Chapter 210: Nathan Vs Darius
The event progressed as usual, and the two participants from group one gently climbed unto the stage.
Nathan’s opponent, Darius Black, was a tall, ebony skinned boy with short black hair and pitch black eyes.
He was a late stage two Elementalist, with high grade lightning affinity, and medium grade wind affinity.
Despite the fact that he was still in his fourth academic year, he was sure to cross through to the next stage within a few months, which was proof of his talent.
His eyes narrowed at the combat mage, and he took a simple stance.
Nathan simply flashed a smirk at him, swinging his sword nonchalantly by his side.
[Let the match begin!]
"Lightning Arrows!" Darius shouted, swiftly conjuring seven lightning arrows in front of him.
Blitz!
The arrows crackled violently with electricity, each one containing insane power.
With a sharp wave of his hand, Darius shot all the arrows towards Nathan.
Blitzzz!!
The arrows flew through the air at rapid speed, rapidly closing in on the combat mage.
However, just as they were about to reach him, Nathan suddenly swung his sword, sending a thin wave of mana towards the projectiles.
Fwoosh!
Bam!
The slash wave collided against four of the arrows mid-air, effortlessly breaking them into pieces.
As for the rest of the lightning arrows, Nathan easily deflected them to the side.

Darius’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, as he hurriedly channeled his mana to cast another spell.
"Wind Slash!" He shouted, instantly launching a long wind slash towards the attack.
Swoosh!
Swish!!
The two slashes clashed in the air, canceling each other before rapidly disintegrating into tiny particles.
Nathan’s lips curled into a slight smile, and he swiftly pumped mana into his legs, before dashing towards Darius at rapid speed.
Whoosh!
The Elementalist’s eyes widened in shock, as Nathan suddenly vanished from his sight.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, the combat mage reappeared right in front of him, with his blade pulled back for a strike.
Nathan swiftly swung his blade, unleashing a swift slash towards Darius’s shoulder.
’Fast!’ That was the only thing Darius could think of, as he watched the blade rapidly close in on him.
Just as the sword was about to dig into his flesh, the Elementalist quickly activated another spell.
"Wind Burst!" A swift surge of wind suddenly blasted beside him, propelling him to the side.
Spurt!
However, his reaction was still a little late, and the blade still managed to graze his shoulder, leaving a shallow cut.
"Agh..." Darius grunted, his brows furrowing into a deep frown. ’It still got me.’
Whoosh!
He didn’t have enough time to think of what just happened, as Nathan swiftly dashed at him again, his blade more than ready to unleash another slash.
’Damn it!’ The Elementalist cursed inwardly, hurriedly channeling his mana.
"Lightning Dash! Wind steps! Lightning Boots!" Darius shouted, casting three spells in quick succession.
Blitz!!
Swoosh!
Almost immediately, light blue electricity started dancing all over his body, and two thick boots of lightning materialised around his feet.
The winds around his feet rapidly gathered around him, greatly enhancing his speed.
Nathan deftly thrusted his blade at his shoulder, however, Darius easily dodged it by moving to the side, causing the sword to pierce the empty air instead.
The Elementalist’s lips curled into a smug smile, feeling proud of himself for dodging the attack.
With the combined effect of all three speed-boost spells, his speed was easily tripled, and he could now keep up with the combat mage’s movements.
However, he still felt a pang in his chest when he noticed how fast his mana was going down.
Although activating all his speed-enhancement spells gave his agility a massive boost, it also drained his mana three times faster.
’I’ll need to end this fast!’ He thought, narrowing his eyes at Nathan.
"Wind Blast!" He shouted, hurriedly conjuring a swirling sphere of wind in front of him.
Fwoosh!!!
In the next second, the wind surged violently towards the combat mage, hurtling towards him at rapid speed.
Nathan’s lips curled into a smug smirk, and just as the attack was about to close in on him, he swiftly swung his sword, deflecting it to the side.
Bam!
The blast continued flying for a few seconds, before crashing into the ground in the distance.
’Damn it, he deflected it so easily.’ Darius thought, his brows furrowing into a deep frown.
Nonetheless, he didn’t plan on giving up so easily, and he immediately started casting another spell.
"Lightning Spear!!" The Elementalist shouted, summoning a long spear with a sharp, pointed tip which hovered above him.
Blitz!!
The spear crackled violently with bright blue electricity, its tip glistening with power.
Darius lips slowly curled into a slight smirk as he stared at Nathan. ’Not even attacking huh... Let’s see how you deflect this!’
With that in mind, he hurled the lightning spear towards Nathan, panting heavily as his mana reserves dropped another level.
Blitz!!
The giant spear fly through at air at rapid speed, closing in on the combat mage almost immediately.
Right as the spear was about to hit him, Nathan swiftly dashed to the side, narrowing evading the attack.
Bam!
The spear struck the ground instead, instantly exploding into a series of bright blue sparks.
Darius’s frown deepened, seeing Nathan effortlessly dodge his attack, and he wasted no time before launching a second lightning spear.
The only difference this time, was that he made sure to increase its power even more.
Blitz!
Bam!
Nathan easily dodged it again, and the lightning spear smashed against the ground, going off in a small explosion of lightning.
The cycle kept repeating itself, with Darius continuously sending lightning spears and arrows, and Nathan simply running to the side, dodging every single one of them.
’Fuck! How does he—’ The Elementalist’s thought were cut off, as Nathan suddenly vanished from his sight.
Almost immediately, the combat mage reappeared right behind him, and his eyes to widen in shock.
He quickly tried to move away, however, it was already too late.
Nathan swiftly swung his blade, landing a deep cut on Darius’s back, which ran from the top to the side.
"Arrgh!" Darius loudly shouted in agony, as blood spurted out of his back.
Holding in the pain, he quickly turned around, in a bid to launch another spell at the combat mage.
However, Nathan vanished from his sight once more, causing his eyes to widen in shock.
Thwack!
Almost immediately, he reappeared beside him, and before Darius could even react, Nathan a hard kick connected with his left flank, sending him hurtling to the side.
"Argh!" The Elementalist let out a loud grunt of pain, as his body fell flat on the ground, the impact of the hit giving him a few more bruises.
The lightning around his body started flickering unstably, as his mana was already getting too low to maintain the spells.
He hurriedly tried get back up, but Nathan didn’t plan on giving him the chance.
The combat mage charged at him with great speed, swiftly thrusting his sword towards his shoulder.
Spurt!
"Arrgh!" Darius shouted in agony, as the blade stabbed deeply into his shoulder, drawing out blood.
Due to the pain, he wasn’t able to properly concentrate, and his spells became even more unstable.
The lightning flickered a few more times, before rapidly dissolving into tiny blue particles.
"Damn it..." Darius mumbled, lying weakly on the ground with blood oozing out of his injuries.
"I surrender! You win..." He suddenly shouted, tapping his hand desperately on the ground.
Although he already knew he didn’t stand a chance against Nathan, he still felt embarrassed by how easy the combat mage overwhelmed him.
Despite using all his speed-boost spells at once, he still couldn’t keep up. He couldn’t even follow Nathan’s movements.
After thinking of all these, he knew there was no point in fighting anymore. After all, he had already lost.
[And there we have the winner of the first match! Nathan Lane!!]
The commentator shouted excitedly, causing the hall to go up in another loud round of shouts and cheers.
Most of them were displeased with Darius choice to surrender, and they started hurtling insults at him.
However, the Elementalist simply ignored them, consuming the healing pills given to him before walking out of the stage.
After a few minutes, the event hall finally died down, and the commentator proceeded to the next match.
[It’s time for the second match, Trent Morton Vs Wes Silas!!]
The audience immediately exploded in cheers, and the two Elementalists calmly walked unto the stage.
Wes narrowed his eyes at Trent, slowly cracking his fingers to warm himself up for the fight.
"It’s finally time, for you to get disqualified that is." He said, his lips curling into a smug smirk.
"Ohh, really? You’re too confident, all because you won the last time." Trent said, with his brows furrowed into a deep frown. "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to crush that stupid confidence."
[Let the match begin!]
The commentator excitedly announced the start of the fight, and the two Elementalists immediately charged at each other with a loud shout.
