Martial Arts Ain't Anything Special-Chapter 101: I Won’t Die (3)
Chapter 101: I Won’t Die (3)
An Unrestrained Realm martial artist possesses their own domain.
A domain is the space they exist in, the range affected by their mental imagery.
The ability to manipulate nature qi was merely a byproduct.
Thus, an Unrestrained Realm martial artist can warp everything within that range as they will.
Twist Heaven Invert Earth.
The heavens and earth warped. As the Qilian Sect Leader’s mind altered the space as he desired, all of creation began to distort.
Even Seojun’s Yellow Dragon Ascends was caught in its influence. The Heaven-Defying Sun-Moon Art dragon went along a strange path before crashing into the ground.
“Hmm...”
Nonetheless, the Qilian Sect Leader couldn’t help but marvel at Seojun. There was a space about two finger joints above Seojun’s skin that even he could not touch.
“How strange.”
He flipped his palm. Heaven and earth swapped places. Yet the direction of gravity remained the same. Seojun’s body began falling toward the sky.
Boom!
The Fist King exploded the air with his foot and charged at the enemy. Seojun’s eyes lit up.
His body was extraordinarily tough. It remained unscathed from the Qilian Sect Leader’s light attacks, and his punches could pierce through a single defense.
While he on the other hand was barely holding his own against the Qilian Sect Leader thanks to his own unique attributes. The one able to actually damage him was the Fist King.
I’ll support the Fist King.
After organizing his thoughts, Seojun bloomed plum blossoms beneath his feet and created two pairs of arms with demonic qi, using the horns on his head to sensitively detect the qi within the domain.
The Qilian Sect Leader’s finger drew a circle, and wind soon gathered and enveloped the Fist King.
Seojun preemptively sensed it and stepped forward. Primordial Sun-Moon Art. He threw a sphere at the Fist King, clearing away the wind with its explosion.
“I’ll deal with you later!”
The Fist King pressed forward despite being hit by the Primordial Sun-Moon Art. The Qilian Sect Leader narrowed his eyes.
“Good grief.”
His left and right hands formed different hand seals.
Trees explosively grew from the ground above his head, while a rain of fire surged from the sky beneath his feet.
Wood Generates Fire. The two sorceries fused into a massive fiery vortex.
CRACKLE───────!!
The Fist King’s body began to burn. He held his breath, inflated his muscles, and pushed away the flames.
Seojun examined the Qilian Sect Leader’s sorcery with his horizontally slit pupils.
Five Elements. He already had some understanding of Earth.
He had seen Fire and Wood.
With three pieces of the interconnected Five Elements filled in, he could now derive the remaining pieces.
Five Elements, Water, Gather.
Ripple!
Streams of water burst from the ground above his head and converged into one.
Though unable to extinguish the flames, it reduced their intensity. The Fist King clenched his fist with a more comfortable expression.
The Qilian Sect Leader raised an eyebrow.
“You want to compete with me in sorcery? Interesting. Very well. I will use only the Five Elements against you.”
He flicked his finger, and soil fell from the ground above Seojun, engulfing him.
Fire Generates Earth. Flames hardened the soil.
BOOM────────!!!
The Fist King slammed his fist against the earth wall, cracking it, revealing the Qilian Sect Leader smiling on the other side.
“What will you do this time?”
Earth Generates Metal. Metal pieces emerged from the soil and shot toward the Fist King.
These were not simple metal pieces. They left quite deep wounds on his tough skin due to being created through sorcery.
Seojun’s lips stretched into a grin as he formed hand seals with his fingers.
Though untaught, his fingers moved guided by qi, forming the correct hand seals.
Five Elements, Fire, Melt.
He seized and revitalized the dying flames created by the Qilian Sect Leader.
The flames engulfed the Fist King, and the slightly melted, blunted metal pieces failed to penetrate his skin.
“Not bad.”
The Qilian Sect Leader waved his hand. Just as he was about to form his next technique, Seojun charged in alongside the Fist King.
“Weren’t you going to face me with sorcery?”
The Qilian Sect Leader asked with a wry laugh. Seojun raised his middle finger.
“When’d I say that?”
Lightning imbued his sword, the sky beneath his feet. This unfamiliar situation sparked inspiration.
The sky rose with the stroke of his sword. The emperor with three heads and six arms thrust forward, holding a sword in each of his six hands.
Sword Form of the Emperor.
The Fist King using his foot as a pivot, turned his body, and then from his toes to his waist, shoulder, elbow, and finally to his fist, he squeezed out all his strength in a singular punch.
Supreme Fist.
The Qilian Sect Leader clicked his tongue.
“This is becoming bothersome.”
He drew upon the power within his mind that he had been suppressing. Twist Heaven Invert Earth. Space warped as Seojun’s sword and the Fist King’s punch collided.
BOOM────────!!!
The two were sent flying in opposite directions.
“Ugh...!”
Seojun pieced together his crushed right arm with inner qi.
“Watch out!”
The Fist King warned him.
In that moment, space bent, and the Qilian Sect Leader appeared before him.
He waved his hand. Time was moving slowly. The hand reaching for him was clearly visible. He could see the edge of the hand, the reinforced qi gathered above it—aiming for his neck.
Slash!
Seojun’s neck was cut off. His head fell. His vision went black...
“Ughhh...!”
An arm made of demonic qi instinctively caught his head and placed it back against his neck, reattaching it.
After experiencing death for a brief moment, he felt a thrill, an exhilaration.
An electrifying inspiration hit him like a lightning bolt, and his head burning white-hot as if in ecstasy, thirsted for blood.
“You can do better than that!”
Red and blue yin qi and yang qi intertwined on his sword. They formed a reverse taiji imbued in the sword, taking the shape of a murky blade.
Heaven-Defying Sun-Moon Reinforced Qi.
He swung it. The Qilian Sect Leader’s eyes widened as he twisted space.
SWOOSH────────
The sword rended through even space and touched the Qilian Sect Leader’s body. He quickly retreated, laughing loudly with his hand on his neck. Red blood. How many centuries had it been?
“Ha, hahaha...! Fascinating! You, are you not human?”
The Fist King flying through the air with explosive force also looked at Seojun strangely, even subtly increasing the distance between them.
Seojun nodded slightly, watching the Qilian Sect Leader.
Swish—
The Heaven-Defying Sun-Moon Reinforced Qi imbued in his sword scattered. Even the current Seojun could only maintain it for a moment. He tilted his head.
“Dunno, so what. It’s nice, don’t you think? Yeah, I’m getting fired up!”
Seojun’s whites turned pitch black. The red irises of his eyes reflected his enemy.
Looking at him interestingly, the Qilian Sect Leader spoke.
“Hey, Fist King.”
“What do ya want?”
The Fist King responded with a frown.
“No matter how I look at it, that seems to be a spawn of the Heavenly Demon. Is it fine to leave him be?”
“Why are you concerned? Mind your own business and give me your head.”
“Oh dear, even when I worry you’re still being difficult.”
“Shut up.”
Listening to their exchange, Seojun gritted his teeth, trembling violently. His feet scratched at the empty air like he was ready to charge forth in an instant.
The Qilian Sect Leader laughed loudly and waved his hand.
“Well, fine. Time is short, and you’ve shown me something interesting, so I’ll leave it at this.”
“Where do you...!”
Seojun charged with Heaven-Defying Sun-Moon Reinforced Qi imbued in his sword. The Qilian Sect Leader bent space and vanished instantly.
Swoosh!
His sword cut through the air. He whipped his head around to look at his opponent, who merely waved his hand with a smile.
“See you next time. When you’ve ripened.”
Whoosh!
As all traces of him disappeared, his domain was released.
Heaven and earth returned to their proper places, and Seojun’s feet touched the ground.
Crack. Seojun made a throat-clearing sound as his eyes flashed. The Fist King called out to him from afar.
“Hey. Are you in your right mind?”
“Euuhh...”
“Seems not.”
The Fist King scratched his head. Seojun, glaring at him with red eyes, suddenly raised his hand and struck his own head.
Bang!
His once-black whites returned to white. Then he started spouting a bunch of nonsense.
Chunbong? Bluetooth? The Fist King couldn’t understand a word.
Seojun continued muttering random words for a while, then cut off his own horns.
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
The Fist King looked at him as if he were crazy.
“Young people these days...”
“...Shut your mouth.”
Thud. Seojun collapsed.
*Namgung Changhwi panted heavily and looked around. The Black Serpent was retreating.
A de facto victory. His eyes trembled in disbelief.
“Truly...”
He looked at the battlefield where two Transcendent Realm martial artists had fought an Unrestrained Realm martial artist. The landscape had completely changed.
The brief glimpse of battle he had seen was not human.
The heavens and earth completely reversed within a spherical space, mountains rose, and storms of fire raged. The Young Master had survived unscathed from a battle that resembled that of immortals.
“I cannot believe it...”
By what means did Young Lady Suah bring such a man to the clan?
From his first day, he had saved severely injured people who were certainly doomed, and now he had even bought time in a battle against an Unrestrained Realm martial artist and lived to tell the tale.
This was no ordinary matter.
While the Unrestrained Realm martial artist was away, the Murim Alliance could gain tremendous advantages.
It was likely that the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect near Mount Qilian had moved, shifting the balance of surrounding conflicts.
Perhaps they had even eliminated several of the Black Serpent’s Transcendent Realm experts.
“WOOOOOOO──────!!!”
Amidst the cheers around him, Namgung Changhwi slowly walked toward Seojun.
His footsteps gradually quickened from the overwhelming emotions.
And there, Jang Geuk who had arrived first was exchanging fierce glances with the Fist King.
The Fist King frowned and said.
“Move aside, bandit.”
“Haha, what a rude bastard.”
“I won’t say it twice.”
“Even if our lord is not quite human-like, he’s the Namgung Clan’s son-in-law, you know? Do you wish to lose your neck to the Clan Head?”
Though he didn’t understand the situation, it was clear whose side to take.
“Senior, please calm down and let’s have a talk.”
*That bastard never listens to anything I say when I tell him not to wander around!
On the top floor of an inn, Chunbong was munching on sweet rice cakes while looking out the window.
She had a clear view of the path her big brother would have to pass if he returned.
As she absentmindedly watched people passing by, someone approached her.
“Young lady, please don’t be like this and let’s talk...”
“I told you, I got nothing to say.”
Chunbong glared sharply at the man who kept talking to her.
The man smiled awkwardly and waved his hand.
“It’s nothing special, I just thought we could have a drink together....”
“Hey.”
“Yes?”
“Do you seriously want to die? I told you to calm your ass down, but you keep...!”
As Chunbong swung her chopsticks coated with sword qi, the terrified man quickly backed away.
“W-Wait...! I understand! I’ll leave, so please...”
“Why aren’t you gone yet?”
“Yes, ma’am!”
The man ran away in panic.
Chunbong sat down again and looked out the window.
The corners of her lips rose slightly.
Just wait till you get back, Lee Seojun, you bastard.
I’ll make you lose your mind with my mature charm...!
Grinning like a fool, Chunbong giggled to herself lost in her own delusions.
