Mummy Evolution-Chapter 14: Incomplete fusion
Chapter 14: Incomplete fusion
He continued to read.
[The Tomb Raider Pathway is the path that can increase a living being's strength. It uses the energy of life itself to make one's body stronger, so if a mummy were to become a Tomb Raider, they wouldn't experience any of its strengthening benefits. Only living beings can benefit from it.]
No wonder I didn't get to stack the effects of both the Cryptwalker and Tomb Raider pathways.
[For a mummy, the benefits of becoming a Tomb Raider is not zero. It can help them gain vitality, which can help them regain a healthy appearance and a clearer mind than mummies.]
Ah, my mind IS indeed as clear as a human now.
His mind was no longer so jumbled and messy, his memories were also clear now. He hadn't noticed that until he was told. Nodding to himself, he was just about to close the system when a notification made him focus.
[You can fuse the benefits you get from the Tomb Raider pathway and Cryptwalker pathway into one. It will not give you any further benefits but will make the two paths work as one to help you. Do you wish to proceed?]
Hm, yes?
[Fusing the Tomb Raider and Cryptwalker Pathways into one!]
[Generating new stats.]
He curiously watched.

That didn't change things much, he thought. But then, he closed the system and looked towards Zainah. His eyes immediately lit up. The girl beside her had grown a fresh arm!
It was much paler than her other arm, which looked tanned. But this meant one thing. Zarah was talented in becoming a Tomb Raider. Not everyone was capable of that. The girl was part of the luckier half of the population.
Sett watched as Zarah's new arm slowly regained its color, the pale skin blending more naturally with the rest of her tanned body. The Tomb Heart had done its work, healing her wound and awakening her potential as a Tomb Raider. Zainah, still kneeling beside her sister, looked up at Sett with a mixture of relief and gratitude, though her eyes still held a hint of wariness.
"She's going to be fine," Sett said, his voice calm but firm. "But she's not out of the woods yet. She needs to absorb the remaining Tomb Hearts to stabilize her body and fully awaken her potential."
Zainah nodded, her hands trembling slightly as she picked up the remaining Tomb Hearts from the floor. She hesitated for a moment, glancing at Sett. "Will this... hurt her?"

Sett shook his head. "No. It'll feel strange, maybe even overwhelming, but it won't hurt. She's already absorbed one, so her body knows what to do. Just feed her the rest, one at a time."
Zainah took a deep breath and carefully placed another Tomb Heart into Zarah's mouth. The girl, still unconscious, instinctively swallowed it. Almost immediately, a faint glow emanated from her body, and her breathing steadied. The pale arm began to fill out, matching the tone and muscle definition of her other arm.
Sett watched closely, his sharp eyes noting every change. Zarah's body was adapting quickly, a sign that she had a natural affinity for the Tomb Raider pathway.
"Give her the next one," Sett instructed.
Zainah complied, feeding Zarah another Tomb Heart. This time, the glow around Zarah intensified, and her body twitched slightly as the energy coursed through her. Sett could see the faint outline of her muscles tightening, her body growing stronger with each passing moment.
By the time Zainah fed her the sixth and final Tomb Heart, Zarah's eyes fluttered open. She blinked, disoriented, before her gaze landed on Zainah.
"Sis...?" she murmured, her voice weak but clear.
Zainah's face brightened up with relief. "Zarah! You're awake! How do you feel?"
Zarah frowned, her hand instinctively moving to her newly grown arm. "I... I feel weird. Like I'm full of energy, but also... heavy?"
"That's normal," Sett interjected, his tone matter-of-fact. He couldn't help but have a good impression of the girl. "Your body is adjusting to the Tomb Hearts. You've just become a Tomb Raider, Zarah. A High-level Tier 1 Tomb Raider to be precise."
Zarah blinked, confused. For a second, she didn't even think about that crucial information and just stared at Sett, gulping.
"Who is this handsome twink sis?" she murmured, half dazed. "Some sort of prince?"
Zainah stole a glance and suddenly, even she froze. Sett now looked like a completely different man. He looked young, dashing, masculine. His long black hair was silky smooth, his golden eyes piercingly sharp.
More than anything, he was completely naked.
Sett raised his head like a proud peacock.
He even showed his chiseled jawline off with a subtle hand movement. It all came naturally. It was a skill that all narcissists possessed by nature.
"How corny," Zarah said, blushing as she covered her eyes with her hands. "Who is this guy really?"
She looked towards her sister and became even more confused. Why was her sister's face so red? Why was her expression so shy, timid?
Suddenly, a thought struck her.
No way.
Impossible.
She looked at the unknown man with disbelief. Sett had gone to take some bandages to cover his own limp manhood. He seemed incredibly embarrassed for some reason. No matter what, mummies can't make their thing stand after all.
"Hey dude, did you do something to my sis?" she asked.
Zainah just watched them, face flushed. But deep down, all her energy began to drain.
She was relieved.
So. So relieved.
Sett chuckled. For a few seconds, everyone remained silent.
Then, Zarah shrieked. "I AM A TOMB RAIDER?!"
