The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?!-Chapter 1278 - 787: Pathology Department Building_2
Hu Tutu said.
"Okay."
He obediently put on the suit and trousers, and they indeed fit him perfectly.
"Please wait a moment."
Hu Tutu took out a gift box from the storage cabinet.
Its contents were not visible from the surface, but the packaging hinted at its high value.
After getting ready, she drove Liu Zheng to another parking lot.
After a few steps out of the car, they arrived in front of the Pathology Building.
The Pathology Building was considerably shorter than the Emergency Building, and its exterior was much older, clearly reflecting their relative status.
"The pathology department is a secondary department in the hospital, not that prioritized, but the basic relations are still maintained."
Hu Tutu said.
Liu Zheng nodded without speaking, he was already in the zone.
"Very good."
Hu Tutu admired his demeanor.
Many clients, especially those who opt for custom services, are quite uncooperative. They might insist on going west when you ask them to go east, and when things go wrong, they blame the medical consultant. Clients like Liu Zheng, who are understanding, are rare.
Hu Tutu held the gift box as she walked into the building, Liu Zheng followed closely, slightly bowing his head.
A middle-aged nurse playing with her phone at the nurse station looked up and saw the two people walking in one after the other.
"Oh, isn’t this Manager Hu? What brings you to our desolate Pathology Department?"
She said with a somewhat sarcastic tone.
"Oh, Sister Ma, as you say, didn’t I just come here last month?"
Hu Tutu approached her with a smile, while Liu Zheng followed her leisurely.
"Coming once a month still makes you a rare guest, right? You’re at the Emergency Center every day, aren’t you?"
Nurse Ma said, pursing her lips.
"The company assigns me to the Emergency Center, I can’t help it. Honestly, chatting with you is interesting. If the company stationed me here, I wouldn’t mind losing my managerial position."
Hu Tutu joked.
"Ha ha ha!"
Nurse Ma covered her mouth, letting out a restrained laugh.
"You sweet talker. Now tell me, what brings you to our Pathology Department?"
She asked Hu Tutu after laughing.
As she spoke, her gaze briefly scanned Liu Zheng.
"To visit Doctor Yang."
Hu Tutu lifted the gift box in her hand.
"Which Doctor Yang?"
"Doctor Yang Fengdian."
She replied.
"Why do you want to see him?"
Nurse Ma immediately frowned.
"I want to consult him on some medical issues."
Hu Tutu came up with a casual reason.
"Why consult him? You could just go straight to Dr. Ni."
Nurse Ma said.
"It’s not good to keep bothering Dr. Ni. Besides, I’m afraid if I can’t answer his questions, he might use me as a teaching example."
Hu Tutu said with a wry smile.
Dr. Ni’s full name is Ni Zaza, a deputy chief physician in the Pathology Department, known for his vast knowledge and willingness to answer queries.
But he has a quirk. After answering questions, he will quiz the questioner on previous content. Failure to answer correctly could lead to the questioner being used as a live example for demonstration.
Typically, the conditions queried are quite complex, and even if they are treatable, the process is quite painful.
Consequently, most people only dare to ask him questions once and never return.
"True enough. But even if you’re not going to Dr. Ni, you shouldn’t go to him. If you accidentally offend him, that’s scarier than being used as a teaching example by Dr. Ni."
Nurse Ma said.
From this exchange, it was clear that they actually have a decent relationship, with previous sarcasm merely a form of unconventional interaction.
"Can’t be helped, his medical skill takes precedence over temperament. Especially someone like Doctor Yang, who’s gifted in clinical research, naturally the company places high value on him."
Hu Tutu sighed.
"Impressive."
Liu Zheng listened and silently gave her a thumbs up in his mind.
With just a few sentences, she made Nurse Ma believe the company was forcing her to come, displaying persuasion skills that are almost at his level. No wonder she charges $25,000 an hour.
"Alright then. Here, fill it out yourself."
Nurse Ma pointed at the registration book on the counter.
"Alrighty."
Hu Tutu wrote her information on the registration book.
She didn’t hand the pen to Liu Zheng nor did she immediately put it down, instead, she continued as if she was going to write more, then as if suddenly remembering something, she put the pen down and stepped aside.
Liu Zheng stepped forward, conveniently filled out his information, mimicking her actions.
Nurse Ma’s gaze lingered on his face for two seconds before turning back to Hu Tutu.
"You remembered to bring something for Doctor Yang, but forgot about your Sister Ma?"
This time, she was genuinely sarcastic.
"How could I?"
Hu Tutu took out a small box from her pocket.
"Guess what this is?"
She shook the box lightly.
"This is... Essence Liquid from the ’Mystery in Womb’ series."
Nurse Ma quickly recognized it, speaking excitedly.
"Only my Sister Ma could recognize it, it’s yours."
Hu Tutu placed the box into her hand.
"This is too much."
Nurse Ma rubbed her hands together.
If she remembered correctly, a bottle costs over 5,000 yuan, equivalent to her entire month’s salary.
Previously, gifts she received hardly exceeded a few hundred yuan, so this sudden leap made her slightly uneasy.
"What’s a little Essence Liquid between sisters? Just take it."
Hu Tutu helped her hold onto the box tightly.
"Oh, I can’t say no to you, I’ll treat you to a meal next time."
Nurse Ma accepted, putting the box directly into her pocket.
"Great, I know a place that serves homemade dishes. All ingredients come from a private farm outside the city, extremely fresh and delicious."
Hu Tutu suggested.
"Alright, I’ll go with your choice."
Nurse Ma agreed cheerfully.
"Well then, Sister, I’ll head upstairs first, we’ll chat later."
She said.
"Go on. Wait, take this."
Nurse Ma stopped her and handed her a key.
"This is the key to the women’s changing room. If Doctor Ma starts acting crazy, hide in there. He probably wouldn’t dare to enter. Remember to return it after use, don’t lose it."
Nurse Ma instructed.
"Thank you Sister Ma, don’t worry, I’ll keep it safe."
Hu Tutu thanked her.
After saying goodbye to Nurse Ma, the two took the elevator to the third floor.
Though Doctor Yang was most likely in the lab on the eighth floor, as a medical consultant, it made sense to check the office first.
The interior of the Pathology Building was even older than it appeared outside. The white-painted walls were peeling or cracked with various different colored and shaped stains.
Upon closer inspection, it was evident many areas with stains had thicker paint than other places.
This indicated that the workers tried to cover the stains with new paint but weren’t successful.
"Huh?"
Liu Zheng looked at a stain, which looked increasingly like a deformed hand.
"Ahem."
Hu Tutu casually adjusted her position, blocking his view, and coughed to remind him.
Liu Zheng quickly retracted his gaze, understanding her meaning.
Once she noticed he understood, Hu Tutu continued moving forward.
This time Liu Zheng focused tightly on the back of her head without glancing around.
Soon, they arrived at Room 303.
Hu Tutu put on a glove and pushed open the left door.
Inside was a small public area, beyond which were three offices, labeled 303-1, 303-2, and 303-4.
Liu Zheng was curious about the absence of a 303-3, but now was not the moment to ask.
Hu Tutu went to the door of 303-1, took a deep breath, then knocked on the door with her gloved hand.
"Who is it?"
A dull male voice responded from within.
"Hello, I’m from ’Undying’ Medical Consulting Company, here to visit Doctor Yang Fengdian."
Hu Tutu replied.
"He’s not in the office, go elsewhere to find him."
The person inside answered.
