Manaless Mage-Chapter 213: Offence is the best defence!
Chapter 213: Offence is the best defence!
A surge of mana rose up behind Trent’s, and his eyes widened in shock.
"Shattering Rocks!" Wes shouted, with a smug smirk on his face
Whoosh!
Four medium sized rocks appeared behind Trent, before shooting towards him at rapid speed.
As the rocks closed in on him, they swiftly broke up into numerous small stones, each one flying forwards at even faster speed.
"You think such a weak spell would affect me? Pathetic." Trent muttered, swiftly conjuring a small barrier of water behind him. "Water barrier."
Slosh!
The stones crashed into the barrier, instantly crumbling into tiny brown particles.
Since they were only casted with the left over mana from the last spell, they were easily overpowered by the water barrier.
"Heh. As expected, you blocked it easily." Wes mumbled, with a wry smile on his face.
Just as Trent was able to change the ’form’ of his elemental mana after casting a spell, he could also do the same, although, he wasn’t as proficient.
Back then, when he launched the earth spikes, he purposely dissolved them, making Trent think he squatted them away.
By using the dissolved mana, he hurriedly casted another spell, in order to catch the Elementalist off-guard.
However, it was all pointless at the end, since not a single of them reached him.
His might have worked on most Elementalists, but Trent wasn’t one to drop his guard so easily.
Although he had expected this, he still felt quite bad.
With that, his mana reserves were totally exhausted, and he had no more power to fight back.
"I agree, you win... this time Trent." He said, his gaze drifting back to the Elementalist.
"Yeah... you had no chance to begin with." Trent replied, narrowing his eyes slightly.
Slosh!
Thwack!
He suddenly flung Wes in the air, before smacking him to the side with a swift swing of one of the tentacles.
"Arrgh!" Wes grunted in pain, as he felt the thick tendril slam into his torso.
His body was immediately sent flying, crashing into the ground outside the stage.
[After an amazing exchange of spells, we finally have our winner! Trent Morton!!]
The audience immediately exploded into cheers after hearing the announcement, chanting praises of Trent.
Meanwhile, Trent dissolved the water spell, causing the tentacles to disintegrate into tiny dots.
His brows furrowed into a deep frown, as he slowly walked down the stage.
Although he won the fight, he didn’t feel too happy about it for some reason.
A part of him expected a certain voice to speak within him, however, it remained silent.
’Whatever.’ Trent thought, calmly walking away from the stage.
[Moving on to the next match of the event, Harry Ainsworth Vs David Stein!!]
Following the commentator’s words, the two students gently walked unto the stage, but not before exchanging a brief glance.
A few minutes later, the two of them positioned themselves on each side of the stage, only waiting for the commentator to announce the start of the fight.
’Probe.’

His stats were not that different from what Harry expected.
[Probe Level up!]
[Skill "Probe" now level 5!] ƒгeewebnovёl.com
What he hadn’t expected was the notification that flashed across his eyes.
’Finally.’ Harry thought, his lips curling into a slight smile as he read through the notification.
Although he had been using the skill frequently, it never levelled up for some reason.
Seeing as it finally reached level five, Harry was quite happy.
While he was still thinking about his skills, another notification suddenly appeared in front of him, and his lips curled into a slight smirk.
Meanwhile, David’s eyes narrowed as he stared at his opponent.
Despite them standing face to face, Harry’s eyes were spaced-out, as if he wasn’t even looking at him.
’What if this, he’s not even focusing on his opponent? I was right, winning against those two sure has gotten into his head.’ He thought, letting out a light scoff.
’Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to show you... the difference between us.’
[Let the match begin!!]
The moment the start of the duel was announced, David immediately launched an attack.
Swoosh!
"Wind Slash!" He shouted, swiftly sending out a powerful slash of wind towards Harry.
Harry stared at the wind slash rapidly closing in on him for a few seconds, before deciding to counter with his own.
Whoosh!
"Wind Slash." He muttered, conjuring a powerful slash of wind before shooting it towards David.
Bam!
Fwoosh!
The two attacks collided mid-air, and to David’s surprise, Harry’s ’spell’ effortlessly cut through his own, and his spell immediately crumbled into tiny dots.
Whoosh!
The attack hurtled towards him at insane speed, its speed not even reducing in the slightest.
’What the hell...’ David thought, with a deep frown on his face.
Unbeknownst to him, Harry didn’t just launched the slash. He made sure to enhance it even more with his energy, bringing its power to a whole new level.
David’s attack never stood a chance.
"Wind Steps!" He hurriedly casted another spell, and a large amount of wind rapidly gathered around his feet, greatly enhancing his speed.
Swoosh!
Using his boosted speed, he quickly dashed to the side, narrowly avoiding the slash as it flew past him.
"Blade Barrage!" He shouted, summoning a large number of wind blades, before shooting them at Harry.
From what he had noticed, Harry didn’t have any defensive ’spells’.
All of his matches were won by overwhelming his opponents with his superior strength and speed, and also his high elemental power.
However, when it came to a barrage of attacks, coming at him at the same time, there was no way he could escape!
Even speed wouldn’t help in that kind of situation. ’You think you’re so talented, I’ll prove to you, the difference between talent and skill!’ David thought.
Whoosh!!
Whoosh!!
The blades flew through the air at insane speed, rapidly closing in on Harry.
"Wind Blades." Harry muttered, immediately conjuring a large number of blades in front of him, shooting them towards the incoming barrage of attacks.
’I don’t have any defence-oriented skills, but I can just overpower all attacks thrown at me, with even greater attacks!’ Harry thought, with a slight smirk on his face.
He knew how flawed his thinking was, but he didn’t really care. After all, offence was the best defense.
