and I, the outsider."
"Miss Lani, are you jealous?" Nami teased.
"Jealous?" Nami smiled indifferently, bringing up old memories. "Remember when I first visited Mr. Ye, back when you and Miss Chu were new to Ba Country? It seemed like you, Miss Nami, were the one jealous then, worrying Mr. Ye might engage with me."
Ye Fan interrupted the two women from arguing further, looking seriously at Lani: "We set up like this to reassure your subordinates, reduce their doubt, and ease your burden. Now that we’re deep in your camp, the generals naturally trust our open agreement. With our lives in their hands, it shows our sincerity."
"Everything is ready, should we order an immediate encirclement of Yahward?" Lani suggested.
"Not yet. Yahward is already nearly encircled, with only a gap extending towards your position." Ye Fan said, looking at Lani. "Have your forces build defenses and prepare to launch a fatal strike when Yahward tries to break through seeking help. Once Yahward attacks, launch a full-scale front line assault. Under heavy bombardment, Yahward will inevitably fall. When they weaken after battle losses, if they show signs of retreat, pursue relentlessly. Yahward’s overconfidence blinded him; he never expected defeat or built defenses in occupied lands. When the pursuit begins, it will be Yahward’s end."
"Mr. Ye has strategized with victory in hand." Lani smiled confidently.
"Yahward has recklessly advanced, thinking I’m no threat, unaware that while he pushes forward, we’re amassing forces to annihilate him." Nami laughed sweetly.
"Yahward’s feeble mind won’t even realize how he was outplayed." Ku Eryue seriously praised.
Lani’s camp was poised for action, weapons drawn, ready to taste blood.
