MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1046: Ignorance Is Bliss
Anthony walked with Iserios, Heinz, Butler Right, and Bryan, their footfalls echoing rhythmically as they moved together through the grand corridors. As they walked, Iserios introduced every single room they passed with a calm, composed smile on his face, his tone measured and refined.
Anthony simply nodded; although uninterested, he still asked questions as though he were interested, ensuring it would not seem as though the entire interaction was one-sided or dismissive in nature.
Soon, they arrived before a large opening where a round table had been placed, and four seats were arranged meticulously for Anthony, Iserios, Heinz, and Bryan. Anthony simply walked forward and sat down with calm ease, the moment he sat, the maids and butlers began to move in and out of the room in a seamless rhythm, bringing wines, alcohols, and cuisines of various kinds, each more exquisite than the last.
Although a foodie, Anthony had not seen some of these dishes; the food on the table consisted entirely of Mana-infused dishes, each radiating faint yet distinct energy signatures. Although at Anthony’s level they did not need food anymore, it was still courteous and culturally appropriate to offer something to visitors.
The spread of food was lavish, abundant, and excessive, to say the least; after all, with the appetites of Dragons, anything smaller might be no different from a mere appetizer to them, hardly worth acknowledging.
"I hope you love the dishes that were served," Iserios spoke with a refined tone. Due to Anthony’s presence, he had brought out wines and alcohol that he had been saving carefully for centuries, treasures that were rarely ever revealed.
"Thank you," Anthony replied, and without another word or unnecessary formality, he began to dig in, his movements calm and unhurried.
"So, what have you been up to these days?" Iserios asked as he ate with the grace, composure, and dignity of an Emperor seated upon his throne.
Anthony shook his head slightly as he spoke, "Nothing truly; everyone has entered seclusion, so... here I am," he answered truthfully as he sipped his wine with quiet indifference.
Iserios nodded, already aware of that detail, as Bryan had informed him of the situation over an hour ago, leaving little room for surprise.
"Anything interesting happening recently within the military? Like with the Demons, or overall? Of course, it’s understandable if it’s confidential, you do not have to tell us," Heinz’s voice came from the side; he made sure his tone was respectful and measured. Although he had once been Anthony’s upperclassman within the Omni Peak Academy, those days were long over and held no weight in the present.
"Hmmm," Anthony fell into brief contemplation as he chewed, his gaze lowering slightly, "well, nothing really. After wiping out the Forsaken Cult, I just entered seclusion, so nothing interesting," he stated plainly, then paused for a moment before continuing, "but it seems the Galaxy is in danger."
Heinz and Bryan frowned immediately, confusion and disbelief surfacing on their faces as they processed Anthony’s words.
"Danger?" Bryan asked, his brows furrowing slightly.
Iserios glanced at Anthony with a calm, knowing expression; of course, he understood that Anthony was referring to the Angels from the Divinora Galaxy. Although he had not attended the galaxy-wide meeting himself, as a Planetary-level being, he was still privy to such critical information through indirect channels.
"Well, another galaxy called the Divinora Galaxy is invading us. That galaxy is run by a race known as Angels," Anthony replied without any change in expression, as though he were merely stating something mundane and insignificant.
But his words struck like a nuclear blast in Bryan and Heinz’s ears, reverberating violently within their minds. They were still confined to the Blue Planet; they had not even left their own home world, and had barely ventured beyond their Dragon Domain. Now, they were hearing that their galaxy, something vast and incomprehensible that they had not even seen or explored, was being invaded.
The sheer scale of the concept overwhelmed their thoughts. The mere fact that another galaxy existed was already a monumental revelation to them. And now, that same unknown galaxy was launching an invasion, led by beings called Angels. What would come next? Gods themselves descending?
Now they did not just have to concern themselves with Demons, but Angels as well, entities whose nature and intentions were completely unknown to them.
"But there is no need to worry. A few days ago, we had a small-scale galaxy battle against them; there were about ten million of them or so, all at the Planetary level," Anthony added with complete nonchalance, as though discussing something trivial.
The more Anthony spoke, the more stunned the two became, their expressions gradually stiffening.
"What later happened?" Heinz asked as he swallowed hard, his imagination involuntarily conjuring the image of millions of Planetary-level beings clashing violently across the vast expanse of the galaxy.
Anthony’s eyes briefly left his plate as he spoke, "Of course, they were wiped out," before his gaze returned to his meal as though the outcome had been obvious from the beginning. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Iserios sighed softly as he interjected, "Well, I did not want to tell the two of you about this. After all, what is the use of you knowing? You both are simply too weak to affect battles of this scale. The saying that ignorance is bliss is perfectly fitting for your current situation," he stated with a neutral, expressionless face, his tone devoid of mockery yet heavy with truth.
Heinz and Bryan could not help but frown. They had been called weak, and yet there was no denying the truth in those words. In the face of such overwhelming battles, could they even contribute in any meaningful way? The answer was obvious, definitely not.
Bryan could only clench his fist tightly, a silent frustration building within him as he desired to grow stronger at a faster pace, yet he understood that his talent, no matter how monstrous, could only carry him so far. To the world, he was already a monster among monsters, a prodigy beyond compare, but to the galaxy at large, he was nothing more than an ordinary individual, insignificant in the grand scheme.
Anthony glanced briefly at Iserios, ’Ignorance is bliss is kind of true,’ he thought to himself in quiet agreement. After all, what would happen if the entire world became aware of the invasion? Panic would spread uncontrollably. The chaos already caused by the demons’ constant invasions was more than enough; adding the threat of Angels would undoubtedly plunge the world into complete disorder.
Besides, there would inevitably be those foolish enough to betray their own race and homes, naively believing that since they were Angels, they must be benevolent beings who had come for salvation, justice, or protection. Only if they truly understood the reality, the Angels would only show kindness to those who obeyed them like mindless entities. Question their authority even once, and one would immediately be branded a heretic without hesitation.
Anthony shook his head slightly at these thoughts before speaking once more, "I wonder what kind of trouble we will be facing when you both reach the Planetary level." His words were delivered casually, yet they carried a weight that Bryan and Heinz could not ignore, forcing their imaginations to wander.
If they were already facing a galaxy-wide war at this very moment, what kind of unimaginable threats would await them a thousand years into the future?
As Anthony continued dropping such overwhelming revelations upon Heinz and Bryan, subtly reminding them of how limited their current understanding of the universe truly was, he simply continued eating as though none of it concerned him in the slightest, his composure graceful and his demeanor entirely unbothered, as if such matters were nothing more than distant, inconsequential ripples in an otherwise vast and indifferent existence.
