Chapter 209: Unusual mana pressure

Immediately, a large hand of water surged from her hand, flying straight at Henry.

It was exactly the same spell Trent used in his match, and the only difference was that Sandra’s water hand was a little slimmer compared to Trent’s.

However, it compensated for its smaller size with its incredible speed.

Whoosh!

The palm flew through the air at insane speed, rapidly closing in on Henry.

"Water Barrier!" As the water was about to close in on him, he swiftly summoned a large oval barrier of water.

Slosh!

"Charge!" He shouted, blasting the barrier towards the giant hand of water.

Bam!

The two spells collided against each other in the air, each one trying to push the other away.

Crack!

However, a large crack suddenly appeared on the barrier, and within seconds, the whole thing crumbled into pieces.

Splash!

The large palm surged forward once more, flying straight at Henry.

"Blade barrage!" Following up with that attack, Sandra quickly summoned a large number of wind blades, before shooting them towards her opponent.

Whoosh!!

Swoosh!!

The blades flew speedily through the air, closing in on the target almost immediately.

’Fuck!’ Henry cursed inwardly, gritting his teeth together in frustration at the sight of the two attacks approaching him.

"Water Barrier!" He shouted, summoning a door-sized barrier of water.

Swoosh!

"Wind Shield!" Feeling just that wouldn’t be enough, he further reinforced the barrier with a thick wind shield, around the same size.

"Charge!" With a loud shout, he blasted the barriers towards the incoming barrage of blades, before turning his focus back to the giant water hand.

Swoosh!!

"Cyclone Blast!" Henry’s voice reverberated with power as he conjured a swirling vortex of wind around his hand.

Fwoosh!

Without wasting anytime, he thrusted his hand towards the giant palm of water, sending forth a powerful blast of air, which spiralled violently at its centre.

The wind blast collided against the giant palm mid-air, the two spells clashing furiously with each other.

Boom!

However, the cyclone blast won at the end, effortlessly pushing through the large water palm, causing it to explode into a myriad of small droplets.

Sandra’s eyes widened at the sight of this, and she gnashed her teeth in frustration.

Slosh!

The large water hand rapidly regenerated, returning back to its former appearance like nothing happened.

"Wind Steps!" While the giant hand was regenerating, Henry swiftly dashed towards her, casting a spell to enhance his speed.

He made sure to run right by the side of the water hand, in order to avoid it hitting him.

Despite that it was made of water, it was still just a giant hand, and it wouldn’t be easy for the palm to reach him if he ran along its forearm.

"Wind Burst!" Feeling just that wasn’t enough, he propelled himself even further using a small, yet powerful burst of wind.

After regenerating, the large palm of water surged towards him, rapidly closing in on him from behind.

However, with the use of "Wind Burst", he managed to distance himself from the giant hand, reaching his target within seconds.

’Shit!’ Sandra’s cursed inwardly, her eyes dilating in terror at the sight of Henry who suddenly appeared in front of her.

She had made a fatal mistake, and that was letting him close in on her.

Her upper body was wide open, and both her hands were still stretched out, controlling the water hand. She was completely defenceless against him!

"Cyclone Crush!" Henry shouted, swiftly thrusting his fist towards her abdomen.

Swoosh!

The wind swiftly coalesced around his fists, swirling with increasing intensity.

Sandra could only watch as his fist neared her, completely defenceless against the attack.

She hurriedly tried channeling her mana, but it was already too late.

Thwack!

Fwooosh!!

Henry’s fist struck her belly, unleashing a powerful gust of wind which sent her hurtling through the air.

"Arrgh!!" Sandra grunted in pain, as blood spurted out of her lips.

Bam!

Her body spun repeatedly in the air, before crashing into the ground outside she stage.

Spurt!

"Agh..." She let out another grunt of pain, and blood spurted out of her mouth.

Gasp!

She landed not too far from the audience, and from where she laid, she could hear the crowd of students gasping and muttering in surprise.

’I shouldn’t have relied too much on that spell... I let down my guard. Damn you... Henry.’ She mumbled inwardly, embarrassed at how she was flung out of the stage.

Her eyes slowly closed, as she eventually lost consciousness, lying still on the ground.

[Would you look at that! With that we have our winner, Henry Mack!!]

The commentator’s voiced roared across the stage, causing a loud cheer of excitement from the audience.

Henry’s lips curled into a smug smile, feeling proud as he heard the students chant his name his praises.

He kept panting heavily, and his face was pale, however, none of that stopped him from relishing in his victory.

All of his mana was poured into that last spell, and he was already exhausted. He felt glad that the match ended when he did, if not, he would have been the one in Sandra’s place.

He never expected that he would win the match, he simply fought with all he had, and everything turned out fine for him.

The idea to charge straight at her, and land an attack directly on her body was one he got from watching Harry’s fight with Amanda.

And to his surprise, it worked perfectly, especially since he managed to catch his opponent off guard.

An instructor came unto the stage, providing him with some mana replenishing pills, to prepare him for the next match.

Another one went to the unconscious Sandra, healing her injuries before escorting her out of the stage.

Meanwhile, Harry’s eyes flashed with a strange glint as he watched the Elementalist walk down the stage.

’That cyclone spell is pretty powerful...’ He thought, letting out a low sigh. ’If only I could just—’

"We’ll be advancing to the next stage huh... and you and I will finally face." David suddenly said, breaking him out of his thoughts.

"Huh?" Harry muttered in surprise, turning his head towards the Elementalist.

"Don’t think you have a shot at winning, I’m not like the other two." The boy continued, flashing a smug smirk at Harry.

"Let’s just wait till the match, and we’ll see about that." Harry replied, before turning his gaze back to the stage.

Veins bulged around David’s forehead when he heard his words, and he tightly clenched his fists in annoyance.

’We’ll see about that huh... so confident.’ He thought, scoffing lightly.

[Moving unto the next round, one we’ve all been waiting for! The match between the qualifiers and the bye-card holders!]

The commentator said, and the hall immediately went up in another round of cheers.

The words displayed on the large hologram changed again, displaying the list of the next set of matches.

Group 1:

Nathan Lane Vs Darius Black

Group 2:

Trent Morton Vs Wes Silas

Group 3:

Harry Ainsworth Vs David Stein

Group 4:

Susan Grey Vs Stanley Bennet

Group 5:

Henry Mack Vs Olivia Ava

The crowd of students exploded into cheers seeing the names displayed on the list.

However, it wasn’t the same at the group tables. Out of the five who occupied the table at the start of the event, only two now remained.

The tension was at an all time high, and the participants from each group subconsciously exchanged gazes with each other.

Some even went as far as to mock their opponents, feeling confident in their strength.

One of such cases was group two, as Trent and Wes started taunting each other, throwing daggers with their gazes alone.

Trent’s eyes drifted to Harry, who was seated across him, and his brows furrowed into a deep frown.

’Will he qualify...?’ He thought, ignoring Wes who kept yapping beside him.

He doubted Harry would qualify for the final, since his opponent was David, the rank six Elementalist.

Nonetheless, a part of him still felt that Harry might defeat David. He didn’t know why he thought that why, but with the power he has shown since the beginning of the event, there was a slim chance Harry would win.

In fact, he deeply wanted Harry to qualify, so he could crush him in the finals.

’No matter how strong you get, you’ll always remain trash to me.’ He mumbled inwardly, letting out a low scoff.

"Hey! Stop ignoring me!" Wes suddenly said, jolting him out of his thoughts. The blonde haired boy sighed, before curling his lips into a slight smirk.

"I know the thought of losing to someone greater than you can be heartbreaking... so overwhelming that you start to space out." Wes muttered, lightly tapping Trent’s shoulder with a feigned expression of sympathy.

Hearing his words, Veins bulged around Trent’s head and his body started trembling in anger.

As if that wasn’t enough, Wes continued talking: "But don’t worry, I’ll try to go easy on you. No need for you to be bothered... little disciple."

Trent might have been able to tolerate all the other things he said, but when he heard that last words, he finally broke.

"Shut up!" He shouted, subconsciously releasing his mana pressure. "Little... little disciple, I’ve already told you, stop calling me that!"

Wes’s eyes widened in shock, however, it wasn’t because of Trent’s words. ’What is this... when did his mana pressure get so powerful?’

Despite them being in the same mana core stage, he could feel slight tingles run down his spine.

’I knew it, there’s something different about him.’ He thought, narrowing his eyes slightly. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
