Chapter 585: Chapter 585: Is Audrey Pregnant?

Audrey Sutton noticed that as Clarissa Morgan approached, another man got out of the car that Clarissa had just stepped out of.

She was a bit surprised; she didn’t expect Quentin Sterling to show up here with Clarissa Morgan.

Because Audrey already knew they were divorced, and they hadn’t been seen together for a long time. There had been rumors online about their divorce days ago, but Clarissa Morgan’s fans lashed out at the gossip account for spreading falsehoods, and nobody believed it.

"Sister Morgan, Brother Sterling, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you both." Audrey smiled innocently, looping her arm through Shane’s.

Quentin Sterling locked the car door and walked over with a smile, naturally wrapping his arm around Clarissa Morgan’s waist. Their intimate demeanor seemed so natural, as if they weren’t divorced, or perhaps they had reconciled.

"Shane, Audrey, are you here to shop too?"

Shane nodded slightly and replied to Quentin Sterling, "Just taking her out for a walk."

Quentin Sterling said, "Let’s go together then. Clarissa just got back from filming out of town. I just picked her up from the airport, and she said she wanted to buy some groceries to cook a meal."

Audrey noticed Quentin Sterling was still treating Clarissa Morgan so well, she was a bit puzzled. Could it be they were really pretending to divorce?

After pondering, Audrey turned and smiled at Clarissa Morgan, saying, "Sister Morgan is a big star now, you’ll probably just get busier in the future."

Clarissa Morgan took off her face mask and hooked her arm around Quentin Sterling’s, smiling as she said, "I’m planning to take a break and really look at the scenery along the way, it’s been so hectic these days that it’s quite exhausting."

Audrey gave Clarissa Morgan a thoughtful glance, and Clarissa’s eyes carried a hint of something intriguing.

Clarissa Morgan seemed a bit more restrained than before, at least she wasn’t deliberately provoking Audrey verbally.

It seemed that the last time Audrey brought up the cause of Nolan Hawke’s death, it had made Clarissa Morgan cautious.

From Clarissa Morgan’s responses, it was almost certain that Nolan Hawke’s death was related to her, but all the clues and evidence had long been wiped clean, making it as difficult as climbing a mountain to catch anything concrete.

Moreover, seeing Quentin Sterling’s current attitude towards Clarissa Morgan, Audrey thought convincing Quentin Sterling to help expose Clarissa Morgan’s scheme might not go smoothly.

Audrey felt that the only weapon to bring Clarissa Morgan down was Quentin Sterling.

As long as Quentin Sterling saw through Clarissa Morgan’s true nature and she lost him as a pillar, she would be nothing.

The four of them first went to the produce section, with Audrey tightly holding onto Shane’s arm and following him closely, while Clarissa Morgan kept looking for chances to chat with Shane.

"Shane, I remember you didn’t like kiwis before, why are you buying such a big bag now?"

Before Shane could respond, Audrey quickly answered Clarissa Morgan, "Because I like them! And besides, the past is the past, and now is now. Has Sister Morgan heard of ’love me, love my dog’? The things I like, he somewhat starts to like as well."

Though it wasn’t true—Shane rarely ate sour fruits, at most drinking some apple juice, and only eating strawberries or grapes when Audrey fed him—her words had quite an impact, quickly quashing Clarissa Morgan’s subtle boasting about her understanding of Shane.

Shane didn’t say anything further, just packed the bag and then asked Audrey, "What else would you like to eat?"

Audrey thought for a moment and said, "Let’s buy some canned food, we’re almost out at home."

After saying that, Audrey turned to Quentin Sterling and Clarissa Morgan, "Brother Sterling, Sister Morgan, we’ll take a walk over there, so we won’t join you."

Quentin Sterling chuckled and nodded, "Okay. By the way, Shane, you’ll be attending the charity dinner hosted by Old Master Sue the day after tomorrow, right?"

Shane nodded, "I’ve received the invitation."

Quentin Sterling said, "Then let’s meet up again at that time."

Shane gave a slight "Mm" and, with a gentle nod of goodbye, wrapped his arm around Audrey and walked to the other side.

Once they were a bit further away, Audrey curiously said, "Weren’t they divorced? Why are they acting like nothing happened?"

Shane picked up a can from the shelf, looking at its label, "Aren’t you the one always in the know about these things? If you don’t know, how would I know?"

Audrey furrowed her brows in doubt, "It’s really strange, could it be Clarissa Morgan has some plan and is just playing along with Brother Sterling temporarily?"

Shane didn’t seem very interested in the gossip, put the can back and said, "These things have too many additives, better to have fresh fruit."

Audrey pouted, "I want to eat this, and it’s not as if there are fresh yellow peaches around this season."

Shane frowned, "Just hold off for now, we’ll talk after these months."

Audrey huffed, "What’s the matter? Just because there are too many additives you only care that your child can’t eat them, but once the child is born you stop caring about me?"

Shane glared at her, "Then you shouldn’t have them later either."

Although Audrey wasn’t satisfied with that, she knew pregnancy was a special time, so she didn’t force the canned food into the cart.

Wandering around, they reached the maternity and baby section, and Audrey couldn’t help but stop, picking out various small items she wasn’t sure if she’d need later.

Just as they left the maternity section, they bumped into Quentin Sterling and Clarissa Morgan head-on.

Clarissa Morgan glanced at the baby products on the shelf and then at Audrey’s padded coat hiding her not-very-visible belly, seeming to understand something.

Quentin Sterling outright asked, "Is Audrey pregnant?"

Shane instinctively answered, "Her sister-in-law is pregnant, they’re for her sister-in-law."

Quentin Sterling smiled knowingly, "I thought you were going to be a dad."

Audrey was very satisfied by Shane’s quick denial of the truth. With a quick thought, she asked, "Brother Sterling, Sister Morgan, when are you planning to have kids?"

Quentin Sterling glanced down at Clarissa Morgan. The two seemed to have different concerns in their eyes, and then Quentin Sterling said, "Not considering it for now."

Audrey smiled, "Kindly" reminding them, "Sister Morgan is almost thirty, if you’re planning to have kids, you should do it sooner rather than later. Waiting too long, you’ll be in the high-risk pregnancy category, and it’ll be a hassle having kids then. The physical toll on you will also be greater, and it won’t be as easy to recover as when you’re younger."

Clarissa Morgan tugged at her mouth corner, smiling somewhat reluctantly, "Thanks for the reminder, sister."
