Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 264: You Said a Bad Word
Audrey Sutton tried to persuade him, "It’s different, plus cherry blossoms only bloom once a year, it’s a rare opportunity, and you haven’t taken art photos before, just give it a try."
Her tone was already somewhat coquettish, but Shane Warner’s attitude remained firm, "If you want to take photos, do it yourself."
"I just want to take them with you. We haven’t even taken our wedding photos, and there’s not even a proper picture of us at home."
Shane Warner thought to himself, well, that’s true.
But what he said was, "I’m just your boyfriend now, why take wedding photos?"
"It’s not wedding photos, just an art shoot together. I think you’d look great in ancient costumes."
Shane Warner: "I look great without ancient costumes too."
Audrey Sutton: "... Well, that’s true. But think about it, you’re so handsome, trying different styles would be great, and you’d look good in anything anyway."
It obviously sounded like flattery, but every word was the truth.
Yet Shane Warner didn’t budge.
Audrey pouted, then said, "Then I’ll find another guy to partner with."
Shane Warner: "?"
"I’ll ask Boss Hawke if he knows any suitable male models to pair with me." Audrey said, and she really took a few steps towards Nolan Hawke.
Shane Warner furrowed his brow tightly, his tone displeased, "Get back here!"
Audrey was just waiting for him to stop her, even if his tone was harsh, she was quite pleased because it meant her method worked.
She returned to his side, "What? You don’t want to take photos with me, but I can’t take them without you?"
"Do you believe I’ll throw you in the trash can?"
"You’re swearing."
Shane Warner glared at her, his tone impatient, "Are you going in or not? Didn’t you just say there’s not enough time to play?"
"I’m going in, waiting for Bear." Audrey cheerfully held his hand, "So, does this mean you agree to the photoshoot?"
This time, Shane Warner didn’t refuse, his answer was, "Depends if I’m free."
Audrey: "The blossoms should last until next weekend. Anytime you’re free this week works!"
Although he didn’t give her a definite answer, Audrey understood him; if he didn’t explicitly refuse, it meant he agreed.
Besides, he was relatively free lately, and even if he wasn’t, he’d likely make time to accompany her.
Having been together for a while, Audrey felt she more or less understood Shane Warner’s character.
After entering the park, it was apparent Nolan Hawke mainly brought Barry Barrett to play, without much posing, mostly capturing candid shots of Barry with his camera.
Audrey suddenly envied those with photography-loving boyfriends.
Although Shane Warner’s photography skills weren’t entirely amateur, when asked to take photos, he could make her look good, he just didn’t like photography at all, let alone continuously snapping photos along the way.
Wearing traditional clothing didn’t hinder Barry Barrett from enjoying the amusement park rides.
Pirate ships, roller coasters, drop towers... 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Not a single attraction was missed.
Audrey didn’t let Shane Warner off just because Barry Barrett was with them; she pulled Shane along for every ride.
Except for the carousel.
Such a girly thing felt mismatched with him, and of course, he refused too.
Before coming, Audrey originally thought about using these thrill rides to test Shane Warner’s poker face.
But she underestimated Shane Warner’s mental resilience; when the roller coaster plunged vertically, while everyone else screamed, Audrey only saw in the video playback that Shane had the same expression throughout, as if he was merely sitting in an office with a powerful fan blowing on him. Apart from his messy hair, his expression was calm and indifferent, showing utter disrespect for the roller coaster.
Nolan Hawke wasn’t as aloof; he accompanied Barry Barrett jovially, comforting him by holding her hand when she got scared. Yet, during the vertical drops, both of them shouted loudly.
But they seemed to have a lot of fun.
In contrast, Shane Warner was dull.
Even after the drop tower, he was unfazed, whereas Audrey’s legs had gone soft, and he remained unaffected.
She had hoped to catch him looking scared or disheveled after getting off the pirate ship, possibly dizzy or even nauseous, but instead, it was Audrey herself who stumbled off the pirate ship, gagging.
Shane Warner, holding an open bottle of mineral water, looked at Audrey hunching over the trash can, retching. While gently patting her back, he asked, "Are you pregnant?"
Audrey glared at him unkindly, took the bottle, rinsed her mouth, took a deep breath, and said, "I’ll never ride a pirate ship again. It’s too nauseating."
Shane Warner recalled her earlier enthusiasm, she thought it was just like swinging on a swing. After a few swings, she’d say she doesn’t want to ride anymore and wants to get off.
Barry Barrett didn’t react as strongly and had already found their next target: the maze.
This amusement park’s maze is considered Rivia’s largest maze, with many TV variety shows having filmed here.
The four entered together, but at the first fork, they split into two groups and continued from different paths to see who could find the exit faster.
After parting from Barry Barrett and Nolan Hawke, Audrey tightly held Shane Warner’s hand, afraid of getting lost without him.
Surrounded by numerous green hedge walls, likely over two meters high, craning her neck offered no outside view.
"Haven’t we been here before?"
"Did we come back?"
"Where are we now?"
These were Audrey’s most frequently repeated questions, clearly indicating her confusion.
"You’re tall, stand on your toes and look."
Shane Warner glanced at her, "Even on tiptoe, I’m not over two meters."
"Then jump and look."
"You want me to jump all the way to find the path? I suspect you’re trying to inherit my fortune. Did you secretly buy insurance for me?"
Audrey rolled her eyes at him, "I just want to get out quickly. Wandering around here is a waste of time."
The feeling of disorientation gradually made her anxious and impatient. Only then did Shane Warner ask, "Where’s the map?"
Audrey handed him the map, "We don’t even know where we are. What’s the point of a map?"
Shane Warner took the map, glanced at it, then suddenly bent down. Before Audrey could react, she felt a force under her knees, her feet left the ground, and she was airborne...
Instinctively, she hooked her arm around Shane Warner’s neck, sitting in the crook of his arm. Slightly blushing, she asked, "What are you doing?"
Shane Warner maintained his composure, "Checking our position."
It was only then that Audrey understood why he picked her up. Why didn’t she think of this before?
Audrey peeked out and saw they were about in the maze’s center. Not far, she spotted the central fountain; using the fountain as a landmark, she quickly determined their location. Looking down at the map Shane held, she pointed, "We’re here."
