Reincarnated in the game world ~ A gamer's beginning to [Dungeon job hunting recommendation]-Chapter 677Vol. 12 - - Reglam’s hesitation and Orihime’s fervor
For starter, I asked for Orihime-san's details.
At present, she was the first-year student of «Dungeon Support Major - Healer Department» as the «Priestess».
Tabasa-senpai had the same job before she acquired an advanced job. While not the high-tier—it was high-ranking mid-tier—the job was plenty capable of healing and summoning arts through mediums.
However, if someone had far bigger ambition as healer, then, for the «Baron» category, the high-tier «Princess Job» was certainly one to choose. With that said, «Mermaid Princess» was a just choice, but there was one doubt.
"Reglam. Can you even apply for «Job Transfer System» if you already have another high-ranking job?"
"After looking around, it appears it's possible if the student is applying for a different major and they do manage to acquire the respective category's high-ranking job."
"Yes, we have properly inquired about it. And I have been hoping to join the same Combat Department as Reglam-sama."
What?! Now that was surprising. ...I only knew about job transfer, but hearing that even a department change was possible was new to me. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
The two departments were quite different in their aspect. The Combat Department should've been familiar by now. It focused more on dungeon exploration, strategising party formation and boss defeat method, and also teaches about drops and so on.
The Healer Department was one of the subset of Support Major. Speaking of latter, it often involved in providing help outside the dungeon. A few examples of this major would be «Inn Manager», and «Thereupatic».
There were also other examples, involving treatment, like «Doctor» or «Priest». Their role were often healing the knocked out students Rescue Committee would bring along, or helping the tamed monsters recover. Then there were some rare ones, like «Misfortune Disperser», who offers to cast an enchantment to prevent a part of debuffs like «Curse» for a duration of one dungeon run.
The other cases would be becoming a part of the Rescue Committee, tasked with the duty to rescue knocked out students from dungeons, or carrying out an emergency action. «Lifesaver» incorporates these.
There were even jobs like «Medical Caravan» who would roam around the dungeons, and help out the students in need, like recovering their injuries and so on. Albeit, this one was an advanced job.
Orihime-san's «Priestess» could be a part of either the «Combat Department» or «Healer Department». While she could choose her department here, the «Mermaid Princess» was largely oriented for «Combat Department. To put it short, it was the healer role among other princess job.
Was «Mermaid Princess» even a real job»? There might be some doubts, but to put it in Dungeon Activity style, Mermaid Princess were like an idol. It's pretty good job. Surely, one of the developers must have been a huge fan of mermaid's princess's singing and dancing. I heard these rumours floating around in the gam—whoops, look at me, It wasn't the topic.
Anyway, «Mermaid Princess» was primarily a healer job, and it was capable of taking quite a few roles as well, like buffer or debuffer. If anything, I would welcome anything.
"Hmm...... have you made up your mind?"
I couldn't help but inquire again to affirm her determination. I mean, as far I can see, I really see no reason to transfer from «Priestess». It, too, was a splendid job.
Reglam's expression faltered at my words, but in retrospect, a beaming smile spread on Orihime-san's face.
"Absolutely! To be honest, I had always been so envious of your guild members."
"Why would you?"
"Because there's always that smile on Reglam-sama's face whenever he speaks about the dungeon exploration, truly enjoying it. I felt left behind. I couldn't be a part of that, and then I saw your class during competition, you'd been having so much fun.... So I made up my mind! I will change my job, and make my place into the same class, and guild as Reglam-sama! And for that, I need an adequately strong job!"
A-ah. It appeared there was no shaking Orihime-san's resolve. She was doing all that so she could be with Reglam... He truly has a loving fiance for himself, eh? ...Would be a lie if I say I wasn't jealous of him. Though the latter cradled his head in his arms.
Speaking of it though, she would only get chance to be with Reglam in same class after the new term. But aside that, Eden was in dire need of healer, so a Princess job with that role would be epic. Reglam was her introducer, and we could be counted acquaintances to some degree.
And personally, I was impressed by her resolve. I had always liked those who always strived for best, and she had been doing that. Trying for a higher path despite acquiring an adequate place far better than others.
"So, Zephyr-san, I was hoping to join your guild."
She said with a curt bow.
Hope? Nope. You're already in! I had immediately wanted to welcome her, but forced the words down my throat. While I had no qualm, I needed to take the opinion of her neighbour.
"Why not, I am quite glad... but what about you, Reglam?"
He had been having a bitter expression for a while now. Was he opposed to Orihime-san's joining?
"Ah, I have no objection. ...Yeah, It's just...... I am a bit conflicted if it's even a good idea to let her meet the girls of Eden."
Reglam's glance shifted toward Misato.
Ah, figured. The memory of summer vacation was still vivid in my mind. Orihime-san... she truly was quite a proactive person when it comes to love. I bet they would swarm around her, and probe the relationship between them. What do they call... 'love-talk' I guess?
Meanwhile, Orihime-san had a straight-forward character. Imagining the discussion they might have... yeah, I could understand why he felt awkward.
"Is that a problem? If someone is curious about our relationship, I wouldn't mind spreading the tale of our love."
"It's not something you spread. Please, just try to do it in moderation."
"No, it's something that must be done to make sure no stinky insects come after Reglam-sama."
Heh, even Reglam was quite helpless against her, eh?
Misato's face was full of grins.
"Alright, then I guess that wouldn't be a problem (?). Orihime-san, let's get you to have «Mermaid Princess»."
"You said it like it's just taking a stroll. ...I should have expected you to know that too."
"Ahaha, well the answer is a secret."
"Tahaha..."
"Since no one has objection—welcome to the guild, Orihime-san. I am glad to have you onboard!"
"I, too, am excited to have you~."
"Thank you, truly. I still lack in many places, but I promise to do my best for Eden, and for Reglam-sama."
"Urgh..."
And that filled the slot for a healer.
Reglam groaned bitterly, but he should be able to feel her love for him. His expression was conflicted. Frankly, he should give up.
What about the interview of Orihime-san? We did not need that. Reglam introduced her after all. I know him enough, and he would've never brought her if he wasn't clear about it, even if she was her fiance.
Besides, it was a «Princess» job. It was just next to Lana's «Saintess». I wouldn't be me if I rejected her.
And so, we immediately sprang to our feet, and helped Orihime-san clearing conditions, bringing her to apply for the «Job Transfer System». She should be «Mermaid Princess» either tomorrow, or day after tomorrow.
With that said, I was back to my headache—to choose the remaining three names or guild.
