Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 722 - 718, a small hickey is concealed under the collar of the shirt.
In the routine morning meeting, Oliver Shaw sat in the president’s seat, still wearing the same suit he had worn to work yesterday.
The dark gray suit and white shirt were neat, his dark red tie perfectly knotted. As the departments reported their performance, Felix Shaw glanced faintly at his father, trying to discern something from his demeanor.
Oliver occasionally looked down at the documents in front of him, perhaps the tie was too tight as he casually reached up to adjust it—a very ordinary, casual gesture. However, it made Felix’s gaze tighten and his peach blossom eyes slowly narrow, even his fingers gripping the pen tensed.
When his father adjusted his tie earlier, Felix might have seen, if he wasn’t mistaken, a small patch of red on the left side of his father’s shirt collar, likely a kiss mark.
Throughout the morning meeting, Felix kept a covert watch on his father, who, although attentively listening to the department managers’ reports, did not wear his usual stern facial expression.
After the meeting ended, Felix intentionally took his time tidying up the materials in front of him. When only the two of them were left in the room, he spoke nonchalantly.
"Dad, why didn’t you invite me when entertaining the client yesterday? You’re getting older, let your son handle the socializing at the drinking table from now on. You should drink less; you’re not in great health as it is, and if you wear yourself out, mom will blame me."
"Ah, they’ve been old friends for decades, not really clients. Just happened to pass by T city, had no choice, had to deal with it despite poor health."
Oliver Shaw leaned back in his chair and sighed towards a particular spot, appearing surprisingly happy despite a night of heavy drinking, with no signs of discomfort or fatigue. Felix even noticed a hint of bliss in the uplifted corners of his father’s lips.
Having observed everything, Felix tidied up his files and stood up to leave, continuing, "Dad, why don’t you go home and rest? You drank a lot yesterday, and there’s nothing much at the company anyway."
"No need," Oliver Shaw let out a deep breath, straightened up, and picked up a document in front of him, saying, "It’s fine, I’ll just sleep in the rest room instead of causing a fuss, it would irritate your mom and the ladies during their card game."
After saying this, he stood up and walked out of the meeting room, but not before turning back to remind his son, "Felix, keep a close eye on the resort project. When you have time, go supervise it more closely, don’t let them cut corners."
"I know." Standing in place and watching his father’s departing figure, Felix’s expression was serious. A night of heavy drinking would drain a young man of his age too, yet his father, far from showing fatigue, looked even more refreshed and his face was flushed.
Ha, seems like he had a very comfortable evening yesterday. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
With a quiet snort, Felix thought, his father must have had a date with a woman last night, not just because of that little kiss mark on his neck, but also because of the joy and satisfaction radiating from his father’s face.
His peach blossom eyes slowly narrowed again, as Felix wondered, what kind of woman could make his father so happily pleased, even to the point of deceiving his own wife and son to secretly meet her?
Picking up the materials, Felix also walked out of the meeting room, feeling that for the sake of his and his mother’s interest, he should pay close attention.
The resort project had just started, and there were many things that needed Felix, the project director, to personally inspect on site.
About to head to the site, he suddenly thought of something and called Mia Foster, "Are you busy right now? I’m heading to the site, want to come along?"
